“Highly recommended” We spent the week of New Year's 2013/14 enjoying Casa Phil. The house is exactly as described, and the photos accurately reflect Philippe's beautiful home. The home is closely located to the beach, actually a 5 minute walk. We enjoyed running on the beach daily, as the beach extended for many miles. On this beach, there are a lot of restaurants and bars which we enjoyed as well. Philippe is a very gracious host. He was extremely helpful in arranging all of our transportation needs, from taxis to and from the airport, to renting dune buggies (which he builds himself), and a quad. He was always checking in on us as well, making sure that everything was ok, and whether or not we needed anything. We can't thank Philippe enough for making our vacation so memorable. We highly recommend Casa Phil to anyone interested in a vacation in Las Terrenas, DR.

“Amazing vacation-- most fantastic luxury home, topnotch service.” We enjoyed an extraordinary week at this magnificent vacation home: my husband & me, our 2 mid-20s kids & 6 of their friends. The house is wonderfully set up-- open-air living areas & bedrooms overlooking the pool, golf course, & sea. Beyond the pool you watch golfers hit across a cove with crashing waves. Outdoor spaces have canopied sunbathing beds & a dining area. Each bedroom has a seating area, massive shower, 2 sinks & a huge walk-in closet. The furniture is beautiful and comfortable. Theres every possible amenity-fullsize toiletries, irons, blowdryers, robes, closet safes. Service was topnotch. The managers answered every question, helped plan our groceries, made transport arrangements & golf suggestions- making sure all was perfect. They're the most genuine nice warm people. We were overjoyed with the staff -- Ciprian (butler/chef) & Charo (maid). Though their hours were 9-5, they were always there by 6:30 and wouldn't leave before serving dinner personally. Meals were outstanding-fresh lobsters grilled with lime-paradise. Though they stayed up late every night, all 8 kids showed up each day for 9am breakfast, not wanting to miss one of Ciprian's meals. We suggested going out to dinner, but they refused, saying the best food in the world was at the house. Ciprian worked really hard to make sure we had the very best time every single minute. Charo was also incredibly hardworking, washing our clothes and our towels and cleaning up after us all throughout the day. We're an on-the-go type of family and we were wondering whether we would be bored without a lot of tourist attractions. But nobody wanted to leave the house. A few of us golfed the amazing course, went to the spa, Hard Rock casino, ziplining, to the beach club, but mostly we wanted to stay at the house. We have never, ever gone back to vacation at the same place twice, but if we can save up our pennies, next year will be a first, and we'll be back again at the best vacation house ever.

“Lovely stay!” We really enjoyed our stay at Danièle's Flat! Lovely was the "patio" (inner yard) where you can spend some time to relax and eat. The house was really clean and the kitchen was fully equipped. The location is in the middle of the city so it's nice if you want to have contact with local people but it takes 5' to the beach by car. Neighbors like to listen loud music sometimes ;) Nice neighborhood and not too far from the beach and everything we needed to go to. There's a small supermarket right around the corner to buy the daily needed stuff but for food we recommend to go the big supermarket called "Sirena." If you're not able to rent a car you can take one of the many "motoconchistas" which are mototaxi's but for long distances we recommend to rent a taxi. The average price to go to the beach in Puerto Plata is between 25-30 Pesos (ap.1USD p.p.). Taxi is more expensive! Nice to visit: - Pico Isabel de Torres - Old town - Beach (our favorite: "Costambar") - Damajaqua Cascades (27 Waterfalls) - Cabarete (Windsurfing, nice beach, kitesurfing) - Encuentro (Surfing) - We also made some chocolate (ask the owner for further information) Since the owner is also from Switzerland it almost felt like home. Thx for the lovely stay!
