The Sherwood Cabin offers the charm of a vintage cabin that has been partially restored with some upgraded interior features that enhance its appeal. This understated example of a rustic cabin in the San Bernardino Mountains offers the perfect place to relax and enjoy.
Upon entering the cabin, one is pleasantly surprised to find the walls within its spacious living room adorned, floor to ceiling with knotty pine. To compliment its rustic mountain décor and complete the atmosphere, the windows and doorways have been trimmed with wood and log accents. The ceiling of the living room has also been embellished with log which continues to add to the warm and woodsy cabin ambience.
Where would a rustic cabin in the mountains be without a fireplace? The crowning jewel within the living room is the majestic, floor to ceiling, uniquely designed, native rock fireplace. You will definitely want to gather round, with logs a blaze, and take your picture for your holiday cards!
Let the sunshine in! There are two windows, one on either side of the fireplace. Turn back the window coverings to reveal and allow the beauty of the outdoors to invade the room.
Completing the comforts of the living room is an intimate dining table with chairs, a couch, occasional chairs, as well as a trundle bed that doubles as an additional couch for extra seating. A 24” flat screen TV is mounted in the corner offering basic cable and a built in DVD player for entertainment.
There’s nothing better than waking up to breakfast cooking in the kitchen with the smell of fresh coffee brewing, bacon sizzling on the stove, a ray of sunshine streaming in, and a low fire burning within a cabin fireplace, Ahhhh……this is a Norman Rockwell morning! No extra charge for this fine amenity at the Sherwood Cabin.
The kitchen is intimately sized yet fully stocked with everything one would need to create hearty meals or light snacks. A full sized stove and oven, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker is on hand to make the chef of the group happy. The unique under counter refrigerator and freezer are completely separate from each other. There’s an enclosed porch just off the kitchen which offers the perfect place for storing any additional items of food, clothing, hiking, or snow gear etc.
If you are looking to grill rather than use the kitchen there’s a propane barbecue on the spacious front deck.
The two bedrooms continue the rustic tradition of this vintage charmer with the knotty pine embellishments found in the living room along with accents of log furniture.
The cabin itself is positioned toward the back of a nice size lot. The pine trees on the landscape appear as if they were strategically placed to shelter the cabin while also performing double duty allowing guests to enjoy the scent and beauty of fresh natural pine right on the property.
The front yard is spacious and makes for the perfect location to allow children to play any time of year. Children will enjoy collecting pine cones for souvenirs and/or transform them into thanksgiving turkeys for your holiday table. Create snowmen and women in the front yard during the winter, or enjoy making rustic forts in the spring, summer, and fall. Whatever a child can imagine is the only limit to the fun kids can have while enjoying the yard offered at Sherwood.
