“Best experience ever!!” Best experience by a mile! Villa Sunset Beach on Gili Trawangan definitely had the wow Factor for us. We could not believe our luck when we arrived at the villa (by horse cart "another talking point of our holiday") and found it to be, not only as described but better! We were so happy that we had accidently booked this at the end to our holiday. What a nice way to finish off! The Villa has amazing views and lives up to the name of Villa Sunset Beach with the extremely spacious reception being triple aspect and having an open plan kitchen. The large sliding doors allow the breeze to flow through during the day and the air-conditioned bedrooms make for pleasant evenings. Breakfast with a view or dinner under the stars, we had it all. We had been to Gili before but this is the first time that we had stayed on the North side of the island, so tranquil with turtles on your doorstep. You should try snorkel or dive, it's amazing! The owner was always contactable if we needed anything and also very accommodating and pleasant. She is an experienced diver and can help you arrange dive lessons. Thanks again and we will be back!

About Lombok
The island of Lombok is fairly reserved in comparison to the other nearby islands, which may be the reason behind its small-scale tourist industry.
Very little was known about the island of Lombok before the 17th century, however it was once made up of a variety of states which were controlled by a Sasak prince. The most popular beaches on the island include Kuta and Banko Banko. There are also many beaches on the nearby Gili Islands, which offer a range of activities including snorkeling and diving. Many of the beaches are extremely picturesque, featuring mountain backdrops, soft sands and glowing sunsets in the early evenings.
Mount Rinjani is an active volcano and can be visited by tourists. Keen geographers will delight at the hot springs and crater lake.
For keen walkers, there are also number of hiking trails around the island; with many walks following through green forests and rice fields. This destination is certainly ideal for travelers on a mission to explore.
