ARCHERS, ground floor apartment, 2 bedroom sleeping 4, WiFI, Ref 972342

Keswick house

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 4

“No hesitations about recommending archers..” ... except it might get too busy to re-book it again! Having stayed in a different cottage for a number of happy visits to Keswick, my first stay in archers was a reluctant change - but i was more than satisfied, and look forward to returning if i ever have the opportunity to work in the Lakes again. Comfortable, cosy, well-equipped. Great location for being central to shops, but easy access for walks, cycling etc...

ELM COURT, second floor apartment, views of river, in Keswick, ref:972290

Keswick house

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Lovely apartment” We had a lovely stay at Elm Court. Great location near Keswick centre but nice quiet and private. Only one gripe, the painter that was there to paint the exterior windows entered our apartment when we were not there and without our permission. When I reported this to the local office I was told they didn't know anything about it and that no-one had a key to enter it anyway. My husband spoke to the painter and he confirmed that the work was agreed with the local office and that he had a key to every apartment!! Better communication to your visitors would be my recommendation.

THE HAYLOFT, characterful, romantic, lake views, Near Keswick Ref 972331

Thirlmere house

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

“Quiet retreat near Keswick” The property was exactly as described...the central heating was needed the weekend we were there and made the Hayloft very snug. Owners very helpful with getting wi-fi to work on our laptop...(don't expect 20mbs but fine for light surfing). Only concern was slight lack of cooking bits & pieces and cutlery could do with a really good clean. Idylic setting and good location. Would

“Excellent building, appartment and grounds, unsure about the loc” The building and the grounds are excellently maintained, clean and well presented; the room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped with washing machine and tumble dryer, dishwasher, cooking facilities and excellent shower and bathrooms. Although the building is divided into a number of appartments we still had a great level of privacy and our stay was not affected by any other residents. The only negative for our party was the location. It was not as close the the town centre of Keswick as we thought. It is around a 25 minute walk to the main shops and pubs and we were making this trip (there and back twise per day), driving was out of the question as we were spening our nights in the pubs. In addition to this the long, secluded drive approach to the accomodation is badly lit (i.e. no street lighting at all) which meant without a torch it was pitch black. This coupled with the rough, non existent tarmac / paving on the drive could become hazzardous, especially in icy weather as it was at the time. The only other suggestion I would make would be to improve the directions provided when booking, it took us at least half an hour driving around the area, with which we are all unfamiliar, until we found our way. Overall though I would recommend the cottage to friends and family, depending on their intentions whilst in the area. If this was to spend the day out, but the evenings and nights in the cottage relaxing I would strongly advise this location.

Why Keswick?

Keswick is an English market town located in Cumbria and has become a popular tourist destination for those visiting the North Lakes. It's nestled between the Skiddaw Mountains and Derwentwater Lake, therefore you'll be surrounded by nature and beautiful landscapes. Book your vacation rental in Keswick today.

About Keswick

This pretty little market town offers a wide range of attractions for all interests including shops, museums and plenty of historical and cultural artifacts.

It's also become one of the main destinations for outdoors activities in the UK, so if you like vacations with a side of adventure, you'll be at the heart of the action.

What to do

Cycling is also another great activity, with plenty of routes for both beginners and the more experienced, in terms of on and off-roading.

While there are plenty of outdoors activities on offer, there's also lots for those who enjoy a spot of culture. The Keswick Museum and Art Gallery is ideal to discover some history and see works of locals artists. Another popular attraction is the Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum, housed in an old quarry where you can discover machinery and tools from past times.

Top Keswick travel tips

The town has a variety of bus links which provide tourists with local routes as well as ones more farther afield such as Cockermouth, Lancaster and Carlisle to name a few. However, most visitors and tourists choose to travel around by car out of ease, due to the town having three main car parks.

If you're looking to visit the Lake District this year, Keswick is a must-visit for its ease of access to other key destinations in the area. Book your vacation rental in Keswick with us today.

excellent

Superb apartment very spacious and very well equipped with excellent quality fixtures and fittings. Great location just off the main square close to all amenities, although close to pubs it was very quiet even with the windows open at night. Master bedroom is huge with plenty of storage space. Great place and I would highly recommended this great place and look forward to coming back.see more

Relaxing and enjoyable.

The service was very good I was given the keys to the house when I arrived without having to wait for to long. the home is very homely cosy feel to the place. Royal Oak House is in an ideal location for the shops and the nearby hills. the shops on on our doorstep so we do not have to use the car if i need to do a bit of shopping. I enjoy walking on the hills nearby Keswick with wonderful views on the summits. I had a problem with the lift at the Royal Oak House Hotel sometimes it works on other occasions it wont. example your on ground floor you press one[first floor]nothing happens the doors kept opening and shutting and its a problem when you are caring luggage and shopping etc.Apart from that brilliant holiday.see more
