We so enjoyed our stay here. This home is just stunning, and the view will leave you speechless! The star gazing and sunsets we'll remember forever. The house is well appointed, immaculate and spacious. Beautiful original artwork throughout was also a treat.

Bella Vista was more than perfect. The views were amazing, and our surroundings were tranquil and serene- the exact vibe that we'd anticipated. We certainly appreciated the efforts in stocking an adequate amount of organic pantry goods, and especially loved the EO products, which added such a nice touch to the overall refreshing experience. The drive through the woods to get to the house was interesting though worth it.
We truly enjoyed our stay and will highly recommend your beautiful home to our friends and family. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to rent Bella Vista.

We had an amazing week in this beautiful house which is set high up in the hills above Big Sur - the perfect location for our family reunion. The views from the property are stunning, and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the deer, birds and dramatic sunsets from the balcony. Our children loved the garden trail and we all enjoyed relaxing in the hammocks.
The property is beautifully designed, very comfortable and with plenty of space for our group of 8. It is very well equipped and we very much appreciated all the lovely homely comforts (luxury hand soaps and lotions, gorgeous bed linen, little chocolates next to the beds etc). The information provided both before we arrived and in the books at the property were helpful and organised. We had a wonderful time exploring the beaches and trails in this incredibly beautiful area and cannot recommend Bella Vista highly enough.

A three day break in Big Sur during a busy study tour - I wasn't expecting the countryside to be as wildly beautiful, the scenery from the deck to be as stunning, and the property to be as luxurious and comfortable as it was. Everything you could possibly want was provided - all kitchen equipment, fancy shower gels, a well-stocked pantry, speedy wi-fi, peace, quiet, lots of different nooks and crannies to lunge about. Could not be faulted. As said in america - awesome!

If you plan to visit Big Sur with your family, staying at Bella Vista
is a must! The home is nestled in the rolling hills of Big Sur, which
makes it the perfect place to relax and get lost in the beauty of this
region. The rental was spacious enough to accommodate our family of 8 adults and perfect if you are visiting with multiple couples. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs and a studio-like set up downstairs complete with private bathroom and a smaller, but fully equipped kitchen. There are also quite a few futons that fold down into beds.
We were pleasantly surprised with how well equipped the kitchen and
pantry were. We were able to prepare all of our meals with ease and
were very appreciative of the spices and seasonings that were already
in stock. The housekeeper sent us a list of pantry items prior to our
arrival, which made meal planning that much easier.
We cannot say enough about the views! The dining room table and main room face a beautiful panoramic view of the rolling hills and ocean. Watching the sunset is a must! The balcony is perfect for a nighttime BBQ and star watching. It is incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Wake up in the morning to a breath taking view of the ocean and watch as deer come out to graze in the lush greens that surround the property.
If you enjoy the great outdoors, there are multiple hikes to discover
in the area. We were provided a list of about a dozen hikes with
accurate directions to get to the trailheads. We hiked 4 over the weekend and all were amazing! If you're looking to hike the Gorge or visit Pheiffer State Beach, they are only 15-min south on Hwy 1 from Bella Vista.
We cannot recommend this place enough. In addition, the owner of the
property was easily accessible by phone or email and was quick to
respond to any questions we had. We had such a wonderful experience
and truly enjoyed a weekend away with the family. We will definitely
keep this property in mind the next time we vacation in Big Sur.

Our family spent in your beautiful home gave us the most wonderful memories that we all will cherish forever! The home you've built is stunning and the artistic detail is incredible! Your views from your deck gave each of us a "calmness" that we all needed away from our every day chaotic lives! We can't thank you enough for allowing us to stay in paradise!

Our trip here has been like something out of a movie. The house is
breathtaking, and has made us feel at home. We had a great time hiking
through the mountains. The sunsets over the fog, the greenness and
radiance of life throughout, and beaches such as Pfeiffer Beach have
contributed to making this trip an unforgettable experience. Cw, thank you
for all the clear and detailed messages. You were very patient with us
in the booking process, and I want to thank you deeply for that. By
the feel of your home, I can tell that you two are very accepting,
genuine, and happy. Thank you for helping us have an amazing weekend!

Everything about this experience was ideal. Cw was great about getting back to me with info on availability, fees, etc. We were given detailed directions, info about the house, and pantry items so that we could adequately prepare for our trip. Finally, the house! The house is gorgeous, the views are breathtaking, and if you're lucky, you may see a deer, bunnies, or a quail family with little baby birds waddling around. The place is completely serene, quiet, and relaxing. There is a beautiful outdoor patio with grill, and nice indoor dining area overlooking the mountains. There is tons of light everywhere including skylights in the bathrooms so that you almost never have to turn lights on duringnthe day. The house is well-appointed with tons of clean towels, linens, cookware, utensils, pantry items. We have rented houses before in Northern and Southern California and this house is by far the best and welcoming so far. You can tell that the owners really want you to have the perfect experience as evidenced by a loaf of warm freshly baked bread with it's welcoming aroma wafting when you enter the house to the very well stocked pantry (above and beyond any other houses we have rented) to the hiking books and guides and fresh avocados plucked from their tree just waiting for you! Remember, bring up in the mountains leaves you fairly "unplugged" but the owners have an Internet capable flatscreen with hulu, Netflix, and pandora as well as wifi and a landline. They really did think of everything! If you can't tell by this review, the owners are also very easy to work with as well. In addition, I felt for all of this, the price was very reasonable. We were also very close to great hikes and Carmel (but you won't want to leave the house!) We really had a wonderful time and hope to be back soon!

Today more than ever we need fresh clean air, beautiful things with which to fill our eyes and minds, enchanting songs of birds to fill our ears, all so that we can let our spirits soar to regain a true sense of life. Thank you, CW and Ellen, for giving us such an opportunity and for providing a space so inviting where we could allow ourselves to be wrapped in the loving embrace of mother nature.

Our family of four stayed at Bella Vista over Christmas and had a wonderful few days there. The house is both elegant, homely and very well equipped , the views simply extraordinary and the owners so helpful and thoughtful - they even put up a small Christmas tree and lights just for our stay. A few days which will stay in our memories for a very long time.
