My husband and I travelled with our four children...our two older ones aged 18 and 19 each brought a friend along. Our younger ones are aged 10 and 11 and we took my mother as well. There was a total of 9 of us and each and every one of us has nothing but great things to say; Villas Casa Loma is perfect for any age! Whether you are vacationing at Villas Casa Loma as a young family, through to a senior such as my mother you will be able to experience life, fun, peace and tranquility at its fullest. We met other vacationers who continue to stay at Villas Casa Loma each time they go to Costa Rica, sometimes staying for six months at a time...we can understand why as we will definitely be returning! All the repeat and referral business that Villas Casa Loma receives is a testament to Tom and Igor's commitment to providing you with an amazing Costa Rican experience! “Paradise!” My husband and I stayed in the blue villa for three nights. It was absolutely amazing! It was the most breathtaking place I have ever stayed at and we miss it! The home is flawless. The most amazing feature is the view. You are looking onto a cliff and all around you are amazing birds and we even saw a whale in the ocean in front of us! Amazing!

“What more could you want?” To add our thoughts about Las Palmas. We've stayed here 8 weeks over the last three years and we've already booked for next year! We feel this place is special for a couple reasons. It is unique in that it is all by itself, on the rugged edge of National Park property. It is not in a residential neighborhood, not in a commercial area but it's hardly secluded. We walk to both Santa Cruz (about 2 miles) & La Crucecita (about 2.5 miles). Also, an easy walk down to La Entrega for beach activities like snorkeling, lunch & tropical drinks. Violin beach is right below Las Palmas and usually very quiet and very beautiful. Our son proposed to his girlfriend while snorkeling on there! We love the fact there are only 5 casistas and 3 villas at Las Palmas. It is small enough to get to know other vacationers & share the amenities, but still plenty of privacy to do your own thing. Looking forward to Las Palmas every year makes the daily grind much easier to endure!

“Peace of mind and close to everything...” I am a travel agent here in the country and I like to explore with the family new options so I can recommend places to clients and friends. I have found Villas Casa Loma on the Internet,because I was looking for the right place to acommodate 9 people, 7 teenagers dad and mom... Villas Casa Loma is a great place where you can find a relaxing atmosphere,large Villas with beds for all participants if needed, great pools for the entire family and a full Kitchen so you can do your own meals. I want to recommend this place to any kind of traveller who wants a well preserve, privacy, and clean Villa with all you need for the trip, we recommend to rent a car so you can reach easily, Flamingo, Brasilito, Conchal, Tamarindo and Potrero beach... Igor and Tom are excellent people, very friendly and kind owners and always are a step ahead, we will return for sure and I will recommend your place to my clients and friend for sure. “Well deserved rave reviews !” Everything wonderful you read here is true ! We stayed at Villas Casa Loma for a month of warmth... away from the cold northeast. Our villa #301 was exactly as shown and more spacious than expected. The view of the harbor from our terrace was beautiful at morning coffee time and breath taking at sunset ! We are a couple in our late 60's and were very happy to have a rental car to get down the "mountain" for activities. There are many charming small towns nearby to explore,lots of nice restaurants and convenient shopping for groceries. We also spent many days just enjoying the beautiful pool and the company of the other guests. If we ever return to Costa Rica, I can't imagine staying any place but Villas Casa Loma with Igor and Tom !

“Satisfying,safe and friendly.” My wife and I have stayed here several times. We usually stay for four to six weeks. Affordable, beautiful landscaping and within walking distance of the ocean. Lots of birds on and around the property. Great views of the ocean to the west and mountains to the east. Centrally located to several national parks. Makes a good home base for daily or two to three day trips exploring Costa Rica. The pool is large and well mantianed. The owners are great host and the help is top notch.

“Fantastic!!” Our trip to Villas Casa Loma and Flamingo Beach was wonderful. It was our first time to Costa Rica. We were hesitant to go in the "rainy" season, but after talking with our host Tom, we were optimistic about the weather. Tom was right that Costa Rica is very much like Florida in the summer, where we would have a rain shower in the afternoons, but the rest of the day would be sunny and beautiful. We were very glad that we picked July to come, the country is lush and beautiful, a very tropical setting. We were so glad that we picked Villas Casa Loma, Tom was available to us for everything from perfect driving directions, to excellent recommendations for dining, and activities, such as zip lining, beautiful beaches, etc. He even got us invited to an exclusive dinner at Mar y Sol where we sat with the owner and his wife celebrating the 4th of July!! Our villa was gorgeous, overlooking the Pacific ocean. Spotlessly clean, with every amenity. We really enjoyed our 7 days in Villas Casa Loma, and look forward to visiting again. Highly recommended!!

“Wonderful Piece of Paradise” We stayed here from May 13-20 in villa 204. It was clean, well kept and extremely spacious! Wonderful views of the surrounding hills, Playa Flamingo, bay and ocean. Tom and Igor were very knowledgeable and gracious hosts. The grounds and pools were constantly being manicured and cleaned. We didn't use air conditioning during our stay as the villa had many ceiling fans to keep the air moving and was very comfortable, even with it being 40+C in the sunshine! The kitchen was well stocked with all the required items for cooking. We even used the BBQ which was just a quick walk down some stairs, which would make it very central for all guests to use not matter which villa you stayed in. Lots of thought has gone into the planning of their piece of paradise and would highly recommend staying here. There is a small grocery store on the main road to Playa Flamingo, just a 2 min drive, that had all the basics required for food and drink. Many great restaurants in the area and it was easy to navigate from LIR airport. The city of Liberia is about 1 - 1 hour 15 mins away. Tamarindo was about 20-30 mins away. You've inspired us to start thinking about our piece of paradise!

“Two Family Vacation” Our two families visited Casa Loma this last winter and had a blast!!! The accommodations are great with plenty of room, good supplies in kitchens, clean and wonderful. The view is just incredible as you are up on a hill and can sit in the ocean breeze and watch the boats bobbing in the blue ocean bay. The grounds are kept immaculate and you can enjoy the colorful plants and flowers while luxuriating in the cool, refreshing pool. As hosts Tom and Igor can not be beat. They are there to check you in and from tree on can help you as much or as little as you desire. They gave us great tips on tasty restaurants and fun things to do! They recommended a zip line place that had short runs and newly installed long ones almost a mile long!!! Fun! :) The fish tacos they recommended while drinking a cold Imperial right on the beach was memorable while we watched the sunset. There was also a new coffee shop at the bottom of the hill where we could get a latte and homemade pastry. When it was time to leave the nine of us were tearful as we had so much fun, made friends and really enjoyed the conversation and time spent with our hosts. Plans are already underway to go back later this year and experience Shangri La one more time!!!

“Our second visit, more to come.” This was our Second visit with Tom and Igor at Villas Casa Loma. Enjoyed breathtaking ocean views of Playa Flamingo from our lanai. Great accommodations with kitchen for making breakfast and coffee to watch the sun rise on the boats in the harbor. The sparkling pool was quiet and refreshing. We even watched the breathtaking sunsets while lazing in the pool. We so enjoyed the sounds of the jungle with numerous birds and a few howler monkeys. It is a short drive to several beaches and many excellent restaurants. Can't say enough of how helpful Tom and Igor were with tips of activities, restaurants and hidden beaches in the area. This year we had three in our group and last year we had eight. Great spaces for large and small groups. We just love our time there. You can be busy every day in town or in the jungle or just relax in this little piece of paradise. We will be back!

“Spectacular!” Playa Flamingo is such a great destination and Villas Casa Loma in particular is the Best place to stay in the region. Within minutes you can chose to be on the beach, in a charming beach villiage, zip lining, surfing, hiking, horseback riding, or enjoying an aTV tour. The dining options in this area is incredible and the choices are many and varied and within minutes of VCL. You can reserve an entire villa, or just a suite of rooms, or bring all of your family and friends and take over the whole place like we did for Spring Break last year. I am a frequent visitor to Costa Rica and I highly recommend Villas Casa Loma to anyone planning a trip to the Guanacaste Region. Tom and Igor are incredibly dedicated to each and every guest and the lovely grounds and accomadations are proof of their love of Costa Rica and their "Paradise Retreat". “Great Villa Holiday for Rest and and Relaxation” My wife and I recently spent a few days at Casa Loma in Playa Flamingo. Having never been to Costa Rica we conducted a lot of research trying to find a villa where we would find peace and rest with plenty of sunshine after a month of a nasty Winter. We have rented villas for over twenty five years in several countries and have learned to know what we like. First we want a first rate location close by the main reasons for being in the place to begin with. If we are in the South of France we want to be near the museums and the beach. In Costa Rica we wanted a good beach nearby, we got that. Costa Rica beaches can be wild, brown sand beaches with rip tides not what we were looking for at all so our research put a calm white sand beach near the top of the list. Casa Loma has that just a few minutes away. We wanted a pool so we wouldn't be forced to leave the property every time we wanted to take a dip. Casa Loma has to big beautiful pools from which to choose. We were looking for quiet in the villa where we could be together and sun, read, cook, eat and sleep without road noise and bright lights. We got all of that in Casa Loma. Maybe the most important thing we were looking for was a real villa experience not just some 2 bedroom condo built in the big building boom of the past decade. Our view was if we wanted Florida we would go to Florida we were looking for the kinds of villas we rent on the French Riviera but with a Central american sensibility. We got that at Casa Loma. The view from the acreage looks very similar to many we have seen from places like Nice or Villefranche looking over to Cap Ferat. The owners of Villa Loma live on the property and are very nice people and will help you out with anything you might need to deal with while there. We will very likely revisit in the future which is our best endorsement.
