“Brilliant for a family stay” The cottage had a very well equipped kitchen. All bedrooms were comfortable, excellent ground floor shower room and large first floor bathroom. The sofas and rug in the lounge are getting near there 'sell by date'. The cottage is an ideal location for exploring everything the Lake District has to offer, would recommend visiting the grizedale forest. The farmers arms inn, which is directly facing the cottage, provides welcoming staff and good food. We had a slight problem with the key box, and could not retrieve the keys and were unable to phone the rental agency as there was no mobile phone connection. Fortunately the farmers arms let us use their phone and the problem was sorted by the letting agents very quickly.

“Great Base For The Lakes” The property is only small,but was a great base camp for a week away with only a short walk or drive to most places.It has all modern ammenities but does not have an open fire. Very clean and very well presented would definately return for a future visit.

“Tranquil haven” A friendly, welcoming, but inobtrusive couple. The cottage is very well supplied with good quality furnishings, everything you need to feel at home is here. Warm, and homely, the master bedroom is all you would hope for in a high quality hotel. With the icing on the cake being the unspoilt views over rolling hills, the cattle, sheep and fowl as your neighbours. Ideally located for both the Lakes and Dales. I will certainly recommend Tethera, and it's accompanying cottages, and plan to return.

“What a great weekend” We went for a 40th birthday and took 16 friends along with us. The house was just great in every way. We enjoyed the space, the kitchen and its cupboards full of stuff, the jacuzzi and the massive lounge with roaring fire. I would recommend this for a great weekend getaway with friends or family. It's in a fabulous location right by the sea and very private. My only bug was it was cold but we did go in November! Would definitely go again.

“A real little gem!” What a delightful little cottage, with absolutely all the amenities one could wish for, plus a host and hostess who couldn't do enough for us. The welcome cake and drinks were the icing on the cake. Location was fantastic, with so many activities and attractions within minutes of the cottage. Even the trip up to Beatrix Potter's home was not a long drive. Very happy to recommend this place to anyone wanting a nice little bolt hole".

“everything you could want in a holiday.” we enjoyed the whole experience. good pub up the road. lots of places to visit. plenty of room in the cottage. facilities inside the cottage were excellent. good for disabled as its all on one level. the only downside was that we would have liked a little bit more outside space, as we had two dogs with us.

“Peaceful, comfortable and well-located.” The staff were friendly and helpful from the very start. We loved our log cabin, which was very spacious and had a lovely view from the porch. Bird feeders attracted a wonderful assortment of birds, to watch as we sat outside. We had our puppy, Lucille, with us and the balcony was great for her. There were other dog lovers there, which was fun. We used the pool, the takeaway, the shop and the bar: all good. Too wet to use the tennis or football outdoor facilities, but good to know they were there. It was a good place to explore The Lakes from and we travelled each day. Saw a fabulous production of "Great Expectations" at the Theatre on the Lake in Keswick. Explored the visitors' centre at Brokole, which is almost next door and had many things to do.
