“Truly relaxing with a magical view” From booking through Sykes with their helpful, friendly staff to being greeted by the owner of the property it was hassle free. Starboard is well equipped and comfortable and a magical place to stay with the shore on your doorstep. Everything is within easy reach of Yarmouth and you can get the ferry almost to your doorstep. It was our second stay at Starboard and we cant wait to go back. Thanks Sykes and John.

“Far from the madding crowd!” We had a lovely stay here for a week in the summer - not that there was a lot of summer about! We chose this cottage because of its rural location but central(ish) to the island. In fact we thought the location was absolutely perfect. Not especially easy to find, being up a long quiet lane but well worth the effort. The owner's house is next to the cottage and is entirely secluded. We particularly enjoyed the fact that the cottage was visited by red squirrrels every day and in fact we were sometimes woken up by them scampering across the roof to get at the peanut holders that were so thoughtfully provided by the owner. The cottage had everything you could need by way of kitchen equipment and bits and pieces - dishwasher tablets, cleaning materials etc. Should we visit the Isle of Wight again we would try to come here.

Why Isle of Wight?

The Isle of Wight is just off England's south coast and is less than two hours from London via the Isle of Wight Ferry. It's home to picturesque villages, traditional seaside towns and some of the most beautiful beaches in the UK. Its mild climate and family-friendly attractions make it the ideal choice for a UK break near the sea. So, whether you're looking for a romantic cottage in Cowes, a seaside apartment in Sandown or family-sized townhouse in Ryde, the Isle of Wight has some fantastic vacation rentals to choose from.

Fantastic days out

There's so much to see and do in the Isle of Wight, you'll want to come back year after year. For a fun-filled family day out, head to Blackgang Chine. This enchanting theme park overlooking the south coast is set in beautiful gardens. From fairytale castles to life-sized dinosaurs, a day out here is like something straight from a storybook and will inspire imaginations.

Take your little monkeys to Monkey Haven, an award-winning sanctuary for birds, reptiles and, of course, monkeys, in Newport. To see Shanklin in miniature, visit the charming Model Village in Godshill; the attention to detail is simply incredible. And if you fancy a bit (well, a lot) of stately grandeur, then how about a day out at Queen Victoria's vacation home, Osborne House?

Beside the seaside

There are some beautiful beaches on the Isle of Wight. Some highlights include the peaceful beach at St Helens, the family-friendly beach at Sandown with its pier and amusement arcades, and the unspoiled Brighstone Bay. If watersports are your thing, Ryde beach is great for swimming, sailing and windsurfing, so you can easily spend the whole day out in the waves. And if you're looking for a romantic place to take your significant other, Steephill Cove is a peaceful idyll with a fantastic seafood restaurant nearby.

THE SPRINGS, romantic, luxury holiday cottage, with pool in Ryde, Isle Of
The Springs

this lovely Scandinavian style pine cabin was very comfortable and situated in peaceful surroundings. It is situated in the garden of a country house which was visited by very interesting wild life eg red squirrels and rabbits. It is the only cabin in the garden therefore it is ideal if you want a quiet romantic holiday with privacy. It is situated near Ryde on the Isle of Wight and is ideal for exploring the island. You will need a car to enjoy this property.see more

Perfect holiday cottage

We had a really lovely holiday on the Isle of Wight ,the holiday cottage was perfect - spotlessly clean and really nicely furnished and well equipped .There were thoughtful little touches such as a welcoming bottle of wine and fruit in the fruit bowl. The bus stop was 2 minutes away and we could take the bus to any town in the island if we didn't want to take the car. We certainly intend to return! Maggie Powleysee more
THE COACH HOUSE, coastal cottage with stunning sea views, luxury accommodation
The perfect cottage in the perfect place

Chale House is a perfect cottage in a perfect location. On the main road from Ventnor to The Needles, and a one minute walk to the fascinating Black Gang Chine (the chine is fascinating, we didn't visit the theme park) and the cottage is on gated private land which feels very safe. The owners were so friendly and the caretaker so willing to chat and full of local info. The cottage had everything, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with all you need and the sunsets over the sea from the living room window each night were magical and when it's clear you can just see The Needles in the distance. We loved the Isle of Wight and can't wait to return, it's so beautiful and the natural formations just take your breath away (eg Alum Bay, the Chines etc). Chale House was the most we'd paid so far for a cottage holiday (we've been on 12), but we agree it was definatley worth every penny!see more
Sunny and spacious Victorian Villa, central and quiet location.
Great comfy house in a good location

Myself and friends have stayed here for a week during the last two years and found the house very comfortable and in a great location. Would have liked to book again for next year but price has sky rocketed in 2018 we paid £900 for a week and this year was £1200 but it is now £1600 for the week we wanted next year so sorry we will no be returning. A couple of minor point the central heating boiler is in one of the bedrooms and is likely to disturb your sleep, so it may be worth switching it off over night. The Grill on the cooker was not working while we were there, the owner however did apologise for this. The garden is great for alfresco breakfast. Cowes has lots of great bars and restaurants to try. House is 5 min walk from the Red Jet terminal so very handy. Would definitely return if prices had not increased by such a huge amount in 3 years.see more
