Florence, of course, is the capital of Tuscany, and the Birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, reaching its pinnacle of civilization between the 11th and 15th centuries. In the 15th century, it came under the rule of the Medici family, who brought the area to the height of its glory in art and culture, in politics and economic power. You will want to spend many hours and days, visiting such world-class sites, as the Uffizzi, the Pitti, Palace, The Duomo, the Church of Santa Croce, the Ponte Vecchio, and much, much more.
BARBERINO DI MUGELLO is situated in the Stura valley, and is one of the nine municipal districts in the Mugello valley. The town, born in the Middle Ages, was for many years the active centre of commercial life for the whole valley, and underwent long periods of conquest for its economic power. The name "Barberino" comes from the coat of arms, carved on an architrave in the castle of the ruling Cattani family, which displays a man with three beards. When Barberino became a part of the Florentine district in 1313, its importance grew; but the town lived its most splendid period in the 15th century under the Medici, whose residences were built all over the area and which are still visible today. The area is studded with castles, churches, and historical buildings open for visits including the Villa Cafaggiolo, one of the many Medici residences; the Villa of the Masks, originally built at the end of the 16th century by Bettini family and rebuilt in the 18th century by the Gerini; the Abbey of S. Maria a Vigesimo, founded in the 11th century and renovated many times, plus many other places of historical and artistic interest. In addition to the artistic patrimony, Barberino also offers a wealth of wonderful natural resources: one can enjoy an outing along the river Stura or a relaxing afternoon on the banks of the Lake Bilancino, where there are many festivals, markets, and activities throughout the year.

The villa is a typical Xviii century italian house with painted walls and ceilings.
Location is ideal to avoid the very hot weather of Florence in summer as it is already significantly above sea level.
The villa is beautiful with this specific charm of the old family houses filled with memories. Bedrooms are very spacious and bathrooms very well distributed in the house.
But describing only the house would not be fair to his habitants.
Marcella is a great cook and a lovely hostess. She is always willing to help and to please her hosts. Her food is excellent but beyond her talent; she cook with the heart in her hands as it was nicely said by a friend of us.
So this is a place you really want to consider if you are planning a party with a large group.
