Bath was a Roman city, for 400 years. Attracted by the natural features of the area, and "Rome" like climate, they only left when their Empire weakened.
Bath is also the birthplace of the once modern Georgian style of architecture, which utilised many innovative techniques and of course the lovely warm golden local stone. Amazing buildings can be found around every corner of this World Heritage City.
Culture abounds, in all its forms and then there are the attractions of Somerset, Wiltshire and nearby (and easy to get to) Bristol.
Today, Bath is a small, but cosmopolitan, vibrant and lovely city. Great restaurants, museums, galleries, shops, theatre, concerts, festivals, rugby, cricket, the Thermae Spa baths, hot springs, walks or cycle rides along the canal or river, balloon rides; always something going on, and a wonderful dry and sunny climate make this lovely city a great holiday destination.
The Priory, Bath's only Michelin starred restaurant, is a 15 min walk away, with pubs and other restaurants, mini Tesco, shops and take-aways, main local hospital etc., all nearer still ( a 5 min walk) in Weston village.
It's an easy walk / bus/taxi or car trip into the hustle and bustle of Bath's busy central areas. And you get the benefit of views over fields and peace and quiet at the end of your day
Frequent buses (No 14) stop within 200 yards that connect with the city centre every 15 mins or so.

"Nice accommodations but a little distant from the center of Bath"
Left on 01/31/2014 for a stay in December 2013 | JustaDad2014Reviewed Jan 31, 2014Stayed Dec 2013
This was a very spacious flat , clean and with good facilities in a very quiet area outside of the main center of Bath. It was a little chilly because the heat didn't seem to circulate throughout the whole flat before the thermostat kicked off, but a space heater provided extra heat in the master bedroom (the kids suffered a little). If I were to travel to Bath again, I might try to stay somewhere closer to the center because we had to drive into town and it can be a bit of a hassle finding a place to park in Bath. I can't blame Jon for that; the location is accurately described on the site.

I was looking for a weekend stay within the area for a wedding and luckily stumbled across Weston Lodge. An extremely smooth booking process and an outstanding apartment with quality furnishings, I would highly recommended a stay here if you are visiting the area and am already planning my next break here.

This was our first time renting on vacation instead of staying in a hotel. This apartment was very nice, clean, comfortable and quiet. We saved a lot of money staying in the rental instead of hotels and by having a kitchen available. The manager went above and beyond to see that everything went well for us and was very easy and pleasent to work with. We had a fabulous time and would, and have, recommended vacation rentals and this one in particular.
Apologies for the heating being set so low, but you did take the apartment as a very late booking (with only 3 hours notice) in the middle of a very cold spell !
"A quiet location for a short break near Bath City Centre"

We found this apartment perfect for a short break during the half term break. The children were very happy in the twin bedroom and we enjoyed the peace and quiet in the master bedroom. This was an ideal location for getting into central Bath (we used taxis) for shopping, eating and sightseeing. There is plenty in Bath to keep the family occupied and interested.

We booked at short notice, finding the only 3 nights available in august which suited our schedule perfectly. Jon was very helpful with arranging the booking. The instructions were good, and we got the right parking space, door combinations etc and got in.
The pictures on the website don't really do this place justice; the lounge was great but the bedroom in the extension and connecting bathroom were pretty impressive. Our 3-year old loved the amount of space and different areas to explore.
The local area is very quiet and relaxed, lovely cottage opposite with waterfall. Once you get used to the one-way system through Bath it's pretty central for exploring much of Somerset.
Only drawback for us was the flat is on the top floor; my wife is heavily pregnant and struggled to get up the stairs. Would definitely stay again though, after giving birth of course. We found the map of Bath in the car when we got home so had to post it back, hope we didn't cause too much inconvenience. Highly recommended.

Accomodation was clean and comfortable, great location for our sightseeing plans. Dissapointed that there was no clothes dryer as it made washing a problem and we had to waste valuable time at the local launderette. Also a shower curtain in the ensuite would have been handy.
Thanks for the feedback Peter. There is a clothes drying rack supplied and I assume that Peter wanted a shower curtain over the bath, which would not be practical due to the sloping ceiling over the bath. The other en-suite has a shower enclosure.Oct 2010.
And we have now installed a tumble dryer. Jan 2011.
