“Amazing condo with exceptional views, beautiful finish out and convenient location.” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The purpose of our trip was twofold, one was for my husband to fish and the other was for me to relax and read. It could not have been more perfect for both. I enjoyed the view and marveled at the constant activity of the boats and ships coming and going right out our window. The lighted pier provided additional entertainment as we watched the Pelicans enjoying their late night meal. I cannot wait to return.

“Unique and Secluded Tropical Island on the Texas Gulf Coast” We were looking for somewhere new to stay in Texas on the Gulf and were going to try Galveston, but luckily we found the Matagorda Dunes Condos on Matagorda Island before we made our reservations. I inquired about the condo and was pleasantly surprised by a phone call from a very friendly and professional owner who gave me information about Condos 1 and 2. We decided to give it a try because I was really impressed with the owner, Kim, and it was a great decision. The condo was super clean, and everything you could possibly need was supplied. The view from both decks was awesome and included the lagoon and the Gulf Coast. You could hear the sound of the waves day and night. The beach is only a few minutes away and it was clean and beautiful. The birds such as the pink Spoonbills, Seagulls, Egrets, and Pelicans could be seen not only from our deck on the lagoon, but also in many numbers on our drives up and down the beach. My husband and I are hesitant to recommend this place because we want to keep it all to ourselves, but that wouldnt be fair to anyone who has not visited this very unique and wonderful island. We cant say enough about how nice the owner Kim is. She was there from day one to all answer questions, and was basically 'on call' the whole time we were visiting there. A plus also were the three restaurants on the island, gift shops, and a grocery store only minutes away from the condos as well. Do yourself a big favor, contact Kim and stay at either of the condos at Matagorda Dunes. You wont regret it, in fact you will count the days until you can return.

“Enjoyed our stay!” Our family of four stayed here for a little getaway. Conveniently located close to everything and still a pretty good view of the beach. Easy beach access. Condo was clean, no complaints there. Only wish the condo building (villa del sol) took better care of the pool and overall grounds in general.

“#30 is the place!” Stayed in #30 which is upstairs. Loved the Beach view. The big blue house directly in front of the balcony didn't actually detract from the view at all. This unit has an overhang above the roof, so our balcony was shaded. Big plus when it was time to each lunch on the balcony! Master had a queen size bed up with one side up against a wall and double with access on both sides of the bed so my wife and I slept separately, but it definitely worked. Queen mattress was too soft for me anyway. I'm pretty picky, but this made my list as a potential repeat property.

“love love loved!!” This was a beautiful and comfortable stay!! The name suits it very well! Not only do you wake to the waves, but to fall asleep to them is even better!! I loved the simple walk to the beach and the convenience of the pool!! I must admit, being able to watch my husband and kids play on the beach while i watched from the bedroom balcony was by far my favorite!! Love love loved it!! Thanks cheryl!! “Great location” Great location. Condo was a little small and dated but we were not in it except to sleep. The check-in was to strict. I was there at 15 minutes before check-in and they would not check us in. Some rehearsed speech "blah, blah, blah.. When you have small children that is a long time. By the time we were allowed to check in and made it to the room we were 30 minutes past the allowed check in time. :-( Never did get internet. We had an 8 person room but only 2 parking spaces good luck finding a spot for a 3rd vehicle. The lady at the condo was super she was over the top nice and helpful. Condo was clean and well stocked on towels. Again great location. 3rd floor good view but not for anybody not up to stair climbing.

“great stay” We stay with this complex every year and are never disappointed. I love the location, right next to the beautiful beach. The condo is clean and very nice.Comfortable decor and comfy beds. The pool is nice and the grounds are clean. We enjoy the playground and enjoy cooking out on one of the grills on the property. I like the new gazebo that has been installed since we were there last. I would definately recommend this place and I do all the time.

“Great Location and Condo” Great Condo and Location I can't say enough great things about this location and condo, we arrived on Monday and by that afternoon my husband was already wanting to set a date for a return trip. We decided to try to return for the week after Christmas since he's a teacher and the kids will be out of school. This location is wonderful for a family, it has a great pool as well as being really close to the beach. My concern was that I wouldn't be able to get my teenagers out of the Condo since they brought the PS3 and each have cellphones. Once we hit the beach they had a wonderful time and we couldn't get them out of the water. The beach was clean and wasn't crowded at all. Perhaps it was the time of year or that it was during the week but it wasn't crowded until Friday and we had been out almost everyday. We also ate at Doc's Local Restaurant which had a very nice view and the food was good. I haven't had guacamole with crab, pretty tasty. Also we went to Port Aransas and took the Red Pirate Ship tour, it had a cute show for little ones or for the "young at heart". We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and will certainly be returning soon. You will enjoy your stay at this condo even if it is just for a get away. There wasn't a lot of loud music or noise around the complex either, which I really enjoyed while we were sitting out on the patio having coffee in the morning or drinks in the evening. “Pics don't do justice” From the outside, it may not look gorgeous , but the unit was just that. Beds were very comfy, kitchen was very well stocked, spacious living room area. My family was very happy to have found this unit and we plan the make this our regular vacation spot. A few side notes, Parking spaces say two, however there is no additional "separate space" we had to simply park right behind our other vehicle, and the carport we parked under was very low to the vehicle. The large frying pan needs replacing and we could've used more towels, but other than that, we were very happy. Pool is also very nice- great view and location! Can't wait to go back!
