This rustic charmer is tucked away in the back of its neighboring cabins. Your adventure begins as you drive off the paved street onto a dirt road and short drive to get to the cabin. There’s a paved driveway for parking.
The exterior of the cabin is truly the vintage style of yesteryear. The stairway leading to the front door is made completely of native rocks that were popularly used in mountain cabins during the era it was built. The same native rock was used to make the large rock fireplace that sits within the main room of the cabin.
The ambiance of the interior is just what you’d expect from a true mountain cabin built over sixty years ago. The kitchen’s cabinets line the entire side of one wall and are all knotty pine with a touch of gingerbread trim over the sink. Although vintage in look and feel the kitchen offers a microwave and brand new stove and oven. The new stove and oven are smaller than standard, yet allows convenience for preparing light snacks and meals. There’s a stack washer & dryer at one end.
The living room has a large native rock fireplace, perfect for warming yourself on chilly winter days or cold summer nights. The cabins interior walls are a mixture between completely paneled in knotty pine or accented with wanes coating of knotty pine. There is no carpet, all the floors are wood. The furnishings throughout are basic and dated which adds to its vintage charm. The updated 32" LG TV with Direct TV Channels is a welcome site for indoor entertainment.
There are three bedrooms, two downstairs and one on the upper level. All the bedrooms have their own television for DVD use only.
Casa Dena offers basic, simple, pleasures at affordable pricing, it’s the ideal place for a couple on a romantic weekend, a family getaway, or a men’s fishing trip. Whatever your situation is, this is an affordable cabin in Big Bear that you just can’t pass up!
Additional amenities include: fenced yard, pets friendly, washer/dryer....Read more

There wasn't enough silverware, no table knives, one teaspoon and five forks if we had six people one of them would have had to eat with a soup spoon. We brought disposable plates and bowls so I don't know if there were enough dishes. Over all very nice and comfortable. We brought extra blankets but didn't need them the blankets supplied were very warm. One of the out lets in the loft was dead and the bed in the loft is very noisy you could hear it through out the house when anyone sat on it or turned in their sleep (I was in the bedroom below).
We would rent from Gold Rush again. Very friendly staff. Very clean cabin

Our family had a great time while in the cabin the only problem with the rental is the drive way. In the winter there is a long uphill driveway that gets covered in snow and is nearly impossible to get up if you have a regular car even with chains. We had to haul all of our luggage and food up that hill in the snow. The snow plow never game to plow the driveway.
Thank you for sharing your experience at Case Dena. Yes, you are correct, the location that is usually a plus during other times of the year can be an occasional challenge at times over the winter season.
After our team member helped you in the home we contacted the owner letting them know that their plow vendor had not performed in the proper timing. They have assured us this will not happen again.
We are sorry, but hope that you felt supported by our staffs response in support of the adversity.
