“homely cottage and warm welcome” The cottage is very cosy, it has been very well thought : everything we could need was there, from washing machine to toaster, from shower towels to city maps. It's very close to the town center of arras but in a quiet street so we enjoyed both the city and our nights.

“Excellent family gite only 1hrs drive from Calais.” This charming detached house is a short walk from the centre of Huby Saint Leu and about a 15 min walk from the pretty historic town of Hesdin. The house has 3 good sized bedrooms all with comfortable beds. The lounge/dining room has plenty of comfortable seating & a large circular table to dine at. There is a TV that receives both French & BBC and other Sky channels which makes it a home from home. The bathroom has the usual toilet and sink, but no bath. However, the shower cabinet is very good. The kitchen, whilst of moderate size, has plenty of storage cupboards, a good cooker with an extractor hood and a fridge. A welcome pack which included milk was in the kitchen on our arrival. There is a verandah which looks out over the large south facing back garden which makes it a wonderful place to eat when the sun shines, with outdoor table & chairs. The garden has plenty of room for children to play games, with a large tree to provide shade at the bottom end of the garden. To the front of the house there is a good sized drive which will accommodate 3 - 4 cars with some grass to the side of it the whole enclosed by a hedge & with a gate that shuts the whole property off, making it safe for children. All in all, this is a really good place to spend a family holiday in northern France, comfortable and well furbished. The coast is an hours drive away, but not so far that a day trip to this is out of the question. Le Touquet is nearest with beautiful sandy beaches. Arras has a great deal of beautiful historic buildings, again about 1 hrs drive away. We have happy memories of staying at Pres de la Foret and hope to return some day.
