Welcome to Asolo!
Located in the centre of the romantic, historic little city of Asolo - placed at the Monte Rocco - you find the estate called Borgo Santa Caterina - sophisticated and modern architecture - which places itself perfectly in the picture of the old city. The apartment on the ground floor of the Borgo offers an unspoilt view at the Monte Grappa. Charme and modernity are the main characteristics of the bright place that makes you feel comfortable not only inside but also outside in the little garden that belongs to the apartment as well as the patio and the common garden.
In the openly designed living space you find a tuscanny tiled stove that brings you warmth and cozyness on chilly days, you will find prepared wood ready.
To cover your car a roofed garage is on your disposition.
For coffee, you can choose between a Nespresso machine (with free capsules) an italian Mokka can or a filter coffee machine.

Please go to our summerly vegetable garden with tomatoes, zucchini, strawberries,raspberries and cherries and feel free to pick what you need to make your perfect italian meal!

Asolo is the perfect base for cycling and walking!
You can go along the river Brenta, or the gently rolling hills around Asolo and Valdobbiadene.
Monte Grappa offers nine ascents up to 1755m of varying degrees of difficulty.
There is also the high plateau of Asiago nearby.
About Asolo its history.
The town was originally a settlement of the Veneti, and was mentioned as Acelum in the works of Pliny.
In the early Middle Ages it was under the jurisdiction of the Bishops of Treviso and a possession of the Ezzelino family.
Later Asolo was the capital, and seat of the court, of the fiefdom of Asolo, which was granted by the Republic of Venice (to which it belonged) to Caterina Cornaro, the former Queen of Cyprus; in 1489 it was granted to her for life, but in 1509 when the League of Cambrai conquered and ransacked Asolo, Caterina fled to exile and died in Venice a year later. Under her reign, the painter Gentile Bellini and the humanist Cardinal Pietro Bembo ("Gli Asolani") were part of the court.
The town was also home to the English poet Robert Browning, the actress Eleonora Duse, the explorer Freya Stark, the violinist Wilma Neruda and the composer Gian Francesco Malipiero.

About the Borgo:
Situated in the heart of the historic centre. Prestigious villas immersed in a green oasis, facing the hills of Asolo, surrounded by history and culture. Four towers dedicated to poets and artists that lived in and loved Asolo.
Our house is named after Pietro Bembo, an Italian cardinal and poet from 1547.
He was an influential figure in the development of the Italian language.
For decades, the Borgo housed the famous Mons. Filippin School, a prestigious teaching institute founded in the Fifties, of which just one abandoned building remained. After five years of painstaking architectural, environmental and landscape design and recovery the construction has completed.

“Clean, well designed holiday home with a gorgeous view”
The hosts have thought of everything. Casa Bembo is clean, functional and well designed. The patio and garden are lovely and have glorious views of the surrounding countryside, villas and the mountains. The kitchen is very well equipped and everything was well organised. This is how all holiday rentals should be. Unfortunately our next place in Verona was a disappointment after a few days at Casa Bembo. The only thing to note is that the centre of Asolo is a ten minute, slightly uphill walk away so you are not in the thick of things - but the view more than makes up for this.

“Lovely apartment with beautiful views”
We really enjoyed our stay in Asolo. As others have said, the generosity of and support from Caroline and Ezio was wonderful. The apartment is very elegant and comfortable. We did not have wonderful weather, but even in uncertain conditions we could sit on the terrace and enjoy the wonderful views. We had good trips out, including Bassano del Grappa (for the covered bridge and the grappa museum) and Venice, which we reached by train from Montebelluna (as recommended by Caroline). We advise approaching Asolo from Pagnano - and then Borgo Santa Canterina on the left before reaching Hotel Villa Cipriani on the right.
