Big Bear Vacations has rated this propertyRecent Review: "Today is Christmas day and we are sad to be leaving tomorrow after a 7 day stay at Peacelodge. We are extreme lucky to have received maybe 3 or 4 inches of fresh snow last night and have spent some fun times today sleding in it.Peacelodge is a very comfortable homely home. It is well placed being close to the Big Bear Skifield but far enough away from the hustle and bustle that you feel relaxed and can enjoy your holiday. We did have a couple of small issues but Big Bear Vacations were great at sorting these out for us. We would not hesitate to book through Big Bear Vacations or to stay at Peacelodge again." ~C.W. “Decent place, few service issue and facility issues”
Left on 12/09/2011 for a stay in December 2011 | A FlipKey verified reviewerReviewed Dec 9, 2011Stayed Dec 2011
We stayed for one night only and i'm very glad we did. The house has a really nice look and feel. Warm and cozy with very attractive features.
Though the main problem started before we even got to the house. The 3 cars parking was one of the reasons we took this house, but the steep driveway was full of snow and dense ice, even though it didn't snow for more than 3 days. We called the service phone number and the girl told us to shuffle it ourselves. When we said it was dense ice as well, she claimed it is our responsibility. Luckily for us, a snowplow truck passed by and we hired his services.
Second issue was the spa (or jacuzzi), it was locked with a padlock and we were not given the key. After contacting the customer service, she sent us the key with a girl (that slipped on the ice in the driveway and almost broke her arm).
Third issue and the last one, was the fact the house didn't have any hot water (only warm water). Both showers had warm water only and the jacuzzi was warm. No matter how long we left the water running it didn't get warmer (only a bit colder). In a night that the temperature dropped to 12 degrees, it is required that at least the jacuzzi will be hot. As soon as you stick any part of your body out of the water, you freeze!
Well, that's it.
Except that, the house was great and we had lots of fun.
No matter which place you choose remember that you are on vacation, so relax and have fun.

“Cabin/ House needs work!!!”

As I said this place needs a lot of work. I felt dirty while I stayed there. There was mold in the showers, the toilet seats were all chipped up. There were dirty pillows without pillow cases. The screen doors didn't seal so we couldn't let fresh air in unless we wanted to also let the spiders in. There were spider webs all over inside and out. It wouldn't take much to take a broom and brush those away periodically. I enjoyed having more space for my family compared to what a hotel would have offered but that is about the only positive thing I can say. I love Big Bear, it is beautiful and there is so many fun things to do.

Comfortable and great location because it is away from all of the busy streets and crowds of people. The spa was wonderful. Only downside is that the walls are paper thin, you can hear everything going on in the house.
