“An unforgettable place to stay” Le Petit Nid is a VERY special place to stay. I came here with my husband and 7 month old baby for a 10 day holiday and we came home feeling as though we had been away for much longer. Such a stylish place in the most stunning mountain location. Ticks across the board... Great beds, bathrooms, linen, kitchen equipment, books... all the things you hope for and more! Stunning walks, with the local lake just at the bottom of the mountain. Luckily for us we arranged for Sarah to cook for us one night. Her food is made with so much care, passion and quality ingredients, we really were blown away. Sarah trained in Paris at Le Cordon Bleu and it really shows in her cooking. Sarah lives next door and is so discrete, but so welcoming if you need anything at all... She is a lovely person, and we would go back just to see her!

“Great Little Gem!” Two of us stay in this cute apartment for 1 week in the mid of June, I've been to this charming little mountain town 4 times, and I love this apartment more than the hotels I've stayed in Zermatt before. First of all, it contained pretty much everything we need during the stay: soft abundant bed sheets and covers, dining table, sofa, cookware, TV & book...etc. there is even a balcony we can hang out with non-disturbing view to Matterhorn. The place is meticulous clean; especially the kitchen and bathroom, not big place but cozy and comfortable, with everything we needed when we were far away from home. Second, the location was great. Very quiet apartment just a bit outside the main street, away from downtown hustle bustle, but it only took a nice short walk to town center, restaurants, ski lift and supermarket nearby, away from the train station and all the noise. We could cook a lot of meals (still, we were in pricy Switzerland famous mountain village) and stayed in with a glass of wine and beautiful night view looking towards Matterhorn, or went grab a drink in the bars or a nice walk around town after dinner. The most important thing is the view; we could see the moon light shining on the mountains from our bed, dining table, kitchen and balcony, with Matterhorn of course. The sunrise view with the lights gradually lit on the mountain and Matterhorn was just unforgettable-yes we have jetlag. The owner was very courteous with all the information and direction we need when we stayed in Zermatt, there were even emergency groceries for us to use in the kitchen the first night we arrived there. We felt like we were home when we stayed there, not once-a-year-visitor in Zermatt at all. I missed the apartment and would like to go back again in the very near future.

“A lovely apartment with fantastic views and great skiing.” We had a wonderful holiday at this property and resort. The apartment has amazing views of the slopes, is well furnished and in a perfect location. The slopes, which are excellent for both beginners and advanced skiers, are within a 5 minute walk but if you are too tired to walk you can pop on the ski bus that stops right outside. From the slopes you can ski to 4 different neighbouring resorts. The apartment is in walking distance of shops, bars and lovely restaurants. I will definitely be returning as the apartment offers excellent value for money in a great setting.

“Beyond expectations” For quite a while I had been planning to visit Turin and Piemonte with my children and grandchildren, where my children had been born and lived through their early years. Ca' Momplin came on our radar, and once I received e-mails from Franco with photos and found the location in my memory, we all went there for over four weeks in September 2009.It became a magical stay, not only that the location great, (I still have a photo of the valley facing Cisterna on my wall, with two grape leaves tucked in) the premises were comfortable and fun to take turns cooking in, it came with the wonderful guidance of Claudia and Franco. Franco took us mushroom picking in the near Ligure mountains, arranged for us all to visit the Beppi Occelli cheese aging operationin Borgo di Valcasotto, and gave us an intgruging cooking class, making fresh pasta, and especially his bagna caoda, even better than what I remembered from my life in Piemonte. Then it was all crowned by a day picking grapes in a vineyard above the Tanaro valley, then watching the grapes being pressed, fillimng the most container in the cellars, while we drank samples of the earlier wine aging in the casks. This was followed by a farm meal and lots of wine, crowned by the singing of a male quartet of local singers. This for me was an emotional visit to the past, and all much enjoyed.
