Description from owner
Description
The B&B at Westgate is large, roomy and very comfortable with stunning views in all directions. The house is orientated to the East to make the most of the morning sun and the views of the vineyards below and the Pyrenees Ranges beyond.
Located only three kilometres from the Western Highway between Ararat and the wine village of Great Western, it is very peaceful, relaxing and quiet surrounded by farm land. Westgate is still a working farm of 700 acres with sheep, cattle and horses. The vineyard comprises 40 acres of mostly Shiraz grapes.
Large, fully self-contained country style house accommodating up to 12 in comfort. Magnificent views in all directions, well equipped kitchen, outdoor entertaining areas, privacy and room to move are just some of the reasons to come and stay for a weekend or longer.
Spectacular panoramic views that will excite and inspire.
The views in all directions from Westgate are spectacular. To the East are the Pyrenees Ranges and the vineyards below offering stunning sunrises or Scotch Mists and to the West, the awe-inspiring Grampians Ranges and equally amazing sunsets. A short stroll along the ridge allows you to view 360 degrees including vineyards and farming land with very few houses. The vistas change all day, every day depending on season, weather and time of day.
Accommodation catering to the largest of families.
Many people say the size of the house is unusually big. To be able to accommodate up to 12 people without being cramped for room is a pleasant surprise. There is also a very large table that comfortably seats 10 and could seat 12 if needed. The picture windows in both the sitting and dining rooms offer guests uninterrupted views of the gardens, vineyards and mountains beyond. The kitchen is large with plenty of bench space and very well equipped to allow easy catering for large numbers. There is a slow combustion wood heater with all wood provided and a split system – so if the weather isn’t warm enough outside, guests can still be cosy and warm inside.
