Then notice how many 5*-star reviews Saleh has been awarded here on this site. Now you know why you must reorganise your visit to Jordan so you can stay overnight after a memorable day touring in Rum. You're also choosing to make a difference! Not only is this the most cost-effective luxury bed-and-breakfast in Jordan, but it's also pioneering, community-tourism with a wonderful bedouin family! The money you spend goes directly to them.
Your accommodation is quite simply a luxury bedouin tent -- a careful blend of the traditional and modern. It's like stepping into a Lawrence of Arabia movie, settling around the camp fire to the passing sounds of camels! and eating fresh from the bar-b-q. Next door, camouflaged into the rocks is a newly-built small shower and WC block, with ceramic tiles, a proper sit-down loo and running water (though please do not use too much).
There are three sleeping areas, each with beds and lots of fleece blankets
You have a choice. Either one of the small cluster of romantic, bedouin tents in the heart of the Wadi Rum protected area, (9 kms or so from Rum village but still within mobile-phone reach), or there's a more modern camp within Rum village itself, more sheltered and with an open fire, high-speed wifi and extra insulation.
In either case, you will have the chance to sample the wonderful food cooked by Saleh's wife Alia -- this is unique in Rum, many of the other camps use imported, non-bedouin cooks; it's not the same! Saleh and Alia are running a family-friendly family business!
