Maggie's Place-Near Beach,Golf,Club House & Chapel
Don't be fooled by inflated prices that claim 20% discounts or third day free with two day rental. Our bottom line prices are already much lower (in some cases 25% or more then the list price). Our home is huge, comfy and up to date. Our location is great and our prices up front are lower then the competition. We do not double our rates so that we can give 20% off or through in things that make us look good. We are already good. Our guest reviews reflect that. We do not pay our guests or hold them hostage in order to get a good review. The guests have liked our home and our price to voluntarily want to leave a comment. That should be enough in itself but I will give you the guided and detailed tour anyway.

If you are not convinced that Bald Head Island and Maggie's Place is not unique then it may not exist.
Historic guided tours, guided bird walks, turtle nesting nature tours (during season). Deep sea charters, Champion croquet courts, camp and programs for kids. Ideal for weddings.
My wife and I grew up near the ocean and watched our favorite places get crowded as houses and resorts brought crowds of people and the problems that go with it. Bald Head Island is what most people dream about when they look at travel magazine. The island is uncrowded and has over 14 miles of beaches which 11 miles were given back to the state remaining forever natural. Over 12,000 acres of Marsh provide the utmost in observing nature. Being that the island extends out into the gulf-stream it attracts a variety of sea-life including Loggerhead Turtles, Whales, Tuna, Dolphins and many more. The geographic location along the central coastline of the U.S. between Florida and Maine provide a phenomenal means of seeing birds from the North and South as they migrate through Bald Head. The 100+ year old towering Cedar and Oak forest abuts the 50 foot + sand dunes making this island unique and not found in many other places. There are also only a few places in the U.S. that restrict travel on a protected island to electric golf carts, bicycles or walking. This is what made my wife and I buy a piece of heaven. We love the peace and solitude and safety of this lovely place. We are nature lovers and can't resist bird watching, shelling, and turtle watching. I love canoeing, fishing and swimming which fit perfectly to the islands environment.TripAdvisor property ID 2297406...Read more

Everything is new. Enjoyed sitting on front porch and watching sunsets. Lots of privacy. I travelled to a wedding and everyone was jealous of our golf carts! 2 minutes to the beach. And Richard provides all the information one could want! A very comfortable stay in every way. If you want to relax, fish, go to the beach, this place has it all! Wonderful kitchen, bath, laundry, it's not missing anything! :)

Maggie's Place was a great spot for our family to enjoy a few relaxing days at Bald Head. Richard did not leave a stone unturned. Every detail was explained, and he had made it as easy as he could for us to move into their home for a few days. We enjoyed all of the amenities offered- the golf carts, bikes, BHI club membership, the grill, and on and on. Richard was also very generous in sharing his knowledge of the island. That helped immensely, and his tips were spot on. Maggie's Place is spacious and nice, yet we felt very comfortable having our two children there too. They are obviously child friendly people, and that's a good thing in our book! We certainly hope to return to Bald Head and Maggie's Place one day soon.

We had a wonderful family getaway to Maggie's Place. Richard, the owner, gave us terrific advice about the island and all it has to offer. He sold us on the place with one phone call.
Everything was very clean and the house was extremely well stocked. We didn't have to bring a thing except some food and our clothes.
There are so many decks and porches and our family enjoyed a lot of time relaxing on them.
One of the golf carts had a flat tire and with one phone call to Richard it was fixed within a couple of hours. We had great check out reminders, which were helpful.
It's a great place for the whole family.

We stayed at Maggie's Place for my Son's wedding. First, the house was immaculate. We did not need to do anything except bring our clothes and food (we should have taken advantage of the Market and only packed our clothes). Everything was in perfect working order and the location of the house could not have been any better. We had several families staying at different homes on the Island. Each of us had other houses over for coffee and our house was by far the best laid out floor plan. We were asked several times for the owners contact information. The Island was a perfect place to get away and relax. Even with the busy wedding events, we were able to enjoy this remarkable place. The Owner kept us informed of all the events that were going on during our stay. None of the other homes had the personal communication that we had. We will most definitely recommend Maggie's Place to our friends and family, and look forward to going there again.
