“A Wonderful Holiday” That time of year again to start thinking of holidays. Where to go? And how to better the last one, if you can. But how can we better the warm welcome we got from Sean and Helen on arrival at there beautiful home. What a lovely place, set just outside of the village Xamoudochori. And to wake up every morning to the view of all the Olive groves and at night to look up at the clear sky to see all the stars lit up just like a Christmas tree. What a perfect place to relax and recharge, where all the the local restaurant are excellent and plenty of places to go and see. If you are not sure where to go, then as usual Sean and Helen will be there to help and ensure you have a great time.
We had a great time and always talking about it with our friends and family.
A great place with great hosts. Well can we better it next year? Its going to be very hard to beat.
The largest Greek island in the Mediterranean Sea, Crete is one of Greece's most popular vacation destinations. A fascinating mixture of beautiful beaches, picturesque towns, and ancient historical sites, Crete's diversity surprises many visitors who come here thinking there's little more to see beyond sun, sand, and surf. With a landscape that is among the most beautiful in the country, it's no wonder Crete's people have such a contagious warm and welcoming vitality and love of life.
Consider these activities and attractions for your Cretan vacation itinerary:
Ierapetra: In addition to spectacular beaches that aren't as crowded as those in other parts of the island, Ierapetra also holds the distinction of being Europe's southernmost city.
Samaria National Park: A must for nature lovers, Samaria National Park is centered around a network of interlinking trails that lead to spectacular views of one of Europe's deepest and most picturesque gorges. You'll also marvel at how green Crete is, despite the fact that it only gets about 60 days of rain per year.
Rethymno: If you are vacationing with your family, Rethymno may be the best place in Crete to visit. The attractions and activities cater to couples with children, and the beaches are among the most inviting on the island.
Malia: Younger travelers looking to revel in Crete's legendary nightlife might be best served by heading to Malia, which draws throngs of visitors from nations all over the world.
Knossos: Add some historical culture to your Greek vacation by checking out Knossos, home to the best-preserved ruins of the civilization of the ancient Minoans. Knossos is located near Heraklion, the island's largest city and home to many of the finest spas in Crete.
Because of the island's popularity, its hotels are very crowded all year long, except during the winter when the island empties out. Instead of fighting the crowds, get a vacation rental of your very own instead. From apartments in Crete's towns and cities to quiet rural cabins and beachfront villas, options abound and you'll get to enjoy all the comforts of home during your Greek vacation.
Given its size and popularity, Crete makes an excellent base for further exploration of the Ionian and Aegean Islands. You can also travel to the Greek mainland by sea or air to explore the capital city of Athens.

Maro's Village House. Private & Serene Stone Villa
An amazing villa
My family and I rented this villa for 6 nights and were amazed at how beautiful it was. It had everything we needed ready and even some complementary fruits. The villa is spacious and had a Table Tennis table for us to play with which was lots of fun! There is also a working TV with some great channels on it. The view from the mountain top was jaw dropping and we loved every second of our stay. The only downside was that a car is a must to have while you rent this property.
The hosts' kindness did not end once we left, though. We forgot some items of ours in the villa when we left, and we contacted the hosts a day later about it and he was nice enough to send it to us!
Thank you Nikos for the amazing week! …

Boutique House 66
Excellent location
Located within the Old Town of Chania, it is steps from the harbor promenade and all that is the Old Town. Clean and comfortable with both a patio and balcony overlooking the sea. The only thing thing lacking were cushions for the outdoor patio furniture. Natalie, who met us, was both responsive and provided excellent suggestions of things to do around town and restaurants to visit. …

Julies Studios by the beach in Kokkini Hani
The location, the unit, the 5 minute walk to the beach was perfect.
This was such and incredible place to stay. The apartment was so comfortable and my balcony was the best place for my friend and I to hang out after spending the day at the beach. The grocery store across the street was great and the people were so friendly and helpful. The bus stop to Heraklion was right there as well. 2€ each way and if you need to get back to the airport, that same amount gets you there. When I go back, this is where I am going to stay again. Your host will be first class! Don't miss out on this location or this unit. …

Afroditis'House
Marvellous Margarites
Afroditis House was a fabulous place to relax for 3 weeks. The house was ideal for 2 families to share with all the facilities required for a wonderful holiday.
The highlight though is the amazing hospitality of the host family. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Regular cleaning visits often lead to a small gift being left. The hosts were always happy and cheerful. Like a family away from home.
With a nice pool area, amazing built in bbq and perfect pizza oven this house was a fantastic place with awesome outside spaces.
Would recommend the local village Tavernas and plenty more within a 20 minute drive. 20 mins to the coast also.
Lovely mountain views top off a super place to relax and unwind.
Thank you for letting us stay. xxx …
