“Great condo, Great Location!” Great condo, great location! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We recently returned home from a 10 day stay at Papakea G-407! I wish I could have stayed forever! The condo is in a great location convenient to several gorgeous beaches and a short drive to Lahaina town. We had all the conveniences needed to prepare meals in and enjoyed dinner on the lanai several evenings with a beautiful sunset! Anne provided a great deal of information on the area as well as helpful hints for shopping, sightseeing, etc. The grounds at Papakea are absolutely beautiful! There are two great pools as well as two large jacuzzis. We will definitely return to this condo on our next visit to beautiful Maui! Thank you, Anne and Wes for sharing your home with us! They all have their own special characteristics and charm. The Whaler Condo 802 has the best location, comfort, and luxurious amenities. Most of the resorts are all set back from the ocean, and you do not have that feeling of being right on the ocean. Condo 802 is directly in front of the ocean. The soothing ocean sounds truly enhances the level of relaxation during both awake and sleeping hours. The beach in front of The Whaler is one of the best beach sites on Kaanapali Beach for relaxing and swimming. There is a reef directly in front of The Whaler that is good for snorkeling. Black Rock is a short walk from The Whaler that has OUTSTANDING snorkeling and turtle siting opportunities. 2 – The Condo is breathtakingly beautiful and immaculate. The owners, Simon and JaNell, are committed to comfort and luxury. The beds are extremely comfortable. I have sleep challenges “on the mainland” but not in Condo 802. I could not believe how well I slept. This is our 2nd time staying in Condo 802, and I have now stayed in both the guest and master rooms. The sleep situation was outstanding in both rooms. The Master Suite is spectacular. Both rooms are wonderful. However, the Master Suite is incredible! Also, the Lanai is so wonderful. As stated previously, you cannot get any closer to the ocean. We were able to directly watch the whales and site turtles as they swim along the beach line. We even saw a small pod of dolphins swimming close by, as well!! 3 – The kitchen is fantastic! We stayed for 12 nights in Condo 802. (For this trip, we decided to stay more days and dine out less.) We prepared the majority of our meals in the condo. (Martha Stewart would not be disappointed.) Every kitchen utensil and appliance is available. Spices and staples are on hand. We had many gourmet dinners, and we were never deficit for the proper accoutrements. 4 – Simon and JaNell Zemel are outstanding owners. We have stayed in many other Whaler condos. All of The Whaler owners have been wonderful. However, Simon and JaNell set a very high bar for customer service. Shortly after our arrival we received a welcome call from JaNell. She called to ensure that everything in the Condo was accommodating our needs, and she wanted to make certain that we were enjoying our stay in their home. The owners are immediately responsive to any request or issue. We had a minor garbage disposal malfunction. It was immediately addressed and resolved. Simon and JaNell are committed to making your experience in Condo 802 to be relaxing and luxurious. I believe the difference in staying at a 5 Star Resort, and The Whaler Condo 802, is that Condo 802 feels like home. There are wonderful kitchen supplies, toiletries, and laundry supplies. Condo 802 is also stocked with beach gear, which eliminates the need to rent beach gear that you may need during your vacation. Again, the owners are outstanding. They make you feel like you are close friends staying in their home. The only negative issue is leaving. The reentry into reality is very tough after staying at The Whaler Condo 802.

“Home away from home.” My third time staying at the condo. Love the location right next to the Whaler's Shops, great value and the beautiful beach just a few steps away from your balcony. Every time I call Larry to make my reservations he is very courteous and helpful. Always a great vacation!!!

“Great accomodations for Maui vacation” This condo was perfect for our recent Maui vacation. The unit was very clean and well equipped and the team from Maui Westside Properties were great to deal with. No issues at all with booking or the check in/out process. Honua Kai is a great complex - well maintained, lots of amenities, several pools, easy beach/ocean access, lots of parking, close to Lahaina and it's restaurants, shopping, etc. We would definitely stay here again.

“Excellent Condo for the Money” When we reserved the condo we got three very informative emails in reply letting us know about check in-check out procedures, nearby restaurants, car rentals, activities in Maui, etc., so that was very helpful. When we got there we found the condo very clean with plenty of comfortable furnishings. There is no A/C but we found that if we opened the windows and turned on the fans in the evenings, the condo stayed very comfortable. It did not get too hot in the middle of the day. Kevin's policy of marking refrigerator items with the date of purchase is brilliant and renters to save on the cost of condiments and other little items. The pantry was full of staples too, so if you forgot to get something at the store, you will likely find it in the cupboard! Kevin keeps the bathroom medicine cabinet, linen closet and bedroom closets stocked with everything else you may need - boogie boards, sand toys, snorkel equipment, pool noodles, laundry detergent, bleach, bandages, antibacterial ointment, sunscreen, linens, beach towels, duct tape, you name it! The only thing we needed but couldn't find was a pair of scissors, but we got by! FYI, there is no dishwasher, so you will have to wash the dishes by hand. The location is very nice. It is in a part of town where you can walk to restaurants, a natural (but vegetarian) market, coffee shop, shave ice store, surf shop, etc. Plus it is a bout a 5-10 minute drive north of Lahaina if you need more in terms of shops and restaurants. Lahaina is also a prime spot for surf and paddleboard lessons and for hiring a boat for deep sea fishing, among other activities. The condo is also right across the street from a nice, well-used (by locals and tourists alike) park and beach. The surf doesn't get real big here, so it was a perfect boogie boarding location for our 10 year old, and a nice fishing location for our 14 year old. Plus, BONUS PART, a sea turtle hung out with us one afternoon, eating whatever grows on the rocks just off shore and swimming around our ankles.

“Our First Maui Vacation” My girlfriend and I have used Vrbo before, for properties in Europe and have never had an issue. Jill and Terry did not disappoint! The Honua Kai property and more specifically the unit we stayed in owned by Jill and Terry was absolutely incredible! I think it's rated as 4 stars, but clearly it was closer to 5 stars in our opinion. The description and photos on the unit were quite accurate. Jill was amazing with customer service and always helped us when needed. The amount of local information made available to us in the form of a very big binder or two in their condo was awesome. The condo unit was very clean and tidy when we arrived. We highly recommend a visit to Honolua Bay to go snorkling. It's only about a 15 minutes drive from the property, and worth the visit! It's a rocky beach, so leave the beach chairs at home and just take towels and snorkel equipment with you. Also, if you're a foodie, check out Roy's, about 5 miles south of Honua Kai. As well, Duke's is on the Honua Kai resort property and it's an awesome restaurant for drinks, lunch and dinner-highly recommend both Dukes and Roy's. We also went to the Old Lahaina Luau one night, and boy it was just amazing! Great entertainment and food. We would recommend this property to anyone, and have already done so with our friends.

“This condo is a wonderful place to enjoy Maui.” We had a wonderful visit to Maui here in this condo Hokulani 509. The views from the condo are breath taking. Before we arrived, I hoped that the pictures on the web site would be accurate. I was not disappointed. The condo is well stocked with what you need to make your stay pleasant. We were there for two weeks and did not feel that we were in need for anything. The grounds are beautiful with three pools and hot tubs. There is a restaurant on the grounds that is very convenient. We cooked in and ate out over the two weeks. Nice grills are available for guests use. There is a grocery store close by. There is so much to do between Lahaina and Kapalua. We would rent again.

“Paradise - very luxurious” This is a very luxurious condo. It is brand new, on a nice beach. We felt like we were at home. It was beter than we expected. The location is perfect, lots of restaurants and stores nearby. We will certainly go back soon. We will recommand it to our friends.

“Best trip to Maui ever!” We spent 2 weeks in Terry and Jill's fabulous condo. It had everything we needed and more! Laundry soap, spices, hand soap, boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach chairs and umbrella plus lots more. Terry or Jill were always reachable before or during our trip to answer any questions. We will for sure be back to this resort and book with them again!

“Paradise on the Beach” We have enjoyed our stays in Maui for 12 years and found this condo to be a perfect fit for our family of four. We have just renewed our reservation with the owners for our fourth consecutive year. We love all the extra space and that it's a corner unit with lots of windows to view all the beautiful surroundings. Having the large heated pool beside the apartment is very convenient. It is located just a 5 minute walk through the garden to the beach cabana. The condo is stocked with all the amenities of a home. We love the convenience of having a shuttle to take us to and from the private beach cabana when the kids are tired from all the play on the beach. The restaurants and shopping at Whaler's Village are within short walking distance. Kaanapali has a shuttle service which provides transportation throughout the village. Grocery shopping and Golf courses are within a very short drive from the resort. we will continue to return to this comfortable resort - and apartment! Doris

“Wonderful large modern view condo in Kaanapali” Great service, document outlining condo, restaurants, activities, etc. Very large condo for Kaanapali, fantastic views, very well appointed kitchen, boogie boards, fins, snorkels, very nice bathrooms with large showers, lots of towels, etc. Kaanapali is great location, walking distance to restaurants and shops, near Lahaina which has many restaurants, stores, etc. We liked the great views, spaciousness of condo, location in Kaanapali

“perfect!” Have rented multiple times at this resort and with Maui Westside Properties. Always flawless, easy checkin. Absolutely perfect unit, stocked with amenities. Pools, beach, Dukes. What more to you need.

“Family Vacation” Fantastic! Wow! Super! Our family of 19 used this condo as our gathering place for meals, games, conversation and relaxing. The 6 of us who actually stayed there felt like we were in the "lap of luxury" - every detail was carefully planned in the condo right down to beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, etc. The kitchen area an was a superb place to prepare meals with assistance from the Viking grill on the lanai. The lanai provided breathtaking views of the ever-changing ocean and rainbows. The matriarch of our family had no trouble navigating the condo in her walker and wheelchair.

“Room was great!” This room and condo development is great. The construction next door was not overly intrusive with the windows closed - they always closed down for the day before dinner so we can enjoy the balcony. My only negative is that they should have a few more blankets in the room available to the guests.

“This Place Has Everything You're Looking for on Maui” We really enjoyed staying at Maui Kai 806. The setting suns and moons as well as the layout of the unit, and the extremely helpful staff (especially Rowena) made our stay wonderful. We would recommend this place to our closest friends and relatives. It is ideally situated with access to all that Maui has to offer. Close to terrific beaches (snorkeling, sunning, etc.), close enough to beautiful sightseeing around Maui, and access to wonderful Lahaina, this place is simply amazing. It was my first trip to Hawaii and definitely a 5 star stay. This place rocks!

“Comfortable apartment, beautiful view!” We stayed in the 2 bedroom Konea 705 unit at the Honua Kai complex in Kaanapali in November 2016. Setting up our reservation through Maui Westside Properties was a simple and efficient process. For some reason, my phone wouldn't allow me to use the number pad when we arrived on the island, so contacting the reservation agent via phone wasn't possible. I sent an email instead, and received a return phone call almost immediately. We were assisted by Kristin upon arrival, and she was wonderful! Konea 705 was perfectly spacious for us, and the couple that we were traveling with. We had a couple of issues with basic housekeeping supplies (no additional trashbags for the kitchen area, and all of the extra toilet paper and kleenex was in one bathroom, instead of distributed equally, which we didn't know about until we asked our friends if they had any extra TP in their bathroom, since we didn't enter each other's spaces), but Kristin came to the rescue again on the trashbag issue, and brought us more very quickly. The beds were very comfortable, everything worked well during our visit - plumbing, TV, laundry - which was great, and we LOVED the types of keys they use for the condos at Honua Kai! (They're a rubber bracelet type of thing. Awesome!) Wifi didn't work at all when we were out on the terrace, but worked fine once inside. The property is pretty awesome. We were there without kids, but it seemed like the families that were all there were enjoying all the amenities as much as we were. Free valet parking was great! The beach wasn't too crowded on any given day that we were out there. We used the pools, and really liked the environment around the "quiet pool", of course. There is only one full-service restaurant on site, called "Duke's". We didn't have a single bad meal there. From the happy hour menu, to breakfast, to lunch and dinner on various days, we ALL enjoyed everything we ordered. The service was awesome, too. Servers and bartenders were all very friendly and accommodating. The gym in our building was well-appointed. But we also got a lot of exercise walking the beach path to Whaler's Village, and around to various dinner spots around Kaanapali. When we didn't walk, we were able to catch a cab. And my friend and I tried to take the bus one day (returning from Whalers), but wound up getting on one heading the opposite direction than we needed to go! We should have asked the bus driver, but we didn't. Had we asked, we would have gotten on the right one, and been back at the property in about 20 mins, it seemed. Anyway, point being, there are loads of ways to get around town, if you haven't rented a car. I would definitely recommend Honua Kai as a property, and Konea 705 as a rental unit.

“Beautiful Maui Stay” Everything about this stay was fantastic. The people at Maui Westside Properties were fantastic to work with. Having never booked through them, you are always a little nervous, but e-mails and phone calls were always handled great. The unit itself, 501 Konea is beautiful. Don't think you can beat the view! The unit is very spacious with plenty of room to spread out and put your personal belongings away. The resort pools were great for the kids, and despite being there for Easter week, there were plenty of chairs around the pool to lounge around on. Dukes is a very nice restaurant that we visited pretty much every day, either for breakfast, Lunch or dinner. Loved the steak tacos! We didn't do much cooking this trip, but the Lanai had beautiful Viking appliances for grilling. Even had an outdoor refrigerator to store your food. We also liked the convenient access to both Lahaina and Kapalua. They were both just a short drive away. All in All, we hope to be back to Maui in the next several years, and hope this unit is available when we do.

“MAUI TRIP” The condo was as great as expected. Views were exceptional. Rainbows appeared on three different days on the mountain side. Te facility had every amenity that anyone can ask for. Our hosts were wonderful and were there to greet us at 12 midnight. What more can a person say.

“A Fantastic Home Right on the Beach Where You Wouldn't Expect it” We were looking for a beachfront house on Maui for a family of 7 (one an infant). In the end, we liked the options in Kihei but most were in an area where the beach wasn't great, so we looked at West Maui. This house caught our eye. The house is located on the property where the old Ka'anapali airport used to be until the mid-1980s. While this area is mostly full of resorts, this house is wedged in with a few other properties between the big hotels. The house itself is all about the big family room/sitting area/kitchen which is huge and great. There is a big master bedroom and two other standard bedrooms with one open office corner. The layout of the house is a bit strange - it's not how I would allocate space in my own place, but it was great for a rental. There is a ton of natural light and a great view straight out to the water. The yard area is great with a hammock between two palm trees, a full bbq area, an above ground spa, and a shallow pool. Even though the walkway along the beach is nearby, the landscaping is done so well that you rarely see it. You feel isolated. It's a short walk through that landscaping and you're on a great beach. It's a bit narrower than some other parts of Ka'anapali but it's also much less crowded since it's not in front of a resort. The sand is great, and a reef begins in the ocean just to the north of the property for snorkeling. (We had a nice swim with a turtle.) Our concierge that met us there was very helpful and stayed with us initially to get us oriented, as did the property manager.
