Wiona at Villa Paraiso - Luxury on the Beach with Private Pool and A/C

Isla Colon villa

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

““A lovely Home - just perfect for a caribbean splash!”” Wow. Just so amazing. We had the best time. We did all the great adventure trips around the Bocas Islands and felt home in this lovely house. Everyday we played a little ping pong at the appartement and swam in the beautiful pool. The Owners Boy's were really helpful and kind! Unfortunatly we didn't have the time to use the kayaks but we loved to cruize around the island with the two bikes we received from the owners. It was absolute paradise! Thanks a lot for this! ps. for everyone who thinks colon is just a party island - in Villa Paraiso you don't feel any of the town's nightlife just if you want, you can take a little bike ride into town, which is really refreshing and have a drink or two or three :-)

Bocas Town house

“beautiful time, lovely lodging!” Once I found the purple house in Saigon, I have never stayed anywhere else. I always feel so at home! The amenities are unparalleled: comfortable bedrooms replete with aC, table lamp, and walk in-closet; a true kitchen; lots of windows/light; a porch with sofa and hammock...everything you need to make your home-away-from-home is at arm's reach - you can experience true living. The hospitality is wonderful; your run on the beach is two minutes away. There's also a fantastic balance between living in the community and having your own private space -- this is a rarity in Bocas. If you want to truly vacation while feeling immersed in Panama, this is your spot!

“Rewind & Recharge” You'd think someone from the Hawaiian Islands would choose a different vacation locale. But I'm glad I didn't. This place was like Maui X 10!! We there for one week and received more aloha than ever. The property is steps from the ocean and has everything you need. Walk to the local store or take a boat taxi to the other islands. The best thing was not having to drive car for a week. What a way to rewind!

“Amazing Experience and Place” I cannot say enough great things about Bocas and Sandi's place. It was an amazing vacation thanks to the world's greatest host Sandi and her beautiful property, great cooking, conversation and help with finding things to do. The house itself is the perfect home base. Close to town but also close to some amazing beaches - some we had all to ourselves all day. We loved riding her bikes to explore the beaches and grab cocktails along the way. Sandi is an amazing host and an unexpected treat. We cooked dinner together one night and had many, many laughs. I personally loved the outdoor shower and hanging out on the porch. My boyfriend spent many hours in the hammock. Sandi even helped us line up private massages in our house. It was one of the best massages ever - highly recommend it. The house has everything you need - books, TV, Sandi's local knowledge, a well stocked kitchen, bikes and much more. We can't wait to go back to stay longer.

“DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE” My wife, myself and 2 other couples stayed here for a week in March. We had a great time. The house is truly unbelievable. We spent most of our time snorkeling around the house where we saw many fish and other sea creatures. The owners also help arrange daily trips. Nearby is a totally amazing beach with numerous amounts of Starfish. We are planning to come back next year. DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE!

Isla Colon house

“Perfect Panama Experience” For our family spending Christmas together in Panama Casa de K was an absolutely delightful place to relax and explore - clean, quiet, comfortable, while still feeling like we on a jungle adventure. While drinking coffee we watched gorgeous tropical birds from the upstairs veranda, identifying dozens of new species with the help of the Birds of Panama book which the owner provided. We strolled the beach right in front of Casa de K, collecting shells, watching the surf break and spotting monkeys swinging by in the trees. We cooked meals and tried local produce at least once a day in the very nice kitchen. Twice we walked into town, and several other times we took a taxi, and Bocas Town is delightful; good restaurants, quaint shops and small enough to explore on foot. One Bocas experience which I would highly recommend is chartering a boat for a tour around the island. Our family spent a delightful day with a Bocas native in his boat; including a chance to wade and see starfish on an isolated beach, a stop at a remote beachfront cantina for lunch and drinks, and a trip out to some dramatic rocky islands. Our family was all smiles after a week at Casa de K.

Isla Colon villa

“Amazing place” I was looking for a place to spend 10 days with my grandmother and wanted to go to the Caribbean side of Panama but far from noise and party Bocas town. Wanted to enjoy her and her bday. I researched a lot other places around and others in town, I read all reviews they have in two websites and I choosed Paraiso Escondido. I know when we look at the general pictures things might be different when we get there, but this place is amazing, maintenance outside and inside is very good, the water and coral reef are clean and incredible. The house and surroundings are even better than the pictures. Another thing that surprised us was the attention received. Poly and Lyo are very helpfull, happy and gentil, we felt with friends. They will be there when you want or need. There are several tours options in town if you take a boat with 20 or 30 people, or go in a private boat with Paraiso Escondido. We took one trip in town and then two other trips with Paraiso Escondido. Recommended Islas Zapatilla!! not recommended Star fish on Sunday. We tried different restaurants in town and didnt like much, then we asked if Lyo could cook for us, it was very delicious and fair price *try the octopus risotto. This place is enchanted, for people who love nature and want peace and if you know what you are looking for. Thanks to Poly and Lyo

“Fantastic” Stayed here for 2 night with a friend. Fantastic visit. Close enough to the beach you can hear the surf to lull you to sleep. Very few bugs. Gungula is a wealth of information about the local fauna and wildlife that abounds the place. Howler monkeys right off the porch both days, several sloths. Lots of Parrots. Great beach. This place is off the grid, a real tropical get a way with all the comforts of home.

About Bocas del Toro Province

Bocas del Toro Province, Panama

A true Caribbean paradise, these islands offer gorgeous white sun-kissed beaches, transparent, warm waters and incredibly-colored marine life. There's national parks to visit and a restaurant on stilts above water to dine at. Why wouldn't you come here? Book your Bocas del Toro vacation rental today with FlipKey.

About Bocas del Toro Province

A laid-back archipelago with a friendly and laid-back Caribbean feel, Bocas del Toro consists of one mainland and nine islands, and is just off Panama.

The capital, Bocas del Toro on Colon Island, was built to house workers of the United Fruit Company back in the early 1900s. Because of this, the airport is just five minutes’ walk from the town's main street, and the town itself a mere 20 minutes’ walk from end to end.

Unlike other areas of the Caribbean, Bocas del Toro's low southern latitude means it isn't prey to hurricanes. But it still has those gorgeous tropical white sandy beaches and transparent calm azure blue waters that are a magnet for sun worshipers and those who love their watersports.

Christopher Columbus visited Bocas del Toro back in 1502. Today, most residents still find it easier to get about by boat rather than motorized transport.

What to do

Explore as many of the neighboring islands as you can on a motorboat trip.

See how much wildlife, such as adorable sloths and capuchin monkeys, you can spot by visiting the Monkey Farm Botanic Garden. It's 10 hectares of 'trained' rainforest which also contains some incredibly exotic birds.

Cycle around 10 miles from the town of Bocas del Toro to the village of cattle farmers known as Colonia Santena where you can go caving in waist-high water while looking for bats in La Gruta.

See if you can spot any finger nail-sized red frogs on Red Frog Beach in the Isla Bastimentos National Marine Park. At the same time, snorkel to spot parrotfish and angelfish. Look out for leatherback turtles on Playa Larga Beach.

Dine at Crawl Cay Restaurant (a series of huts on stilts above the water) and snorkel while the cook prepares your food.

Top Bocas del Toro travel tips

Cross island buses between Boca del Drago and Bocas del Toro town run six times a day, take an hour and cost $2.50. You can hire canoes and motor boats on the waterfront, but make sure the owner comes back for you by only paying him on the return journey.

Always cover up, even when coming or going to the beach. It's against the law not to.

Hot and dry, tropical and colorful, Bocas del Toro is a stunning resort and one which you won't forget in a hurry. Actually, you won't do anything here in a hurry, such is the leisurely pace of the islanders! Chill out and join them with a FlipKey vacation rental.

Eagles Nest Apartment
Wonderful apartment

We stayed in this new 1 bedroom apartment for 2 months at the begining of this year and it was very comfortable. There is no view of the beach but it is very relaxing to hear the sound of the waves as the beach is across the street so it is easily seen. The apartment is surrounded by tropical plants, trees and the nice sound of the birds. The kitchen is very well furnished, it also has a nice shower and a confortable bed. The location (on the outskirts of Bocas Town) makes it peaceful and it is easy to get a taxi ($0.60 takes you anywhere in Bocas Town in a shared taxi).see more

Snorkelling off the deck!

We had a wonderful time staying in the yellow house. We were able to snorkel right off the deck and just relax. We saw wonderful things flying and swimming by and had the most wonderful hosts. Lyo and Poli were so friendly and available. Leo fixed us a most excellent seafood dinner one night. We had a 3 and 6 year old and what a perfect spot! They had so much fun. We looked at many other places to stay in Bocas but this was the perfect fit. It was a splurge for us but it was incomparable. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!see more

The only place to stay in Bocas del Toro

First time in Panama - and this was the best place we stayed! The setting right on the beach with beautiful gardens is unbeatable. The luxury of your private pool over-looking your personal beach is beyond compare. The accommodations are clean, modern and have everything you could need. The hosts are professional and have excellent knowledge of the area and recommendations of things to see and do. One of the best snorkeling experiences we've had was thanks to them.see more
Bocas Condos - One Bedroom Apartment
Great Location and comfortable stay!

My son and I stayed here for 3 days. The location was perfect. It was close to the action of town but far enough where we didn't get the noise of town. The only "noise" we could complain about is an early morning rooster or a barking dog but that's the price you pay for the convenience of being close to town.-- We booked through Trip Advisor and got a very prompt response from James to give us availability and price which included a $200 deposit which was refundable after our stay if we left the unit in good condition. We flew into Bocas and were able to walk easily to the building from the airport. Checking in was easy. There were some very firm rules regarding the unit which were manageable for us (i.e. no smoking, turn off air conditioner when not in unit.) We had a 2nd floor one-bedroom unit which was very clean and comfortable for our needs. It wasn't anything "fancy" but Bocas is a casual town and it had everything we needed. We like staying in condos because we generally don't need the "amenities" that a hotel would offer. For example I don't want to pay the price for maid service because I don't want someone coming into my room everyday. We felt the security of the building and unit was great. For the price, you cannot beat the value. We are planning a more extended trip to Bocas del Toro in the future and will definitely stay here again.see more

Our WONDERFUL stay at Casa de K

Words cannot fully capture the absolutely amazing time we had at the oceanfront Casa de K home and in Bocas del Toro!! I simply did not want to leave!!! Lounging on the front porch in the hammocks, couch and chairs while watching and listening to the waves, seeing the tropical birds fly from tree to tree, feeling the ocean breezes, and sinking into pure relaxation was incredible and almost dream-like!! We were also treated to monkeys in the backyard trees on three occasions during our week-long stay! During sunrise walks down the road, we saw toucans, monkeys and countless tropical birds. During our visit to the nearby botanical garden, we even saw a sloth! We enjoyed watching the surfers from the front porch while drinking our coffee in the morning. During our time in Bocas town, we enjoyed numerous delicious meals, the highlight being Ultimo Refugio for dinner. We took water taxis to various islands to destinations such as Red Frog Beach on Bastimentos (the warmest water and best beach I've ever visited) and to The Blue Coconut for lunch and snorkeling. I have traveled all over the world and stayed at a variety of accommodations. This trip stands out as one of my absolute favorites!!!!see more

Even more beautiful than it looks in the pictures

The reef begins at your front porch, The water is warm. We saw beautiful fish, eels, and sting rays. The house has everything you need: stove, refrig.,fans. mahogany floors. Very clean and well kept. They had a kayak for us and snorkeling equipment onsite. Manuel was available to bring us to town and picked us up at Supermercado Isla Colon when we arrived. There is plenty to do. Starfish beach has great food and drinks. Red Frog Beach is beyond beautiful. Make sure you don't use a guy named Raul that tries to get you at the airport for any of your boat tours. Ask for Carlos aka Tyson. He's fair and very informative and entertaining. We also took an amazing tour of a chocolate plantation.see more
