“Not just a place where you want to stay...a place where you'd li” My daughter and I rented this apartment for 3 weeks - we could not have been luckier in choosing it as a place to stay! In terms of location, it's just ideal - a 5 to 10 minute walk to the Inner Harbour and any other major attractions in Victoria. It's also mere steps from the city's wonderfully quaint Chinatown where we found great Chinese food and relaxing Thai massages (an absolute bargain!) The apartment itself is located in an elegant building that once housed the Hudson department store. It has the feel of an upscale boutique hotel, its historic facade a striking contrast to the sleek modern interior. For a one-bedroom condo downtown, it is incredibly spacious (it even includes a den) - not once did we feel cramped and it could easily have accommodated another person. The decor is so chic it could have come out of a furniture catalogue with many thoughtful touches throughout. We were particularly impressed by the kitchen - beautifully done up and fully equipped with all the latest Kitchen-aid appliances. Despite the downtown, we weren't bothered by any noise of traffic - indeed, the only sounds we heard were from the fountain located in the pretty courtyard that the balcony overlooked. The owners, Owen and Haydee, did everything they could to make us feel at home in Victoria. They couldn't have been kinder and repeatedly went out of their way to help us get around the city and ensure we had a smooth stay. We'll be back to visit Victoria soon and we can't wait to rent this apartment again!
