Our newly renovated cabin is nestled between trees with extraordinary unobstructed PANORAMIC views of the mountains and ski slopes! Bright and open floor plan makes it easy for everyone to be together, and large windows and open beam vaulted ceilings bring nature indoors. Natural Stone wood burning fireplace will be a focal point for your gathering. Throw a log on the fire, stare out the window at the incredible views, and enjoy eachother's company.
Enjoy cooking in the modern style kitchen with stainless appliances or sit back and relax on the deck while breathing in the fresh mountain air! This cabin has been updated with a touch of European flair, fresh paint, all new furnishings and bedding, and pops of color! A perfect and cozy getaway without having to sacrifice modern conveniences.

Bedrooms are downstairs, where they stay surprisingly toasty and warm due to central heating. Bedroom 1 has a plush queen mattress and a log frame bed. Bedroom 2 also has a queen log bed, and an additional twin roll-away bed stored in the closet. Upstairs there is a brand new sectional sofa and ottoman that could easily sleep 2 more people. One bathroom is upstairs (jacuzzi tub) and one jack & jill bathroom is downstairs.
Located in the Moonridge neighborhood, the Treehaus Chalet is close to it all and easy to find. Just a short drive or walk to Bear Mountain shuttle (approx 1/2 mile away), 1 mile drive to the Bear Mtn parking lot, and not far from Snow Summit and the quaint Village! The uphill driveway can park 2 to 3 cars in tandem. It is narrow so can be a tight fit for full size SUVs, but it flattens and widens a bit at the very top.

This cabin was simple and elegant. Perfect for a couple or a group of people for the weekend. The view was amazing, the furnishing is nice and you are in close proximity to everything you need! This was a beautiful cabin and I will definently keep it in mind for my next trip!

I try not to use "excellent" too often because you never know what you may see in the future but this cabin is in all honesty excellent for its value, size, amenities, location and personality.
I did not feel I was scammed on the price at all for what was offered, it was the perfect size for the two couples we had. I read reviews before staying and a common issue was either its size or size of the driveway. I feel as if both of these are what add to the personality of being a cozy cabin back in a quiet neighborhood. Sara was very helpful and personable during the rental process and it is clear that both her and Eric though of everything from a shovel for the snow to the lighters for the fireplace they clearly want you to feel at home. It was fun to watch the skiers on bear mountain during the day and groomers at night from the awesome deck! Thank you ill be back shortly! Read more
Thank you for the awesome review, Brent!! It was a pleasure having you stay at our place, and we are glad that you appreciated the view that our steep driveway gets us! The cabin really is ideal for two couples, so that's great you got to share the experience with friends without feeling cramped. Thanks again, and Happy New Year!

We loved this cabin! It was super cozy, but still had all the modern conveniences and was really close to town. The view from the deck (and living/kitchen area) is beyond relaxing. We loved the decorations too. It was cabin'y, but not tacky. Just perfect.
One thing I really noticed in comparison with other cabins is the place heats well and stays warm! We turned off the heat at night because it gets warmer downstairs for some reason; and were just fine.
Sara was amazing and I always felt like I could email her if needed. Most of the cabins that are run by rental agencies don't have a host who is available, but Sara even checked in on us by email. It made us feel that much better about staying.
I think it's perfect for 4 people. The only downside is the driveway. I have a newer car but it did not want to go up the driveway without screeching. Once it did, getting down was really tough. So, once we got it down once, we just parked at the bottom. No biggie, but just something to be aware of. It might not be worth the hassle of parking up the driveway.
Thank you for the nice remarks, Amy! So happy to hear you had a perfectly cozy stay! It was a pleasure hosting you and we'd be thrilled to have you back. Since the furnace is downstairs, the bedrooms get nice and toasty by bedtime which is quite nice. And it's true, the driveway is definitely tricky. Some cars' wheels will spin a bit on the way up, and backing down takes teamwork! The one drawback we wish was an easy fix!

Had a terrific overnight stay! Would love to return for another visit. The view was beautiful and the home was very clean. Only complaint would be the driveway...very small and narrow. I have a full size SUV and could not fit. Read more
Thanks for your review and guest book entry, Leah! We were thrilled to read our guest book on a recent visit and see that guests are enjoying their stays. Yes, the driveway can be challenging for large vehicles. We are currently looking at solutions to improve the parking situation, but in the meantime we hope that people find it well worth the climb as we do. Thanks again for staying, and we hope to have you back!

It was the perfect weekend getaway, exactly what we needed!! The neighborhood was peaceful, the view from the balcony was beautiful, and there was lots to do in town. The house was also very clean - and having a grill, oven and stove, with all the necessary utensils was so convenient.
The area was close enough to town where it was a short drive away, but far enough away so you weren't dealing with the crowds.
One small tip - drink lots and lots of water! The air was clean and fresh, but so dry! Read more

Who knew that you could find heaven only three hours drive from Sin City (Las Vegas). My friends and I had the most wonderful time relaxing at the Treehaus Chalet. The beds and furnishings were very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking tools we needed, and the view was amazing!!! We used the fireplace every night along with the BBQ. Our last night there we celebrated our cozy cabin experience with margarita and Scrabble (from their game library) next to the fire. We are so happy that we found this cabin and can't wait to come back. Working with the owners and the property manager was personal, quick, and easy. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. Searched online for a couples getaway with friends to Big Bear. First thing, what an incredible view!!! And it was so relaxing and quiet on the hillside. My Facebook default pic is my buddy and I on this porch with drinks and the snowcovered slopes behind us. The sunset, was picturesque.
I found it hard to find cabins with two queen beds and other amenities/location/price we wanted. The Treehaus worked perfectly! The layout is ideal for a cabin and makes it feel so much larger than I bet it is. It was nice having all the ammenities in the home. Ideal location minutes from the resorts, Village, etc. Having 1.75 baths made for a very comfortable stay with four adults too.
I highly recommend this location and can't wait to visit again, hopefully soon with more snow again this week.

I stayed at the Treehaus Chalet in in March of 2009 and had a great experience. The views were absolutely spectacular from the upstairs areas, you can spend all day watching the skiiers come down Bear Mt., and the lights from the evening session at the resorts is really nice. The floor plan is great, much better than any of the other cabins I've stayed at in Big Bear, there was lots of room for everyone to hang out. The bedrooms were nice and clean, and the downstairs (where the bedrooms are) stayed warm and toasty through the night which was greatly appreciated.
Unlike most cabins in the area, the kitchen was very open and had everything you need. We brought up a crock pot and made chili, and made a big breakfast in the morning with plenty of room for cooking without anyone getting in the way. The living room area seems really big for a cabin of its size since its so open. We didn't even feel like leaving much while we were up there, we were perfectly happy to stay inside and admire the view.
The location of the place is the best part though, the cabin is on top of a hill looking down over a bunch of other cabins, with the mountains in the background. It feels like you are on top of the world. The whole area is really nice, we took a night time stroll around the neighborhood while it was snowing which was fun. Its super close to both Bear Mt. and Summit, and there are tons of stores/restaurants close by. I'd absolutely rent the treehaus again!
PS, don't forget to check out the huge gnarled pine tree out back.
