Walking Pines is less than a mile to the lake and the Big Bear Village with it’s shops, restaurants, cinemas, bowling alley, and fun zone. Also close to the Alpine slide, mini golf, water slides, and slick track. Winter season offers the Big Bear Snow Play Hill. These activities are tourist favorites all throughout the four seasons of the year.
The home is welcoming and warm with pine paneling throughout. The great room with its vaulted ceiling is open and spacious and offers a pool table, multiple sofas for comfort, a flat screen TV & DVD. An awesome wood burning fireplace is situated perfectly to command attention anytime of the year. Sit around, play a game of pool all the while being warmed by the fire that is so special in a mountain cabin. The windows in the main living area give the cabin an open feeling, the home sits on a corner which allows guests to view from many angles of the home, giving it a more open feeling.
The kitchen is to one side of the room and has lots of spacious cabinets as well as a long counter top. This makes working in the kitchen a joy, lots of room to spread things out. Use the extra long counter as a buffet for holiday entertaining. The dining table is a nice size for 6 and doubles as a great place to play board games or cards, or just sit back, relax, and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee in the morning while reading the paper.
The two bedrooms, downstairs, offer different options for sleeping. One bedroom has a King as well as a TV, the other offers a Queen and a Twin over Twin Bunk Bed.
Moving up to the loft is an adventure as the stairway leading up to it is a spiral staircase, makes you feel like it’s the stairway to heaven, and for kids, it is! The loft is another great source of entertainment. The foosball game table is in the loft as it some comfy chairs situated opposite another TV with VCR and DVD. Kids will be entertained for hours playing their gaming system on the TV or playing foosball, watching their favorite movie on the VCR or DVD. There’s a bathroom up in the loft as well so they won’t need to come down until dinner!
The back yard has a nice cement patio where you can relax on the furniture, BBQ on the grill or just sit outdoors and listen to nature sounds you don’t hear down the hill. The yard is private as it is completely fenced. This makes it a great place for families with young children as well as their pets.
The washer and dryer offered is brand new and is nice to have for extended stays or just to dry children’s clothes in the winter when they come in for lunch after a morning or afternoon of snow play.
Walking Pines has so many wonderful options for families or friends to enjoy, the only thing to consider is which dates are best for your stay!
Additional amenities include: pool table, fireplace: char, wireless internet: 3, pets friendly, washer/dryer, fenced yard....Read more

We had a great stay in this home. It had everything we needed. It was clean and newly upgraded. The linens were fresh and the beds were comfortable. The hot tub was a nice bonus. Wifi and cable worked great! The kids loved the pool table & foosball table and the location was really great with hiking trails just across the street. My family really enjoyed the house and we would definately stay in this house again.
We are happy to hear that your Christmas stay was pleasing. We hope you will return in the near future. Try a different season, Big Bear is so beautiful during the other seasons of the year. There are lots of things to do as the seasons change.
We look forward to welcoming you back.

"Great week in Big Bear"

The rental house was very clean, and was stocked with all the kitchen utensils, dishes, cups necessary to make the stay very nice. The bedding was very nice, as was the funiture in the cabin. The cabin was recently remodeled and the owners do take great care of the cabin. The only minor bummers were that it was located on a semi-busy street and the loft gets quite hot during the daytime,(but does cool off nicely at night). The location is great, close to a very nice park, excellent hiking, and close to the marina and the main street.
Always pleased to confirm our guests are enjoying ltheir stay. Yes, the Walking Pines cabin has been lovingly and painstakingly decorated and amenitized so that guests will have all the necessities that help make a stay more comfortable.
We are very appreciative that it is one of our family. In reference to the heat in the loft. Unfortunately, heat does rise and will make most cabins quite warm during the heat of the day. Fortunately, there is a tremendous swing in temps. between day time highs and evening to nightly lows, sometimes up to 40 degrees during the winter months.
As in all higher climate areas, Big Bear is no exception, the need for air conditioning is very little. Some cabins do have over head fans installed in some of the rooms, however, this is why we recommend our guests bring along their own fan as that is the only way to ensure that your comforts will be met according to your needs.
If you visit during lthe winter months, the park you have mentioned offers awesome sledding and inner tubing hills. If you haven't seen it, go back onto the website and view the video tab, it shows some of the snow play fun you can expect.
Thank you for your review of the Walking Pines cabin, we really appreciate our guests who take the time to share with others as well as hear compliments on the staff and the cabin.

We had such a wonderful time! Big Bear Lake is so beautiful and there was lots to do. We started with a friendly and efficient check in with Gold Rush Resort Rentals, which was easy to find. Then discovered that our cabin had a perfect location for us, close to everything, but right across the street from a perfect trail, up the mountain ending in a panoramic view of the town and lake. The cabin itself was bigger than it looked in the pictures and seemed brand new, it was in such good shape. The beds were very comfortable, kitchen well equipped, lots of attention to detail including little things like hooks on the backs of doors to keep things picked up. We'll be back!
We are very pleased that you shared and took the time to write a bit about what you enjoyed at the Walking Pines Cabin.
The owners take much pride in their cabin and hope that all guests who choose to make the cabin their home for their stay, no matter how brief, is cozy and comfortable.
Thank you for sharing, we look forward to welcoming you back for another awesome stay!

Walking Pines was a wonderful house and was an outstanding choice. It was close to all activities and we enjoyed ourselves very much. House had a lot of space and comformable. Games (pool table and fursoball) were a hit for the 12 years old. Day park across the street was great for walking the dog and the boys riding their bikes. Service was outstanding. This was our second time we have rented from Gold Rush and we were just as happy.
We appreciate the time you spent sharing your experience at the Walking Pines cabin, not to mention your kind and generous compliments to our service.
Yes, the Walking Pines cabin is an outstanding example of a well loved home. This cabin has had many guests who have told us they look forward to returning to this cabin as it was everything they'd hoped for and more.
