“An answer to prayer.” We needed a house large enough to accommodate our party of seven from England in Bellingham for our daughter's wedding. We found Erik extremely helpful when sorting out the booking and also during our week long stay. The house is beautiful and in a very peaceful area close to Whatcom Falls. The hot tub was very popular as was the barbeque. The weather was good and we were fascinated by the deer who wandered through the garden. We were made to feel very welcome by Erik and we were able to relax and enjoy what was a very busy week for us leading up to the wedding. We have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending this vacation home.

About Bellingham

The city of Bellingham combines scenic attractions with a big-city atmosphere, making it one of the most popular destinations in the state. Whether you're looking for excellent museums such as the Bellingham Railway Museum, fine dining and nightlife options, or the natural beauty of the San Juan Islands, Bellingham offers something for every type of traveler. Commercial Street is the center of the action in Bellingham, with live entertainment every single night of the week. For quaint cafes and boutique shopping, go for a walk down Railroad Avenue.

Here are a few additional suggestions of things to do in Bellingham:

  • Try the Wines: Vartanyan Estate Winery is just one of the popular wineries in the area that offer tours of their vineyards throughout the week.
  • Lake Padden: This popular local lake is an excellent spot for kayaking, rowing, and swimming.
  • South Hill Neighborhood: For a great afternoon stroll, head to this neighborhood where beautiful and historic homes overlook the bay.
  • American Museum of Radio and Electricity: With over 1,000 vintage radios on site, visitors can listen to radio programs that are 80 years old and observe a replica of the Titanic's radio room.

As one of the bigger cities in Washington, it should come as no surprise that there is a major event or festival taking place in Bellingham every month of the year. Sample the newest beers from local brewers at the April Brews Day in April, watch downtown streets become filled with artwork from kids and adults during the Chalk Art Festival in August, or attend live performances by the top blues artists in the country at the Mt. Baker Blues Festival in July.

A vacation rental is the preferred option for those staying in Bellingham. Rent a beautiful apartment with easy access to the lake, or a luxury condo downtown. There are plenty of affordable properties here that will make for a wonderful vacation home. If you have some extra time to explore the surrounding area, the metropolis of Seattle and the Canadian city of Vancouver can both be reached in less than two hours by car.
