As the name suggests these luxurious apartments are located on the shores of Lake Windermere at Waterhead. Waterhead could be described as a village within a village with its own choice of shops, bars and restaurants, or a 10 minute walk will bring you to the centre of Ambleside with a wider choice. Exploring Lake Windermere is a must, jump aboard the Lake Cruisers, just a few minutes walk from your apartment and explore the largest lake in England, hop on and off at each stop and enjoy the changing scenery and atmosphere of each village. Hayes Garden Centre is a few minutes walk and shoppers will love the wide variety of goods on sale ranging from gifts, kitchen equipment, furnishings for the house, pet supplies and of course one of the largest choices of garden plants and accessories in the area.
The 18 apartments are all luxuriously appointed and have a home from home ambience with the benefit of the onsite leisure facilities including small indoor swimming pool, whirlpool and sauna. Set over 2 floors the ground floor apartments have a small patio area and the first floor apartments have a balcony, both with garden furniture providing an ideal place from which to enjoy a glass of wine al-fresco.

The location for these apartments could not be better, however they do not have balconies as described, it is a public walkway! The pool is tiny but nice, the apartments are very small and cramped and when we used the toaster the electricity went off. We weren't given a warm welcome, just greeted with a lot of panic because another guest had apparently not parked in their allocated space and this seemed to be a bit of an obsession with the owners. There are 18 parking spaces and 18 apartments but for some reason the owners are obsessed with you parking in the allocated bay and get very upset if you dont!
We asked for a couple of things in the office and the staff were incredibly rude and acted offended that we actually needed anything at all. We paid over £650 for this holiday and were treated like kids in a hostel, with the owner even standing shouting for us to collect our towels and then counting them to make sure they were all there!
The apartment was clean and the location made up for a lot of the other faults. This place could be 100% if it was updated slightly and the guests were treated as guests instead of burdens, and if they relaxed that ridiculous car parking rule and actually made people feel welcome!

The location is excellent but unfortunately there was no view of the fantastic scenery from the apartment. The apartment had plenty of amenities but the furnishings were fairly basic quality and the beds were brick hard. The Internet and Sky TV were convenient extras.
