Nestling in the rolling countryside bordering Co-Down and Co-Armagh a warm welcome awaits you at this magnificent 5 Star country house whether its enjoying the peace and tranquility of our wonderful garden from a quiet spot in the Garden Room or sinking into a comfy sofa in front of a blazing fire in the sitting room you can forget about the world outside.

A wonderful nights sleep awaits you in any of our 3 individually decorated bedrooms each with super king beds complimented with luxurious bedding in opulent surroundings.

The Colonial Room

A perfect honeymoon suite - this is a haven of cool tranquillity designed in a classic colonial style. A massive four poster bed creates a sense of grandeur and romantic elegance & a welcoming fireplace and comfy leather armchair with books and magazines ensures you can relax and unwind. Includes a modern bathroom and roll top tub with separate double shower

The Blue Room

The modern and sumptuous furnishings make the Blue Room a tranquil, sumptuous place to dream (can be split into twin beds). This superb room has a magnificently proportioned on suite bathroom, sink into your large sumptuous 6’ roll top bath or enjoy a ‘raindrop’ shower.

Lily’s Room

This light airy room oozing with memories of bygone years is furnished with beautiful family antiques from ‘Grandmother Lily’s best room’. A wonderful period 6 foot wide four poster bed adds a touch of elegance to this serenely romantic room. A fully equipped en-suite showroom ensures you have a truly comfortable stay.

Dining at Blackwell House

We love our food & are very discerning about our choice of ingredients. We want to provide our guests with the tastiest food using best of local award winning meats and vegetables from local farmers. Whatever the occasion we will do our best to provide you with superb menus tailored to suit in very relaxed, private surroundings.

Breakfast

Our breakfast menu offers an extensive continental buffet including home cooked breads, preserves and bottled fruit. Joyce makes hot food to order on the Aga Stove, including the traditional Ulster Fry and of course our own hens provide freshly laid eggs. If you feel like cooking you can help cook your own Pancakes or Irish Soda Bread on Great Aunt Maggie's Griddle.

Complimentary Cream Tea On arrival (between 3.00 and 4.00pm) with all bookings in The blue room and The colonial Room

Tuck into scrumptious, hot, freshly baked scones with ‘lashings’ of fresh Irish cream and homemade raspberry or strawberry preserves.

Shopping at the Banbridge Outlet centre or Belfast city centre, Walking, Golfing, Hiking, Cycling, Mountain Biking, Fishing, Sight Seeing, Mountain Climbing, Go Karting, Swimming, Sight Seeing, the list is endless and we can help you plan your itinerary.

On our doorstep our guests have the opportunity to explore the Canal towpath which abounds with interesting places and stories guaranteed to fascinate any traveller. An ideal place to take a stroll or for the more adventurous a 20 mile hike, jog or bicycle ride.

Snuggling in a tranquil and secluded county location we are only 5 miles from Banbridge and the A1 - turn North and 30 minutes takes you to Belfast and South for an hour to Dublin.

Nothing is too much trouble, Joyce and Steve ensure your comfort and enjoyment comes first, if you want spoilt then this is the place to come.
