Our room put clean to shame. Everything was new. Looks like it was remodeled last year. Remodeling is currently taking place on nine new rooms, but don't worry about it, you are not aware of it unless you ask about it.
Food was excellent and the convenience of walking to everything in the main amana was a real bonus. Being located in the middle of a block rather then on a street makes finding it the first time a bit strange, but not being on a "busy" street, (if amana has one) makes it all the quieter and walking more convenient.
Louis' stories of the history of the amana's are informative and entertaining. Jan's down to earth helpfulness is always available when needed, but never interfering.
Service was outstanding, I am just sorry we couldn't stay longer. The blend of the historical exterior (1895) with the convenience of a modern interior is perfect.
