Description

The Roost is an intimate, self contained property for two centrally situated in the picturesque village of Amberley in the heart of the South Downs National Park. A new conversion of an old farm building at Stream Barn, dating back to the 17th century, it provides comfortable and stylish accommodation in an enviable position with stunning views.

Next door is the village tea rooms and also the village shop where you can buy locally sourced products and which caters for everyday needs. Several local pubs within walking distance serve good food and Amberley Castle Hotel is here for that special occasion or treat.

Arundel Castle is close by, historic Chichester with its cathedral and Goodwood and Fontwell racecourses all within a 20 minute drive. South Coast beaches are only 8 miles away.

“Short break”

The Roost is a lovely retreat, equpped with everything we needed. Well placed for exploring the lical area on foot and by car. Sandie and Geoff were very welcoming and helpful.

“An idyllic retreat in the Sussex Downs”

Ann, my wife, and I have just spent a splendid week staying at The Roost in the charming village of Amberley in West Sussex. The accommodation is perfect for a couple: comfortable & cosy and with all the amenities you're likely to require. The owners, Sandie & Geoff, live next door and are very friendly & helpful without being intrusive in any way. There is an excellent pub, The Black Horse, about 200 metres up the road whose food is gastropub standard but not pretentious e.g a home made steak and ale pie was superb. Altogether, we had a great week and we thoroughly recommend The Roost to any couple looking for a stress-free comfortable break.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

If Sandra (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
