Ski Rating 3.5 (Best for Intermediate and Expert Skiers) Ski in/ Ski out to Big Sky Resort
Ski Out - Ski down driveway and take a right. Follow the road past 5 houses to the Thunderwolf Lift Access.
Ski In - Intermediate and Expert take Silverknife to Bear Back Poma. Ski past the bottom of the Poma on the ski trail to Low Dog Road. From here ski the road back to the house.
We recommend beginners ski to the Summit Hotel and walk out the front of the hotel and ski the road the whole way back down to Low Dog Road. Silverknife may be too step for beginners.
During periods of melting the road could be exposed and cause the property to lose ski access since the road is necessary for parts of the process.
Nestled in the woods at the base of War Dance ski run this home offers a quiet retreat and post card like setting. Redecorated in 2012 the property has a lovely blend of contemporary and rustic. The back porch is perfect for grilling and soaking in the hot tub after a day on the slopes, fishing the local streams and hiking the greater Big Sky area. The layout is perfect for two families or the annual guys/gals ski trip. Close enough to Big Sky Resort Base to walk.
In the summer the home affords fantastic privacy, peacefulness, wildlife, easy access to hiking and biking trails and the sound of the Middle Fork Creek below the property on the other side of Low Dog Road.
The Location: Mountain Village, Big Sky Resort. Walking distance to the base area of the mountain. Ski-in or out to Big Sky.

The house was well-suited for two families with two master suites and two bunk rooms. We especially appreciated how stocked it was with bathroom and kitchen supplies. Location was walking distance to Big Sky resort and easy driving to groceries, shops, and restaurants. Clean, spacious, nicely decorated. And Big Sky Vacation Rentals was very easy and pleasant to work with.

We shared this beautiful house with another family. The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking utensils. The living spaces and bedrooms are very comfortable. We enjoyed the heated floor in the bathroom. Our girls enjoyed the loft area with the TV and wii. There is more than enough storage space for skis and equipment. We skied down low dog road to catch a lift and could ski the entire mountain from there.we loved it and will certainly plan to stay here again when we return if it all possible.

This house is beautifully decorated (I'd call it "modern cabin" decor) and very comfortable. My family vacationed with another family (both with tween-age kids) and it was perfectly suited to accommodate all of us comfortably. The location and scenery is nothing short of spectacular. It's walking distance to the resort's amenities, which we really enjoyed. It's a very short drive partway down the mountain to the town center, where the movie theater, groceries, restaurants, etc., are. The house was very clean when we arrived. This house helped make our vacation to Big Sky perfect.

We stayed at 4 Bears Den booked through Big Sky Vacation Rentals (book bigsky.com) I'll get to the house in a minute. But I want to rave about the service from the entire team at Big Sky Vacation rentals - warm friendly, welcoming. Months before we got to Big Sky these guys were offering advice and services - concierge, shopping, travel and driving advice. When we arrived at the end of quite a drive up from Jackson Hole WY we were met at the house by an incredibly warm, helpful informative host, Meghan. She was great. The house was perfect for us - 7 adult men from australia on a ski holiday. Spacious, well kitted out, beautifully furnished, easy for us to cook meals and to relax after a big day up on the hill. And they were big days, because it's a very big hill. If you're reading this, you already made the decision to come to MT (it's well worth it). You will need a car, though even without it you'll be fine as the guys at book big sky will pick you up and drop you off at restaurants etc. what a great home and really good value for money.
“4 Bear's Den is no doubt the best place we have ever stayed at i”

This home is absolutely beautiful and the furnishings add that perfect taste of wilderness to this wonderful place. The location truly is a ski-in ski-out home and we felt like we had the entire mountain to ourselves. Having our own private hot tub, a large living room and kitchen/dining area was perfect for our large group. It was an absolutely wonderful week and we can not wait to go back next year!
Thanks for staying with us! We are glad you loved this beautiful home. See you next year.

We had 7 fellas this year and 4 Bear's Den was perfect. The ski in, ski out was super easy. Didn't even need one of the rental cars. The service at Bsvr was very professional and accommodating. We changed houses about 6 weeks out and it was no problem. Recommended!

We stayed here for 4 nights and the house was great. The kitchen is a little limited on kitchenware and spices/condiments, but we only made breakfast there, so we had what we needed. The staff was very helpful and answered any question I had. We couldn't find a bottle opener anywhere in the house (very important for beer drinkers), so they delivered a bottle opened attached to a 6 pack of very nice local beer with a lovely note. Talk about personal service! I would definitely recommend this place and this management company to everyone.

We booked our family ski vacation after my wife and I stayed at 4 Bear's Den over the 4th of July this past summer. Our family of 4 (2 children 7 & 8) arrived late in the evening to a warm and cozy home during the middle of a snow storm. The next morning we were greeted with a fresh 7 or 8 inches of snow! We spent the next 5 days skiing, sledding and snowshoeing. The privacy this home provides in the summer is great but the snow covered trees in the winter make the privacy incredible. Each morning we would ski away from the home down Low Dog rd to Thunderwolf lift. After our ski day was over my wife and daughter would return to the home via the Poma lift and ski down Low Dog rd while my son and I would ski back to the home through the trees from Wardance ski run. Both return options were very convenient with the Wardance return option being more challenging. The home offered plenty of space, comfort and amenities with an upstairs loft area where our kids played Wii and watched T.V. When our kids were not skiing or relaxing in the loft area they were outside making snow forts, sledding or walking through the woods in the snow. As the evening came to a close we enjoyed spending time relaxing in the hot tub, listening to our son trying to name the stars and constellations in the sky. We loved the decor of the home and the convenient access to Big Sky resort where we would eat at least 1 meal/day. We will certainly be back!
