Additional Location Information

We are a few hundred yards from the wonderful Desert Park, with its unmissable displays of wild birds, nocturnal house and interactive visitor guide. The MacDonnell Ranges provide myriad attractions within a day's drive of Alice Springs, with camping spots, water holes and walking tracks, including the famous 260km Larapinta Trail. Just down the road is the Araluen Art Centre with permanent displays of Aboriginal Art plus changing exhibitions of modern art, from painting to pottery and even weaving. It is also home to the annual Beanie Festival, with thousands of knitted creations for keeping your head warm!

Other local attractions include the iconic Uluru (Ayers Rock) which is 500km away, about half a day's drive and King's Canyon with the 4 hour rim walk through spectacular scenery, which is slightly closer. However, you don't have to go any further than our back yard to see the red rocks and twisty corkwood trees of the Central Australian landscape, with kangaroos skipping past the back door and parrots and cockatoos screeching from the gum trees, against a backdrop of a brilliant blue desert sky.
