Villa Napoleone is one of Tuscany's best kept secrets. Not your ordinary holiday rental, this privately owned exclusive villa is located in lovely hamlet San Donato in Collina, in the outskirts of Florence (approx 15 km). It sleeps up to 6 people in three spacious double bedrooms all air conditioned and with private bathroom.
This elegant Tuscan villa sits in a truly spectacular hilltop position with beautiful un-interrupted panoramic views over the Tuscan countryside. Something like a filming set, the villa dates back to the 13th century, when it was built as a Guard Tower, hence the incredible views. It is surrounded by 8 hectares of mature natural park (private) with olive groves and landscaped gardens with flowering shrubs and lemon trees. This private, peaceful location offers a most romantic and secluded setting in the heart of Tuscany, yet the buzz and Renaissance vibe of Florence are only 15 km away, and we are the perfect base to, explore the Chianti region and experience the real italian life style.
Villa Napoleone is arranged over two floors for a total surface of approx 450 sqm, plus outdoor areas; perfect for family reunions and for a group of friends looking for a relaxing holiday in a luxury country house.
On the ground floor there is a bright elegant living room/drawing room with comfy white sofas, an antique fireplace, satellite TV and floor-to-ceiling glass doors leading into a stunning terrace/solarium with breathtaking views over the Florentine hills, two dining rooms, one of which features a second antique fireplace, a delightful powder room with toilet and basin, and a fully equipped modern kitchen with Samsung American-style fridge freezer and ice maker, lovely old wood burning stove, a 5 flames gas hob, oven, microwave, coffe machines and an abundance of crockery, cutlery, linen, pots and pans. The kitchen opens onto a large shady paved patio area with BBQ - perfect for breakfasts and grill dinners!
Upstairs there are the three double bedrooms: the master, with ensuite complete bathroom with jacuzzi tub, the Laura Ashley room, with private detached bathroom with bath and hand shower, and the Horses Room, also with detached private bathroom with walk-in shower. All bedrooms have air conditioning, all bathrooms are finished in marble and offers hairdryers provided as well as top quality linen. A lovely studio/reading room completes the first floor.
Villa Napoleone features extensive landscaped private gardens designed by famous landscape designer Pietro Porcinai, with olive trees, lemon trees, flowers and shrubs, shady patio areas furnished for outdoor eating and relaxing, a private salt water swimming pool pool (14 m x 8 m) and a pool area equipped with double beds and parasols.
Complimentary baby bed and/or high chair will be provided on request.
The terrace and patios are equipped with elegant table and chairs - perfect to sip a Prosecco in the evening and for al fresco dining.
The interiors are tastefully decorated with original Biedermaier pieces of furniture, rare empire paintings, comfy large white sofas, magnificent mirrors and handmade linen curtains. An original stone built gothic arch dating back to the year 1200 graces the space and defines the different living areas. Floors are sand stone and the walls are finished with Venetian plaster in pastel hues.
All bedrooms are spacious, individually decorated, and furnished with exceptionally comfortable beds.
All bed linen and towels are top quality, privately owned and laundered in-house.
Wi-fi connection, air conditioning, central heating, satellite TV, DVD player, iPod docking station, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and secure on-site parking complete the property.
Our rates includes exclusive use of the villa and its grounds (gardens, swimming pool), gardener and pool attendant, luxury linen, hot water and gas for cooking, wi-fi.
Extra services are available on request: extra maid/housekeeping service, laundry, extra linen change, as well as cook service for lunch/dinner, driver, fridge and wine pre-stocking service, etc, all at very reasonable rates – all you have to do is ask!

Villa Napoleone is the ideal base to explore all the best Tuscany has to offer. The Renaissance jewels (and great shopping opportunities) of Florence are only about 15 km away. The Chianti area with Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Greve and ancient borghi, wine farms as well as thermal springs are all within easy reach.
Lucca, Pisa, and the seaside Riviera of Forte di Marmi and Viareggio are about 1,5 hr drive away!
