“Great Experience!” Great experience, place and staff! Would definatley stay again. The room was clean and grounds were beautiful. We rented a scooter to get into town, which was a few minutes away. Nice and quiet and felt very safe! Staff were very helpful and were always available to help us if needed.

“honeymoon in Ubud” Villa Orchid is a dreamy little estate which is bedded on a hill amidst the rice fields outside of Ubud. While the rural surroundings make for a very immediate exposure to Balinese everyday-life, the secluded premises of Villa Orchid feature a markedly well-kept garden, a fabulous pool and two stylish and roomy bungalows (my wife and I stayed in the 'Frangipani' bungalow, which has a beautiful porch facing sunset over the rice terraces.) Yuni and Gerhard were very friendly and supportive hosts. They provided helpful advice concerning touristic attractions nearby (like the amazing 'Kecak' dance performed by the people of a neighboring village) organized day trips if requested or gave us a ride to the city of Ubud (for the way back, it is usually necessary to take a taxi which involves quite some bargaining), where there is a lot to discover in terms of rites & culture. Ubud has a wealth of good and affordable restaurants, too, and many local artists present their work in galleries. It is even possible to walk to Ubud from Villa Orchid - the way leads through small villages and along vast rice fields, we took this walk twice during our stay and enjoyed it very much. We particularly cherished the peaceful and secluded days at the pool - since we were the only guests for most of our stay, we felt completely undisturbed. Being relatively new to travelling in the tropics, we were sometimes startled by unexpected wildlife guests in our bungalow, but there's nothing to be done about that. To sum up, Villa Orchid is a perfect vantage point for trips & tours in the area of Ubud (nicer than staying in a hotel in Ubud!), we had a great time.

“Sublime tropical villa” We give this Villa 5 or 6 stars of the possible rating (of maximum 5) because of: * the beauty of the villa * the amazing tropical garden * the gorgeous pool. However, internet connectivity caused anxiety on the first day; and when 'sorted' on the 2nd day, was still not reliable. We totally recommend this exquisite and private retreat. We will be back ... when the internet problem is sorted. We very appreciated Kay's plants in the tropical garden - and the absolute beauty that surrounded us in her villa..

“Fantastic place to stay and unwind”” Fantastic place to stay and unwind" Reviewed October 18, 2013 new Have recently had a 9 day stay with my wife at the Bonsai villas and what a great experience it was, the staff treated us with respect and were very helpful nothing seemed to be to much trouble. Tucked away from the busy main road the Villas was very quite, one would say that the bonsai was very romantic. The rooms were cleaned daily as were the ever changing towel designs the pool was always clean I will return to the Bonsai in the near future. “Fabulous little villa - cannot recommend enough” Frangipani Villa was lovely, we were met at the airport and transported back to the Villa, a journey of about half an hour. The place was spotless and they had stocked the fridge for us with fruit, bacon, eggs etc, that was a lovely touch as the last thing we wanted to do was go out shopping. The pool was lovely and just perfect for my young children learning to swim. Everything we needed was there, stereo, tv, DVD player and wifi (this wasn't working when we arrived but it was fixed as soon as it could be). I can't recommend this place enough, it was a little bit out of the main drag but this suited us and the taxis are very cheap and are there almost instantly when you call for one. There is a lovely restaurant in Nusa Dua that we went to a few times called Nyomens, they picked you up and dropped you home for free. There was a real wide range of food. There were 14 of us there for dinner and they were so accommodating, all of us had lovely meals there too and it was very reasonable. Also, all of the shops along there stay open fairly late so if you are after last minute souvenirs as you were too busy sunbathing during the day, it's perfect. If you get the opportunity to rent this property - do! You're getting so much for your money.

“A Balinese village getaway, spotlessly clean and well appointed, and a short walk to shops and restaurants.” We stayed at Kupa Kupa Villa for one week in March 2014 and really enjoyed it. It was our first trip to Bali, and we opted for the airport pick up. It was punctual, friendly and good value, and far easier than trying to find our own way. As indicated on the Tripadvisor listing, the paths accessing the villa may not be suitable for the physically challenged, but our 60-something legs didn’t find them a problem. Actually the walks to and from the villa provided an interesting experience of Balinese village life. We stayed in the upper level villa. It was well appointed and spotlessly cleaned daily by the caretakers who also made a good breakfast. All the furniture including the double bed was in top condition. The terrace was a great place to relax and it offered nice rural views. The villa’s pool is small but deep and more than adequate for relief from the heat after a trip out to the many surrounding sights, or a walk up from Candidasa. The warungs, restaurants and shops along the main road and beachfront in Candidasa offer plenty of choice and a range of standards and costs. If we didn’t feel like walking too far, the German/Indonesian café at the bottom of the access stairs provided good meals and snacks. Overall, a great place to stay and relax away from the frenetic life of places like Kuta and Ubud. Good value too. Recommended.
