Additional Location Information

Residence Sonnnleiten's holiday apartments invite you to spend relaxing holidays in the idyllic Tyrolean mountain village of Berwang. Berwang, the highest mountain village of Tyrol's Zugspitz Arena, is situated on a sunny plateau high up in the Tyrolean mountains at an altitude of 1.336 meters. The quiet, natural location of our cosy vacation rental is the ideal starting point for outdoor activities such as walks, hikes, climbs and, of course, all lovers of winter sports will find their personal paradise on the sunny side of the Zugspitze.
Discover Berwang and local activities:
* Explore the mountain world of Tyrol's Zugspitz Arena and the wild river landscape of the Nature Park Lech Valley.
* A trip to Innsbruck to see the Golden Roof and Innsbruck's Alpine Zoo is just as rewarding as a visit to the Swarovski Crystal World.
* The Bavarian cities of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Fussen are only a few kilometers away just like the royal castles of King Ludwig II, among them the world-famous Neuschwanstein Castle!
* Tyrol's Zugspitz Arena is a classical mountaineering region and, of course, mountains play the main role here. In summer as well as in winter there is a wide range of all kinds of outdoor activities, to be practiced not only at the Zugspitze! The most beautiful summit destinations and hikes to crystal clear mountain lakes are right on our doorstep!
* A beautiful scenic road leads from Berwang in Tyrol's Zugspitz Arena to one of Europe's last intact wild river landscapes, the Nature Park Lech Valley. As a part of the Lech Trail, the dizzying Holzgauer suspension bridge is the longest and highest pedestrian suspension bridge in Austria. On the way to the Tyrolean Lech Valley you find, well hidden in a branch valley, the alpine pasture village of Fallerschein, with 40 log cabins Austria's biggest and highest alpine pasture village.
* Innsbruck, capital city of Tyrol, mountaineering metropolis and the secret capital of the Alps is a true treasure. The historic centre is filled with attractions such as the Golden Roof, Ambras Castle, the Hofburg and the ski jump on the Bergisel. Not to forget the famous Alpine Zoo of Innsbruck. Not far from Innsbruck, the Swarovski Crystal World in Wattens casts a sparkling spell of its own on 700.000 visitors each year.
* Close to the border between Tyrol and Bavaria, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Füssen invite you to take a leisurely stroll in Bavaria. Have a look at the paintings on the historic house facades, the so-called "Lüftlmalerei" in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and discover Füssen's medieval city with old city walls and the High Castle.
* Known all over the world and only 30 kilometers away, you find the famous royal castles of King Ludwig II: Hohenschwangau, Linderhof and Neuschwanstein Castle. The royal castles are a very popular magnet for tourists, we, therefore, recommend visiting them during the off season. Absolutely amazing and unforgettable is the view from the Marienbrücke, Mary's Bridge, to Neuschwanstein Castle - definitely a "million dollar view".

* Erlebnis Zugspitze
* Rundwanderungen
