The Gardeners House/ La maison du Jardinier

Our big house 'La Maison du Jardinier' is a typical french stone house nestled into the tiny town of Beaufort in the Minervois region of southern France. The house was built 200 years ago by the previous owners great grandfather who quarried the stones from the breathtaking canyons of Minerve, just 10.8 klm away. Recently renovated with creativity and respect for the old bones of the house the space is a comfortable sunny spot perfect for anyone looking for a typical Mediterranean experience.

La Maison du Jardinier has a south facing garden where you can soak up some sun, enjoy the shade of the sprawling fig tree and enjoy long lingering meals ...Read more

Additional Location Information

The Gardeners house is situated on top of La Combe du Jardiniers fully functioning wine cellar. The perfect place for wine lovers to enjoy a holiday surrounded by the nature and culture of French wine and gastronomy. Book a wine and vine tour, lunch in the vineyards or cooking class with us at the domaine or discover the terroir yourself on one of the rambling country roads or GR hiking routes running directly through the village. The area is made up of many tiny towns only a few klm away from each other, although very rural the area is quite populated and offers an array of amenities for those who have access to a vehicle. Beaufort is a small town of only 150 inhabitants and has a post office (selling fresh bread and pastry's in the mornings). The restaurant is only a stroll away and serves high quality provincial meals (lunch and dinner). Beaufort is 2 klm from the hub town Olonzac with many restaurants, shops, cafes and a weekly produce and artisan market. Historic sights like the town of Minerve, the ancient Dolmans, the walled city of Carcassonne, the roman road and cathedral in Narbonne or the Abby de Fontfoide are all short car trips away as are many sprawling gold sand beaches of the Mediterranean sea.
There is parking available in front of the house and storage in the garden for bikes.
