“Perfect!” Visited DR for my daughter's senior Spring Break. While most chose an all-inclusive resort, we wanted the space/freedom of a condo, and Ilia's place did not disappoint... a really special and absolutely perfect vacation! Rental, arrival and check-in were streamlined and simple, and Ilia's driver, manager and maid were all very helpful and welcoming. The condo itself is lovely -- photos are accurate -- and well-located within the complex. The balcony has an unimpeded view of the ocean just a few steps away, and you are also steps from one of the pools. Morning coffee or evening wine with that view + the sound of the ocean = perfection! The complex, including a private stretch of beach, is beautifully maintained, and we never had a problem finding a beach lounger with a direct view of the ocean, whether on the sand or in the shade. Guards on the beach keep away non-residents and the more aggressive vendors (but not the ladies selling massages in the shed next door -- highly recommend!). Activities can be purchased on the beach or from a condo resident. Kids enjoyed ziplining and parasailing. Dining options in the area are fabulous! Within a 1-10 minute walk of the complex are numerous restaurants with great, eager to please service and very affordable prices. Didn't have a bad meal all week, but our favorites were Citrus and Pastrata. Also liked the French bakery across the street, despite the unwelcoming service...Everyone else we encountered, though, was lovely, and we appreciated their help with our dreadful Spanish! For nightlife, there are numerous beach bars, but daughter really enjoyed joining the locals at Danny's across the street from the complex. Sidenote: Friends at the aI resort were told it was dangerous to go off property, but we found this completely untrue...walked everywhere at all hours and never felt unsafe. Our group (both kids and adults!) agreed that a condo -- this condo -- was definitely the way to go. Thanks Ilia and crew!

"A Mid-Winter Night's Dream" Grand Cayman Oceanfront, Quiet, Secluded, Rum Point

“Winter Getaway” This was not our first trip to Grand Cayman and we are very familiar with the island and what is available by way of accommodation. We have always been partial to the North Side. It offers the peace and tranquillity that you cannot find on 7 Mile Beach and “A Mid-Winter Night’s Dream” has definitely offered us the best experience so far. The condo was as described, very clean and so well equipped, we wanted for nothing. Definitely the best unit in the complex. We had a direct unobstructed view of the ocean and although we had planned to eat dinner at nearby restaurants, we spent most evenings dining on the lanai listing to the sounds of the ocean. Great snorkeling, very private beach and surrounding area. My husband and I highly recommend this property. Many thanks to the Lang family for sharing and a special thanks to Dan, it was a pleasure dealing with you.

“Well maintained, quality furnished condo with very helpful owner.” We have stayed in several different condos @ Sapphire Beach in several different price ranges. John's is by far the best maintained despite it not being the highest end priced. It also has a great bar/eating area on the lower deck. Renting from John is like renting from a friend or family member. There were no surprises from John other than I had over paid without realizing & he contacted me to let me know he was sending me a check.

“Loved every second of our vacation!!” The condo was great, lots of room for the four of us. The kids had their own bedroom, with their own beds, and their own bathroom. Bonus. The wrap around balcony was very pretty, loved the view. The beach and ocean out front of the hotel are lovely, although it is the usual hassle trying to get a lounger. Between the people who put their towels down at early hours, and are not even sitting in the chair, and the Mexicans hussling to make a buck off the loungers right in front of the hotel, It was most aggravating! Isla was fun to explore, the people are kind, the island is very safe, and the food was excellent.

“Favorite Condo on Half Moon Bay” We've stayed at 3 other properties on Half Moon Bay and Vista del mar is our new favorite. It's closer to akumal Pueblo and we enjoyed having the services like bike rentals, pool, and La Buena Vida right next door. (It would be really nice if La Buena Vida was open for breakfast, or if there was a coffee shop within walking distance. With a 2 bedroom unit, our teenager got her own room and it was nice to have Internet access. We stayed in unit #3. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. We especially liked the double sliding doors which afforded a beautiful view and a very open feel. The snorkeling in Half Moon Bay was better than expected. We usually go to akumal Playa for beach access, but the reefs in Half Moon Bay are pretty spectacular. The people in the front office were friendly and helpful, although everything went well and we rarely needed them. We learned that it can take up to 5 minutes for the water to heat, but once we knew that, no problemo. We will definitely stay at Vista del Mar again. We might consider a ground floor unit next time.

“Vacation at Montego Bay Studio apt. 35a” We surely did enjoy our stay at No 35a. Initially we had made arrangements for a stay of one week at No 35a in Montego Bay and one week at another Hotel in Kingston. After our first two days at No. 35a we did a reassessment of our stay in Ja taking into consideration the comfort of the apartment, which is ideally situated so that there is a panoramic view of the lovely hotel gardens, pleasure boats, jet ski and cruise ships traversing the sparkling blue waters of Doctor's Cave beach. There is also the view of fascinating architecture nestled in the mountains of Montego Bay. No. 35a is also strategically located in close proximity to several of Montego Bay's premium beaches, restaurants, shopping malls etc., We were on the hip strip, everything was within walking distance. As we are conscious of the environment we were able to turn off the a/C keeping the front and back doors opened inviting what nature offers from the atlantic. We were eager to inform the property manager Doreen of our intention to extend our stay for another week. We must mention our appreciation of Doreen's hospitality. Because of her knowledge on Jamaica she was able to provide tips so that we could have made informed decisions. Having rented a Motor Vehicle we were able to explore most of Jamaica using No. 35a as the base. It was a memorable experience. Cheers

“A perfect place” The Condo was great. Very spacious, well decorated (the bathrooms are beautiful) and very clean (the maid comes every day) The view is breath taking.(We were on the last floor) The beach is very quite. You need some water shoes to enter the water because there is some rocks. The snorkeling is quite good. We saw some turtles, rays, and some school of blue fishes. Enjoy the Sunrises, they are worth waking up early!

“Highly recommended” We recently stayed at Holiday Penthouse condominium and it exceeded all of our expectation. It has modern furniture and tastefully decorated. Not to mentioned the private rooftop with lounge chairs, outdoor shower to cool down and a nice view of the ocean. The condo is centrally located in Playa del Carmen, just two blocks away from Mamitas beach and a block away from 5th Avenue where you will find restaurants, bars, shops and convenient stores. Myrna, the owner, was very helpful assisting us and responded to all our queries promptly. We're looking forward to come back again.

“Excellent property and great destination!” Our stay here was wonderful! We just came back a few weeks ago (Jan 7-14) from our trip and we are ready to book for the next year! We had such a great time: Accommodations - The apartment is very clean and modern. It has nice comfortable beds and lovely décor in every room. The kitchen is stocked with all necessary utensils and appliances. Bathrooms are clean and modern. I loved the cherry wood doors and marble countertops all around. There is a large balcony that you can eat or relax out on. Beach chairs, towels etc. is also provided for you. Beach - you can go downstairs and you are at the Bolongo Bay beach, its lovely, you have all the water sports options that you would find at a typical resort right there. If you walk past the restaurants and the hotel (5 minute walk along the beach), there is a great snorkeling spot past the rocks, very cool! We had a rental car so we also drove (about 15 min) to Smith Bay. This beach is pure heaven! It seems to be mainly visited by locals and is not crowded with perfect white sand and beautiful calm blue waters. Pool - There are a couple of pools that you can use. We used the one by the beach; it had a tap to wash off the sand as well. The pool was nice and clean and the water was pretty warm. Food - Like I mentioned you have everything you need to prepare your food 'at home' if you are on a budget or have specific dietary needs. There are many supermarkets that deliver or you can shop in a warehouse type place (CostUless) or a supermarket (Pueblo) or some local stands that are all around. There are three popular restaurants directly in the Bolongo Bay area so you don't ever have to leave the area if you choose not to: • Iggys - casual burger type place• Mims - fancier place that serves sea food• Lobster Grill - very fancy There is a lot to do on the island and its neighbors, but we have small kids so we took it easy this time and just enjoy the water. Next time we rent this apartment, we will explore the island.

“Great spot” Nice place close to the town clean it was a short trip but I was comfortable. Miss Janet was welcoming and warm , very nice lady . “Wonderful Experience” I have found a home away from home. The hostal is run by a wonderful family whom I left feeling as if they were my family as well. My room was clean and comfortable. I had a small fridge, t.v., wi-fi, and backup electricity even when the power goes out in town. Prices are also extremely reasonable. Whenever I go back to the DR, this is the only place I will stay. I look forward to returning.

“Loveliest, most relaxing holiday we've had.” We arrived to a beautiful building surrounded by flowers, cactus, trees and scrubs. Our condo had a very private terrace just off the pool and we enjoyed our breakfast and coffee there every morning and wine in the evening. The Condo has everything you would have at home, there are even books in the book shelves. The bed was comfy, with a terrace off the bedroom, so air conditioning wasn't even used. The two bathrooms were a treat, and shower was wonderful.Having an ongoing supply of water was really nice so I made fresh lime water daily to have in the fridge. They thought of everything,a list of suggestions for shopping, restaurants, which we tried them all, and were great, and found new ones, but loved the Pirates" fish restaurant" around the corner to the right, and up the block The Generala, is fairly new, just to the left as you leave the gate in the next block., lovely lady Muriel to greet you Best pizza and pasta just a few blocks toward the beach.and don't forget the ice cream shop. Playa is such a fun place. Then to come home to the Arena Blanca after a day out and be greeted by Miguel, the night security was such a good feeling of total trust that everything would be wonderful in the morning., and it always was!! Nadia, the manager was there for all your requests, Louis, is the reason for the beauty and tranquility, Ester and the girls, make it a true vacation of relaxation. Our condo included everything and a roof top terrace which we both loved. A plunge pool to cool off in, have a beer in and enjoy the sun, and a palapa, with table and chairs, for the shade. A quiet place for just the two of us to sleep, read, suntan, and enjoy the surrounding beauty. We cant' wait to go back, as it was so hard to leave.....They made it an inviting home away from home.
