Maison Juliette: luxury 4BR in Carcassonne center

Carcassonne Center house

4 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms / sleeps 9

“Stately and Comfortable - Great Place to Stay” This is a great house. Grand rooms are clean, comfortable, and described accurately. The private outdoor space is a lovely respite after a day of walking the city. Included are thoughtful extras like maps, bus schedules, shopping bags, umbrellas, and a market cart. It was warm while we were in Carcassonne, but the house stays cool and catches a good breeze if you manage the shutters as they suggest. The owners have created the most helpful and informative guest manual that I've ever seen and they have been wonderful people to work with. I won't hesitate to recommend Maison Juliette to friends and family.

Chez Grady French holiday Cottage near Carcassonne

Carcassonne Center house

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Comfortable, clean & welcoming” Have stayed with Debbie & Steve a couple of times. They have done a great job converting part of their home into this very comfortable gite, with all modern facilities. They are excellent hosts - on hand if needed but respecting one's privacy and very much aware that it is your holiday home for the duration. The location is very handy for Carcassone, the canal du Midi & many local sites & attractions. Limoux is the nearest large & very pleasant market town. We have also stopped off in our campervan en route to Spain. Their large barn offers plenty of space + hook up and, if the gite is free, lovely shower to be had! They will also produce delicious meals on request. The only downside is the lack of facilities in the village, although there is bread delivery. Would thoroughly recommend for a quiet, typically French rural stay.

Rustic Castle with Breathtaking Countryside Views - Chateau de Chance

Aragon house

6 bedrooms / 5 bathrooms / sleeps 12

“Patricia's review of Chateau de Chance” We had the best time at the chateau. We were in Aragon for 4 weeks and felt like part of the village community. The real treat was the welcome from the locals and although there were language issues, that didnt stop them from chatting away to us daily. We had a different group of friends each week over the 4 weeks and that worked very well. The property was is a living village. It was beautiful and peaceful and provided privacy for a large group with lots of areas for relaxation and quiet time. The kitchen was amazing with the best stove and equipment--although a second fridge would not have gone astray. We loved to have Chef Nick come in each Sunday for our special dinner that we called 'Sunday Funday'. We also loved going to Sebastian's for croissants each morning and a late afternoon ale. Sebastian has the local store/bar/epicure/community centre. He is priceless and we will miss him. Le Bergerie is a Michelin restaurant about 70 m from the front door. We had a dinner there each week and the food and service were excellent. The best you will find anywhere. Truly amazing. We also enjoyed Carcassonne and visiting the surrounding towns. Must dos include Lastours, Limoux, Minerve and markets at Mirepoix. We would also recommend hiring cycles at the railway and doing the trip to Trebes along the Canal du Midi.

“Delightful apartment in lovely location” This was a lovely apartment - two cute double bedrooms with their own ensuites and a gorgeous modern and spacious loungeroom and kitchen. If you, like us, were hauling the 20kg of suitcase each, well, you paid for it as there is no lift. A rooftop space for being outside and looking across other rooftops. Ample windows meant it was very light - but also very hot. Even with the ability to close up the place. We found that the aircon just couldn't handle the heat. Lots of mod cons and nice thoughtful extra bits. A good place for couples and the third room with bunks accommodates a couple more

Gite 1 heated pool 5 miles/8 km Carcassonne perfect prices for perfect holidays
Brilliant

Has a brilliant time here in gites de cabardes. The weather was good but not so scorching that we werent able to do anything. There was a bit of a breeze which was good whilst we were around the pool. The te;p of the water was around 30 deg which suited us down to the ground. The area has lots to offer and of course we went into Carcassonne as sell as seeing a cathar castle and just beautiful countryside. The gite was clean, well equipped and had everything we needed. Jenny was very helpful with booking and recommending restaurants and we enjoyed a glass of local wine with her.see more

Anne's review of Carcassonne Castle - Chateau de Chance

Delightful. Great to come "home" after a day of sightseeing. We each had our own space, but there were great gathering points in the living room and outdoors. We had good WiFi down stairs. Once we found out about the walking trails in Aragon we really enjoyed them. Further afield we enjoyed Carcasonne, driving up into the Pic Nor, down to the coast and Collieure, into the chateau de Peyrepertuse area.see more
Carcassonne Penthouse in the heart of Bastide
truely spacious penthouse in fabulous location

This penthouse is in a perfect location for shops on your doorstep, fresh coissants in the morning and the supermarket around the corner. The medieval town is about a 10 minute walk over the old bridge with lots of beautiful sights to see. The penthouse is light and airy with a big roof terrace where you can see the rooftops of Carcassonne. The owner Sophie is very helful and attentive. Look no further as this is truely value for money !!There is only one drawback, no lift when you arrive with your suitcase !see more
Les Cypres
A lovely peaceful place to stay

We've stayed at les Cypres a number of times, in all seasons, and keep returning. The house is charming - traditional and simple, but with all neccessary amenities. We particularly like sitting and eating on the sunny balcony, overlooking the big, quiet garden. The village of Caunes-Minervois is most attractive and interesting. There are strolls through medieval streets with renaissance houses, the Romanesque abbey, river, little market, a cafe under huge plane trees to relax in,and we enjoyed the one very good restaurant. You can walk nearby through the vineyards or in the Montagne Noire, and further away there is the pretty village of Minerve, and the spectacular Cathar castles.Gill and Cei are very welcoming hosts, both friendly, generous and very helpful, and unobtrusive too. We will definitely be going againsee more
Lovely 3 bedroom village house, Caunes-Minervois
An absolute delght

Five 70+ women had a wonderful time in this quaint, ancient village with its narrow cobblestone streets and beautifully restored houses. La Maison Verte was all that we had hoped it would be from the photos, and more. Ingrid has done a wonderful job of furnishing and decorating so that the house is warm and friendly, full of light, with beautiful views over the garden and all mod cons. This was not just a house but a lovingly restored home with the books, CDs and nick nacks that mnake it so. We really appreciated the delicious meal from a local restaruant that awaited us on our arrival. Boulangeries and restaurants are just a few minutes walk from the house. However, we were often caught out when the shops closed for lunch. We wanted to be off the beaten tourist track but just a short drive brought us to attractions such as the Canal du Midi and Carcassonne. There are lots of gorgeous villages and spectacular scenery in the nearby Black Hills that should not be missed. Ingrid and Christopher could not have been more charming and helpful. If it were possible we would all love to repeat this memorable experience. This was a really unique holiday and one that we would thoroughly recommend to others.see more

Home away from home.

On arrival the house was well set up with made up beds. There were only two of us and we had plenty of space to spread out and relax. The village is very quaint and interesting with narrow winding streets and lanes. There are sufficient shops to get by and a fabulous restaurant called Hotel d'Alibert We enjoyed watching the grapes being taken in to be made into wine at a small local winery opposite the house. There was plenty of opportunity to practice speaking French.see more
