Boone log cabin

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“The perfect trip! Awesome!” Wife and I recently spent our 15th anniversary in "A Mountain Dream"...and, it was a dream, indeed! Cozy, quaint, a true "cabin feel"...beautiful views and plenty of privacy. Terri was more than wonderful to work with...she was patient and understanding with all my questions...she made the entire process extremely easy. We plan on returning this fall! Thank you, Terri! Hawks View House * Magnificent Views * Architect's Unique Mountain Top Retreat

Blowing Rock house

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 5

“So much more than expected!” My wife and I found this place about 1.5 years ago and wanted to come and stay for our anniversary, but it was booked. We knew that we'd love to make it out the next year and so we did. What an amazing experience! My wife and I are drawn to the mountains and we weren't disappointed. The view is absolutely breathtaking and the house is a gorgeous addition to it. The pictures of the property do not do it justice. We brought our 3 year old with us and she loved it just as much as we did; especially the wood stove. Four days was definitely not enough to enjoy the house, the view and the surrounding areas. We fell in love with house and actually ended up spending half of our days lounging around inside, and staring out the huge window in the living/dining room area. Inside the home were notes that helped with the operation of some things. Switches were labeled and instructions for the wood stove were also very helpful. It was very clean and welcoming as well. It was the perfect size for our three person family and we all felt completely at home during our stay. We are looking forward to our next stay here and hope that it is soon and longer than our first. My wife and I very highly recommend Hawks View.

❤️️TWO ROCK TREEHOUSE ❤️ The mountains are calling you ...

Banner Elk log cabin

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 6

“Beautiful Cabin - We are repeat visitors!” My family and I have stayed at this cabin twice already and plan to return. This cabin is truly special, every detail has been taken care of and the owner alexandra is a pleasure to work with. Her passion alone for her cabin and the mountains are enough to make you want to stay here! First we stayed for Christmas 2010 and made the most beautiful family memories. 6 of us stayed very comfortably, there was room for one more. Everything was very clean, lots of warm blankets throughout the cabin and a lovely fireplace. Alexandra even had a small Christmas tree and ornaments for us to decorate when we arrived on Christmas Eve. Truly a special touch! My husband and I returned in February 2013 for the Valentines day holiday and loved every minute of our stay. We used the kitchen to make breakfast and dinners, visited Grandfather Mountain and a few of the local wineries. This cabin will always have a special place in our hearts and I cannot wait to visit again. Next time I would love to visit in the summer to enjoy the white water rafting and zip-line!

Tranquil Log Cabin with Beautiful Long-Range Views

Banner Elk log cabin

4 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“Ski trip in North Carolina” This is a very nice cabin. Walking in, I find it clean and well maintained. The boys (2 teenagers) are pleased to find a foosball table and a ping pong table in the basement. Kitchen: Adequately stocked with cookware. Gas range works well. There are food items already in the fridge and cupboards. The stuff in the fridge is only in the door, so there is space for our stuff. The stuff in the cabinets doesn't leave enough room. We condense the owner's food into fewer cabinets and then we have room for ours. No problem. Bathrooms: Clean. There are only showers on the top floor. The basement bathroom (third bedroom down there) has a tub, but it doesn't drain. It's cold down there, so you better be a hearty soul if you shower in the basement bath in the winter. The shower I used had one of those fancy removable shower handle things. I wish it only had a simple shower head as it sticks too far into the small shower stall. Has to pour water straight down. You are getting your hair wet no matter what. It's a minor annoyance. Living quarters: Hardwood floors, nice couch. Tv is a large CRT. No flat screen. It is in good working order with Dish network. The internet has problems. There is an old NetGear router. I've always seen problems with that brand. My MacBook was too much for it. The red light would keep coming on and I would have to wait for the router fix itself. Occasionally I would have to reboot it. Accessibility: I like seclusion and the scenery is very beautiful. We arrived during a snow fall and it was dusky. Follow the instructions the owner sends you. Gps will take you on bad roads not knowing any better. One road is washed out and it almost caused a major problem for us. The cabin is at least 40 minutes from any of the fun stuff in the area. I like that. Others in the family would have preferred to be closer to Boone. Overall, I really like the cabin. The problems I mentioned are minor, but you should know.

The Trinity on Sugar Mtn w/5BR's, Firepit, Hot Tub, Pool Table

Banner Elk house

5 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 12

“Clean with Great Entertainment Features” I booked this rental for a long weekend trip with friends. We LOVED it. Because of the number of people/couples in our party, we needed several bedrooms with combinations of single and double beds and it worked out great. Since it rained for a good part of the weekend, we enjoyed the pool table and the ping pong table. The rental was also conveniently located to the ski resorts. Due to the weather, we didn't get to use the campfire area or the hot tub, but they looked nice as well.

Chalet Switz: Little Switzerland Stone Chalet

Little Switzerland chalet

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 3

“Perfect Couple's Romantic Getaway” Our recent mid-June stay at Chalet-Switz was everything we had hoped it would be. Despite its small size, my wife and I never once felt cramped or confined as the chalet makes perfect use of its limited square footage. The historic nature and uniqueness of the chalet was a major selling point in our decision to rent it for the week over other options and, in all honesty, I cannot imagine ever staying anywhere else on future vacations to the area. The home's close proximity to the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway made our many driving excursions all the more pleasurable. The owner has taken great care to even furnish the chalet with such unique touches as several books on the local area and its history and coffee mugs made from local artists. For the same price as a hotel room (perhaps much less, in many cases) we were able to stay somewhere truly special. The bed was comfortable, the Greek tub completely manageable for daily showering/bathing, and our ability to use the kitchen facilities for our daily breakfasts and even a dinner or two allowed us to save money over having to eat out for every single meal. If I were forced to find any criticism whatsoever it would be that the coffee maker was quite small and required my wife and I (both coffee lovers) to brew at least two small pots each morning and there were no laundry facilities available to us, which really wasn't much of a problem for us, but would have been helpful had they been available. Chalet Switz was much more than just a room to crash in after an activity filled day in the mountains of Western NC; staying there was as much a part of our vacation experience as any of the sights we saw or activities we enjoyed. I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to unplug from daily life and have a truly unique and memorable vacation experience when visiting the area. We will almost certainly be repeat guests at some point in the future.
