The Vision Splendid is located on a rural lane 8km from historic Beechworth gold town.The lane ends at an escarpment overlooking the Ovens Valley 400m below-the view extends for 100km or more over the valley and foothills to the Victorian Alps in the distance.These are snow-capped in winter. Mt Buffalo plateau 1750m towers in the nearer distance and the forested Flagstaff Range flanks the eastern aspect of the view.Below is a patchwork of farmland and treed avenues through the Murmungee Valley.
Our site has large flat areas for ball games,kids biking exploring and strolling.We supply 5 bikes for kids-BMX and trainer wheel types-free to use.Bring helmets!
Wildlife is a feature of the property with wedge-tailed eagles and other raptors soaring along the escarpment,many Australian native birds (with an evening cacophany of cartwheeling screeching galahs for example),occasional antechinus (native mouse),wallabies,echidnas,and kangaroos,and rarely,koalas.We have trusting ground level superb Blue Wren families and their mates Noisy Scrub Wrens.Colourful Eastern and Crimson Rosellas,honeyeaters,Scarlet Browed finch families,Red Capped Robins(in winter) the superb-voiced Rufous whistler and other birds are always present.We have a water feature with fountain which attracts them for closer viewing.At night we have had visits from Tawny Frogmouth and Barn owls.
