“Enjoyable and Interesting holiday in lovely Village House” We had a lovely holiday in this beautiful quiet house. The house was as described on the website and is most interesting and unusual. The best feature was the upper floor comprising of a big bedroom, bathroom and hallway, very useful for storage and for hanging clothes. There are double doors leading to a balcony and the view from here is wonderful. If you sit out there at night the silence is beautiful. The sitting/diningroom has a fine big fireplace and good views also. We would have liked a couple of armchairs as we found the sofabed uncomfortable for sitting. (We are an elderly couple). The village was very quiet when we were there - October- and the Auberge was closed completely. There is a nice friendly bar/restaurant which was open a few nights a week, and most lunchtimes. Unfortunately there was nowhere to buy bread or milk in the mornings, or anytime. But there is very good shopping about 10kms away. However, apart from that small problem, we had a great time. The surrounding area is beautiful, there are lovely towns and villages all around, with some very good restaurants. The scenery is great and the tranquility of the whole area beautiful. However, if you are more active there is plenty to do with watersports on the lake and in the gorge, and wonderful walking areas. Thank you. We would love to stay there again.
