This quaint spotlessly clean bungalow style home is the perfect seaside retreat. From Deer Lake take the Viking Trail hwy #430 to Wiltondale. From Wiltondale go left on hwy 431 to near the end of the road. Located between the Beach Rd (fisherman warf) and the High Rd. From the Beach Rd it is located near the Government warf, notice the red barn and wooden steps up to the property. However best to park from the high Rd where it says "SUSAN"S" then you can walk down with your bags rather then carry up the stairs. Barn is red , roof to house is steel and bright red. Paved drive and parking for 2 cars.
Nestled inside of Gros Morne National World Heritage Park. Woody Point existed prior to the parks establishment. So the town is allowed to remain but no further development is allowed. The rustic cottage is located at the base of a mountain close to the sea. This location was once a fjord and the steep elevations you see around you continue below the water line. Making for very deep waters between 400 ft-700 ft deep. Access to the park's Discovery Center and hiking trails is a five minute drive. From the Discovery Center you will be able to talk with a park interpreter about what trails would suit you as well as join in the guided trail hikes that the park frequently offers. This is a great starting point to your vacation.

Take a walk to downtown Woody Point where you will find an the Granite internet cafe which is great for breakfast as long as you're not in a hurry. Warehouse Restaurant and Pub, The Fishermans Loft Restaurant , numerous craft shops and a pottery studio wine bar. Two grocery store that sell liquor,a library with internet connection, and the Woody Pt Heritage Theatre . Check the bill board for musical events and theatre performances. The Writers at Woody Point Festival is held at the Heritage Theatre. For more information about the festival check their web site.

There is a water taxi ( within walking distance) available during the summer months. For $6 (2013 rates) you can go across the bay to Norris Point. At Norris point you can visit the Marine Station's fabulous exhibit of aquatic life. From Norris point you can depart aboard the Cat (large touring boat) for a tour of Bonne Bay.
Trout River also offers a boat tour up the fjord and is in the next community a 20 minute drive away.
