Being at Caleb's is a lot like being at a B&B;, someone will be there to welcome you in.This is a very spacious but cozy vacation home with a lot to offer to make your stay a comfortable one. Caleb's Outlook is in a very nice neighborhood with good neighbors to make you feel safe as you would at home. If you vacation or travel a lot then you have had a lot of good and maybe not so good experiences. You leave home hoping to find just the right place, right? If finding a place with room to get comfortable without getting stir- crazy is on your list then Caleb's is it. Caleb's Outlook sits in a neighborhood with great views and great neighbors. The view is spectacular no matter what the weather or season. Caleb's is surrounded by rhododendrons and large trees. The view of Grandfather Mountain will take your breath away! Enjoy the view on the high back deck, where you can grill your burgers and view the sun setting behind the mountain. Sitting on the back deck, living room or even from the bedroom window you have a straight on view of Grandfather Mountain and the famous Viaduct. Take a walk through the Misty Mountain neighborhood, where you are as likely to come across a deer as a neighbor. Enjoy the winter weather- there's a good chance of snow in the winter months!- or come for the mild Spring and Fall temperatures, or to beat the heat in the Summer. But if you have on your list that you want to be in the middle of a bustling little town then you might rather find a place in town. Some folks like to stay in the midst of it all and Blowing Rock does have a lot to offer. Downtown Blowing Rock is 5 short miles away on scenic Hwy 221. You are minutes from a great variety of restaurants and shops in Blowing Rock- one of the local favorites is Woodland's Barbecue. There you will find live entertainment on a small scale. Let Gene serenade you with a little guitar playing- his singing is not bad either. As you walk in you will find the initial floor to be most suitable for families. While in town be sure to check out the park in downtown Blowing Rock- plenty of playground equipment plus basketball and tennis courts. Most people like to stroll the streets, pick up some candy or ice cream and sit down and enjoy in the park. And if you are an adventurer then Skiing and Tubing are close by at Ski Mountain and Hawk's Nest. The Blue Ridge Parkway is just 3 miles from our vacation home. You are close to so many great outdoor activities, but you may end up spending all of your time right at Caleb's Outlook. Enjoy cooking in the partially renovated kitchen, stretch out on the queen-sized bed, and open up the queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room for additional sleeping space for an extra couple or the children. The cathedral ceiling adds to the feeling of roominess in the living room. You have plenty of home entertainment options- We have Netflix in the living room and bedroom, along with Dish Satellite service. There is also a Wii with two controlls in the livingroom, and a VCR/DVD player in the bedroom. We have a large selection of DVDs and VHS tapes. There are "low tech" entertainment choices as well- board games including Andy Griffith Trivia, and plenty of good reading materials.
We enjoy renting different houses ourselves on our travels, and we always look for rentals that are fair in price, with no hidden or extra fees. We have tried to make our rental prices fair and economical.

The end of September, my wife and I stayed a full week at Caleb's Outlook in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. We were well pleased when we arrived at the cabin. We felt very safe because it was in a nice community, but yet had its privacy. On the back deck, there was a great view of Grandfather Mountain. We were also very pleased with the well equipped kitchen. The gas logs in the fireplace made it very cozy on cool mornings and evenings. The small town of Blowing Rock was quaint and friendly. The larger town of Boone was only 9 miles away. We had no complaints and plan to return in the near future. Read more

Thanks for allowing us to use your cottage. We had a great time in the town of Blowing Rock and really enjoyed relaxing on your beautiful deck with it's great view of the mountains. We found everything we needed. The cottage was nice and clean when we arrived and the maid even stopped by once to make sure we had everything we needed.

On a whim I decided I wanted to go to the mountains for the weekend. I went on Vrbo and found Caleb's Outlook. It was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. You can't beat the location - close to Blowing Rock, Boone, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Moses Cone Memorial Park. Plenty of shopping, dining, hiking and other fun attractions.
Caleb's Cabin is in a nice development - a great place for walking. The cabin offers a beautiful long-range mountain view from the deck and there are some spectacular views thoughout the community. Read more

My husband and I spent a lovely long weekend at Caleb's Outlook in Blowing Rock, NC. From the beginning, the owners were wonderful to work with. They responded quickly to every email we sent, and made sure we had all the information we needed prior to arriving at the cabin. The cabin itself was very clean and comfortable; it had the welcoming feel of staying in a friend's home for the weekend. The mountain views from the living room and deck were beautiful; unless you try you can't see a neighbor at all and it feels like you're alone at the top of the mountain. Located a short 5-minute drive from downtown Blowing Rock, it was easy to head to town for dinner or strolling down Main St, and the Blue Ridge Parkway was even closer. There is so much to do in and around Blowing Rock, and Caleb's Outlook is a perfect base for exploring the town and surrounding area. We would highly recommend Caleb's Outlook, and would love to rebook the cabin for our next visit to Blowing Rock. Read more

House was wonderful & rustic, linens were provided, kitchen was very complete. Loved the gas fireplace in the great room.
The view was terrific, and the little street on Misty Mountain was pretty and nice for walks.
Owners were really friendly and accommodating.
Would stay again any time, in fact will probably try to rent again in the summer.
Only suggestions: dresser in bedroom to unpack for longer stays, more lamps, & stronger light bulbs.
Overall, it was great! Read more
Glad you had a great stay! My husband has been complaining to me about the lighting since day one. He added the Tiffany light in the dining, two wall fixtures and three lamps but it does seem a little dim. Plus we added that ceiling fan with lights. There was a dresser in the bedroom but we moved it out to put in the entertainment center. When we make it back out that way we will certainly address those issues. We want our guests to be more comfortable than if they were at home. Glad you love the Holly Lane, we fell in love with the view and the narrow lane. You were wonderful guests to have . Hurry back!
Peaceful Getaway, Year-Round attraction

We visited during the week in the spring, so we missed many events ongoing throughout the year but it was the perfect getaway for my son and I. In addition to many admission attractions, there's so much to do for free!
Caleb's Outlook is couched within unspoiled surroundings that instantly give rise to a peace within that made me feel like I never wanted to leave. We were left wanting for nothing: dishwasher, washer/dryer, sheets, dishes, hair dryer, etc. (the towels are to die for!) I was able to even work while during downtime, as they have Internet access! (Handy for looking up attractions and restaurants). My son could play in the yard while I watched from the deck. After dark, there were plenty of entertainment options (video games, movies) provided to keep him occupied The savings from what we would have spent dining out, and the convenience of having all the luxuries of home, made returning home was less stressful than your average vacation. We really enjoyed the whimsical black bear dishes, in the midst of the surrounding wilderness.
We were able to visit Linville Caverns (a must see of natural wonder). Admission is reasonable, and it's only a short drive. I'm not a fan of big crowds and commercialism, so this area couldn't have been more perfect. It was a great time for connecting with my son, getting away from the everyday rat race, and rejuvenating. And Tony and Sybil couldn't be more accommodating. They were very concerned about our comfort and satisfaction, and patient with the directionally challenged (despite having looked up the directions ahead of time).
Blowing Rock is a destination I would choose for a getaway any time of year, and I plan on eventually hitting all four seasons. Its natural beauty is breathtaking. And I can only hope Caleb's Outlook is available for each of those return visits! Thanks for a wonderful stay!
We look forward to having you back real soon. Glad you had a great stay!

My family and I visited last month and had a great stay. The owners provide all the comforts of home. We enjoyed cooking in the spacious kitchen and took advantage of the grill on the porch. My children slept well and had plenty of room to play inside during the cold hours. We visited many restaurants and shops that were close without being too close. The road the house is on provided us a place to take daily walks. We will be returning. Thanks again
We loved the accommodations inside and the views outside!

We could not have been more pleased with our three-day stay at Caleb's Outlook! The location happened to be perfect for us, as we were returning home from visiting family further south, and it was almost on the way. It is in a nice neighborhood, good for taking walks, and touristy (even in February!) towns are not far away. Seems to have been recently renovated, as it is very well equipped -- satellite tv, lots of video games, plenty of pots and pans, and linens. We bought a meal nearby one day, bought food and did our own cooking the others. Grilling on the deck, with the fantastic mountain view, was wonderful and very relaxing -- then, as the evening was cold, going inside to the gas log fireplace brought the day to a perfect end.
Seems that this would be an ideal getaway spot any season of the year. Will definitely return. Read more
Thanks and hurry back! Glad everything suited you. We have not been renting Caleb's Outlook for very long so we do appreciate the review.

My family and I went for three nights last week. We had a great stay. The house was very comfortable and clean. I was worried because the house has only one bedroom, but the children slept on the sofa bed. They loved sleeping by the fire and looking straight out a magnificent view of the mountains. The whole house is so spacious we were all very comfortable. My husband loved being so close to Blowing Rock without having to be right in the middle of town. We will be returning this summer to take the children to Tweetsie Railroad. Thanks again for sharing your home with us. Read more
