“Delightful!” My sister, her two adult daughters and I had a very relaxing getaway in this comfortable, well-appointed home recently. Driving up to the house on the first day was somewhat of a let-down; there is nothing fancy about the outside front of this home and other residences are quite close by. However, once we walked inside our qualms dissolved. The house is small, neat, comfortable and unpretentious. We were delighted to look through the kitchen cupboards to find so many necessities provided (we do a lot of cooking on our getaways) and next time we would be able to leave half our supplies at home. Everything worked-washer and dryer on site was really great; water pressure in the small but powerful shower was terrific; no problems with the baseboard heat or the propane fireplace. We didn't use it, but there is a huge bathtub. Only ran out of hot water once-the last day when my niece took a 20 minute shower! We walked down to the community park area (takes about 2 minutes) a few times and enjoyed the view even though the lake level was very low. Snow on the mountain tops was really pretty. It took us a while to figure out how to hook up to the internet, but once we did, that worked fine-slow...it is a dial-up connection-but reliable. Two downsides for me: the spiral stair case up to the loft is very steep and not for the faint of heart or perhaps the elderly. I'm not either one, but do have bad knees and only climbed the stairs once. Small kids and older folks using the stairs would scare me. The futon in the living room is not for sleeping on. It is so hard I felt bruised when I finally got up the first morning. The couch apparently makes into a bed, but I didn't figure that out until the last day when we were cleaning! Overall, a great experience and a very comfortable stay. Thanks for sharing your home, Peggy!
