Bob Lake Cottage
Great time had by all!

Lakehouse/cottage met all my criteria; rocky beach, clean water, dock, water toys available, air-conditioned, WiFi, satellite tv, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. Kitchen was large, easily accommodating four cooks at a time. Large island allowed eight people to eat at it while dining table accommodated another eight people. Pool table in walkout basement provided many hours of hilarity, as we are not good players. Kids enjoyed learning game and tournaments that included everyone regardless of age (youngest was 10, oldest a grandpa). We had great weather and spent many hours at water's edge. We brought fishing gear and fished off dock and caught two small small-mouthed bass. Everything on my grandchildren's wish list of Things to Do, we did. They were happy and so were we. My youngest granddaughter told her mom on our last day that she would rather have that cottage than the pool she's been asking for since she was two. One drawback was lack of motor boat. We tried to rent one, but no public launch available currently. Town of Minden and cottage associations from area are working on resolving this issue. Second drawback is drive entrance. It is a very bumpy ride, due to potholes, sandy base and somewhat steep incline. Four wheel drive an asset here.see more
