ARCHERS, ground floor apartment, 2 bedroom sleeping 4, WiFI, Ref 972342

Keswick house

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 4

“No hesitations about recommending archers..” ... except it might get too busy to re-book it again! Having stayed in a different cottage for a number of happy visits to Keswick, my first stay in archers was a reluctant change - but i was more than satisfied, and look forward to returning if i ever have the opportunity to work in the Lakes again. Comfortable, cosy, well-equipped. Great location for being central to shops, but easy access for walks, cycling etc...

ELM COURT, second floor apartment, views of river, in Keswick, ref:972290

Keswick house

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Lovely apartment” We had a lovely stay at Elm Court. Great location near Keswick centre but nice quiet and private. Only one gripe, the painter that was there to paint the exterior windows entered our apartment when we were not there and without our permission. When I reported this to the local office I was told they didn't know anything about it and that no-one had a key to enter it anyway. My husband spoke to the painter and he confirmed that the work was agreed with the local office and that he had a key to every apartment!! Better communication to your visitors would be my recommendation.

THE HAYLOFT, characterful, romantic, lake views, Near Keswick Ref 972331

Thirlmere house

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

“Quiet retreat near Keswick” The property was exactly as described...the central heating was needed the weekend we were there and made the Hayloft very snug. Owners very helpful with getting wi-fi to work on our laptop...(don't expect 20mbs but fine for light surfing). Only concern was slight lack of cooking bits & pieces and cutlery could do with a really good clean. Idylic setting and good location. Would

INGLEWOOD, nearby fells, keswick cottage, family friendly, WiFi. Ref: 972420

Keswick house

3 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 5

“Cosy & comfortable” This cottage is located on a quiet street within a 10 minute level, easy stroll from the centre of Keswick. Our party consisted of 2 couples, so the 3rd (single) bedroom wasn't used. On first entering the cottage, we were all surprised at how roomy it is, especially the kitchen. The patio outside the back door is very small (only a tiny table and 2 chairs) but as we stayed in chilly March, this wasn't a problem. There is a large bathroom, with a bath, separate shower enclosure, wc, bidet & basin. The double bedrooms are bright, with plenty of drawers and hanging space. The largest bed has a firm mattress, which I found very comfortable, but my daughter thought the other double was a bit on the soft side. The large cupboards on the landing were great for storing our suitcases. Parking is on the street, but we always managed to get parked within a few feet of the door. Our only gripe was the lack of instructions for the cooker, but we managed to figure it out. We had a very enjoyable week in the cottage, and would certainly consider it again for a winter break.

THE OLD MILL, first floor apartment, WiFi, in the heart of Keswick town

Keswick house

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

“Home from home” Second time we have visited The Old Mill. Lovely flat, very clean and well furnished, quiet road with all amenities round the corner. Never heard any neighbours, just down the road from the cinema and local small supermarket. Highly recommended, but the access stairs (18 I think) might put some people off (not us though). I would not recommend for young families for this reason. So sorry it is already booked for the week we need next year, hopefully the following year we will be back.

“Great week's stay” Very spacious, comfy, well equipped accommodation, situated in a quiet area of Keswick with easy access to the centre, either in about 15 mins walking or 5 mins in the car. Whilst instructions manuals for appliances were available the only thing we would have expected, but was not provided was a short information sheet with information such as where the bins are and what day they're collected, what time the heating is set to come on and off, etc. We worked it out pretty quickly so it wasn't a major issue , but we're used to having one provided. An excellent , relaxing week's accommodation and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

“Prefect location” Prefect location . Just on the high street. However was surprisingly quite and peaceful . Parking was fantastic . The apartment was very clean and well stocked with lots of lovely little touches . Only down side was the noisy pipe work in the bathroom when using the bath or shower. There were instructions on how to turn the taps on slowly . There was clearly a knack to doing it but unfortunately we didn't master it during our stay . I would definitely stay again

“Ideal location for Keswick town centre with dedicated off road p” Large enough for two people, ample heating & hot water. On the down side only 2 pans for cooking both of which were left dirty by the previous occupiers. The non stick frying pan was unusable due to the non stick coating flaking off. However there is plenty of crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils etc for normal day to day use. Did not like the fact that the fitted fire detectors were covered in plastic bags. A notice said they could be activated by steam from the shower or if the rooms were too hot. This could pose a safety issue which I believe requires solving. Additional smoke alarms have been fitted. Would consider using again if the above were rectified.

“Great expectations” Booking was straight forward, friendly professional staff to hand to help and advise. Accomodation exceeded our expectaions on all fronts. Clean, spacoius, excellent views from the sun balcony. Private location but within walking distance of Keswick. Car parking was off road but I think you would struggle to with more than 2 reasonably sized cars. Slope down to garage is to avoided at all costs. Gardens were a delight. Tvs in Bedrooms would be welcomed. Would book again and recommend to friends.

“Tranquillity in wonderful surroundings.” Well appointed and gloriously located cottage. Mountains on 3 sides, and sits in Newlands Valley. Lovely walks available from straight from the door, including the ascent of Catbells for wonderful views of Skiddaw and over Derwentwater. The charming market town of Keswick is just 4 miles away. Many birds frequent the garden, and there is a good chance of seeing at least one of the pair of red squirrels that reside in the garden - throwing some hazelnuts outon the lawn in front of the big fir tree certainly rewarded us with great close views of a red squirrel eating a few hazelnuts, and then burying well over a dozen. he bed, bath and shower were all faultless, and cleanliness was fine. It is a delight, even on a wet day, sitting in the bay window looking out over the garden, river and towards the hills. T

Why Keswick?

Keswick is an English market town located in Cumbria and has become a popular tourist destination for those visiting the North Lakes. It's nestled between the Skiddaw Mountains and Derwentwater Lake, therefore you'll be surrounded by nature and beautiful landscapes. Book your vacation rental in Keswick today.

About Keswick

This pretty little market town offers a wide range of attractions for all interests including shops, museums and plenty of historical and cultural artifacts.

It's also become one of the main destinations for outdoors activities in the UK, so if you like vacations with a side of adventure, you'll be at the heart of the action.

What to do

Cycling is also another great activity, with plenty of routes for both beginners and the more experienced, in terms of on and off-roading.

While there are plenty of outdoors activities on offer, there's also lots for those who enjoy a spot of culture. The Keswick Museum and Art Gallery is ideal to discover some history and see works of locals artists. Another popular attraction is the Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum, housed in an old quarry where you can discover machinery and tools from past times.

Top Keswick travel tips

The town has a variety of bus links which provide tourists with local routes as well as ones more farther afield such as Cockermouth, Lancaster and Carlisle to name a few. However, most visitors and tourists choose to travel around by car out of ease, due to the town having three main car parks.

If you're looking to visit the Lake District this year, Keswick is a must-visit for its ease of access to other key destinations in the area. Book your vacation rental in Keswick with us today.

excellent

Superb apartment very spacious and very well equipped with excellent quality fixtures and fittings. Great location just off the main square close to all amenities, although close to pubs it was very quiet even with the windows open at night. Master bedroom is huge with plenty of storage space. Great place and I would highly recommended this great place and look forward to coming back.see more

Relaxing and enjoyable.

The service was very good I was given the keys to the house when I arrived without having to wait for to long. the home is very homely cosy feel to the place. Royal Oak House is in an ideal location for the shops and the nearby hills. the shops on on our doorstep so we do not have to use the car if i need to do a bit of shopping. I enjoy walking on the hills nearby Keswick with wonderful views on the summits. I had a problem with the lift at the Royal Oak House Hotel sometimes it works on other occasions it wont. example your on ground floor you press one[first floor]nothing happens the doors kept opening and shutting and its a problem when you are caring luggage and shopping etc.Apart from that brilliant holiday.see more
