“A great base for discovering amalfi coast, Sorrento and Capri” Villa Luca, also known by locals as Villa Lamaro, is located in the tiny village of San Pedro, 6 km from Sorrento city center (close to Naples). Just turn right 50m after the amalfi Coast Road makes a final top, before starting to drop down all the way on a long curvy serpentine, toward the village Positano. The villa is cca. 150m from the Coast Road, very calm, and with cultivated gardens around. The Villa Luca faces south, is located on a huge coastal rock, right at the edge, 200m above the water, with breathtaking view. The view is perfect from all bedrooms and terraces, and you will never forget it. The sunshine plays from morning till sunset on the green mountains to the left, and on the exceptionally blue seawater to the right as far as your eyes can see. The Villa is located best for daytrips with car to Sorrento, to amalfi, to Positano, to Capri by boat, to Naples and even to the palaces of the past Naples Kings, who were building large palaces to compete to Versailles. The Villa has 2 elegant living rooms on the ground floor, best to organize lively private party, with huge terraces to barbecue, or just enjoy the sunshine. A large kitchen and dining room is just next to them. We stayed in mid May there, and this was a great timing to catch the sun while not yet exceedingly hot. I suggest to consider May-June and Sept-Nov period for those who love to make daytrips, and want avoid the crowd. A couple of good Italian restaurants are 500 m from the villa with great seaview. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, with nice oldstyle bathrooms. Luca, the owner-host is a friendly multilingual guy in his 30's, and he will sure to help you feel comfortable and happy. A cleaning lady comes along daily to keep the kitchen and rooms tidy. I would highly recommend Villa Luca to people of 3-4 couples, for a great vacation together, or as a venue for a small-midsize wedding party. Janos Pomper, Hungary
