About Our House and Bad Bayersoien:
You vacation time is the most valuable time of your year. Bad Bayersoien am See is worth a visit in every season.
Enjoy unforgettable days in our lovingly furnished vacation apartments in the cozy atmosphere of our house. Let your eventful days end looking at the romantic sunset, sitting on our newly built Mediterranean sun terrace in our large garden. For added fun, there is also a barbecue area.
Our house is located in the scenic area between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Füssen in the middle of Upper Bavaria, surrounded by churches (e.g. Wies church, Ettal abbey) and castles (e.g. Linderhof, Neuschwanstein). Nearby, a swamp lake invites you for walks or bathing. Furthermore, we are in the middle of a 180 km long network of well-marked hiking paths and some 500 km of bike routes. Nordic walking enthusiasts will also find ideal conditions. In winter, you find a network of cross-country skiing trails which is well prepared.
Your health is well-cared for in Bad Bayersoien, too. The mountain pine-marshland has healing powers itself, and there are also various wellness offers. In the nature spa park (Naturkurpark), everybody can use spa treatment facilities such as a basin for Wassertreten (water stomping), Moortreten (marsh stomping), cold arm baths or a barefoot parkour for free.
We are amongst the participants with the KönigsCard. With this free card, you receive free offers in the Ammergauer Alps, the Eastern Allgäu and the nature park region Reutte in Tyrol, Austria. All year, more than 180 offers – cable cars, spas, museums, activities in nature and for the whole family, sport facilities and activities and hiking tours – can be used. Just plan for the activities you want to do and have time for, do what you can, as often as you want. Where it comes to cable cars, boat trips and spas, there is a limit of one offer in each of those areas per day. Upon your arrival, we will present you with your free KöngsCard, as well as a brochure detailing all the activities that are offered with this card. For further information and example calculation, check the entry about the Freizeit (spare time) /KönigsCard. Have fun!
Spare time:
Bad Bayersoien am See is a pretty village in the Ammergau Alps, surrounded by mountain scenery. In summer, the marsh lake tempts you to go bathe, fish, or take a boat trip. The museum in the Bierling house tells the village history, and the First Hanging Museum archives hundreds of old tools, machines, and rarities.
Living and traditional customs are shown; talks, readings and cultural events offered. On the page about Events you can learn more. Tennis fans can use three clay courts and are sure to find a partner, as well; tennis racquets are offered in our house.
Those looking to go for a hike on a comfortably flat trail surround the lake or, for a longer way, explore the Geizenmoos or walk the Haselbachrunde. The nearby Hörnle offers alpine hikers the chance to climb a 1548 m high peak, and of course the Ammergau Alps offer many more peaks. If you want to take it all in comfort, you can discover the mountains with cable cars. For those going with walking sticks, there are three Nordic Walking trails around Bad Bayersoien. Bicycle riders find a lot to do, too, including guided mountain bike tours which are offered regularly. The Ammerschlucht gorge is one of the most impressive river landscapes in Europe and a paddlers paradise. Horse riding, often a favorite among young girls, is possible as horse trekking in Echelsbach, riding or carriage tours in Gschwend. Cool guys can slip down the 10 m long slide on the slope, go over the barefoot parkour or the jungle trail in the Naturkurpark (nature spa park).
Bad Bayersoien offers a lot more, not only in summer. Cross-country skiers find a a paradise of 30 km of trails through white forests and untouched winter landscapes. 70 km of hiking trails are cleared for walks or Nordic Walking. As the ice gets thick enough, you can go iceskating or playing Eisstockschiessen on the Soier lake or in the stadium with natural ice; the association for sports on ice also holds regular ice discos. For sleigh rides, many slopes on the edge of Bad Bayersoien can be used to gain speed, or one can go down the 6 km long sleigh trail in the neighboring village Hörnle. Alpine skiers find a number of skiing areas within a distance of only 15 km, which are ideal for families thanks to their fair prices.
Bad Bayersoien am See is at an altitude of 812 m and features a mountain pine bog with curative powers.
The viscous mountain pine-marsh, thanks to the power of healing herbs, has great healing effect and is conducive to good health.
