“Unique and beautiful...heavy on the character...” I'm a frequent visitor of the 'ette. I love the location (right off the main drag) but enjoy its solitude (wooded median...long drive way). Its sort of like a studio apartment in the woods. its close to many of the wineries, The Red Newt and Stone Cat restaurants and a gas/quick mart. When Wine tasting its easy to swing by and change clothes/use the facilities/take a nap (comfy beds) and unload your recent purchases. The owners are friendly and helpful. The grounds are spacious with a nice walking trail. For what you get for the price its really a great secret. So why share a secret? I'm not there long enough or frequent enough to keep it to myself...like a cool song, I shouldn't be singing it alone (especially if you've heard my voice).

“Awesome getaway!” Hearts Delight and the hosts, Mac and Dar are just that...a delight! The cabin is clean and comfortable with all the amenities of home but in a very relaxed country setting. The grounds are just beautiful and well maintained with a fire pit, swimming and fishing ponds, walking trails through the woods and a shared hot tub. You could not ask for a nicer getaway that is not that far from many of Ohio's highlights.

“AMAZING CABIN! Great location, couldn't ask for anything better!” The owner was amazing to work with and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great! It was wonderful for the large group that we had. Especially having the 2 kitchens, and the large family rooms. The location was great, as we went and hiked Stewart Falls just above Sundance Resort and then floated the Provo River in rafts, all within just minutes of the cabin. We were able to have a group fire pit at the park just below the cabin by the river. The wild life of rabbits, peacocks, turkeys and deer around the cabin made it fun especially for the youth of the group. Would love to stay there again and would highly recommend it.

“Good Times at Kenslynn Cottages” For the past 10 years, we have stayed at Kenslynn Cottages in Bancroft. The folks who rent the cottages are wonderful people and try very hard to accommodate your every need. The most important feature of the cottage is Trout Farrady Lake. Very clean fresh lake water. When the sun shines or if it's cloudy, you'll appreciate mother nature at its best. The cottages are well appointed, and the kids will be kept busy indoors or outside. I've enjoyed every summer, and consider this a great destination to enjoy a specatular part of northern Ontario. The key thing to remember is you're at a cottage, not the Hilton. Eric, Glynnis, Lynne and Murray are wonderful hosts and take care of your every need. So come up and visit Bancroft, because it's a jewel that lifts our spirits every summer. The kids will appreciate it and remember the experience for years to come.

“11 out of 10” My son and had a blast staying at cottages at Christmas Mountain in the Wisconsin Dells. The house was very clean and well decorated. The beds were very comfy. The service at the front desk as well as through out the grounds was excellent. They provided us with a weekly list of activities that they provide for the kids and families. Everything was well thought out and planned to maximize our time there. We had such a great time that not only will we return next year, but we are planning a 3 or 4 day this fall. We had no "hidden surprises", and never once had to call with a complaint. I will rent from Sheri Lundstrom Everytime we go to the Dells.

“Girls weekend away” Six of us brought together through a breast cancer survivor dragonboat team formed a bond and now we get together once a year at the "Annex". We go in the fall and enjoy the colours and serenity of the place. We have so much fun, the house is big and rustic. We enjoy the fireplace, the big kitchen, we take turns making meals and can't enough of the great outdoors. Dave makes sure we have enough wood and all the comforts of home. We just love the place and are looking forward to going back again this year.

“perfect” We love Oar Island. It is the perfect vacation place for families with children of different ages, or just a couple. There is hiking, sunning, relaxation, but mostly what we love about Oar Island is the isolation. It is an adventure as well, since the only way to get there is by the little motorboat. It is a getaway for certain kinds of people; but if you prefer the Marriott type of stay, this is not that kind, it is much more "out-doorsy".

“Paradise found at The Cozy Cottage on Lake Travis!!!” Speaking for our entire family, I want to thank you for an amazing four day vacation/experience. Upon arriving at Living Waters, we were immediately drawn into the peaceful, inspirational environment that encompasses the "compound". "The Cottage" was perfect for the seven of us. After we arrived, we sat out on the back porch to admire our surroundings. Bethany arrived to give us some wonderful advice as to what to see and do in and around Spicewood. Her charm and enthusiasm immediately got us all excited about our next few days of activities. Our next activities were from Bethany and Travis's recommendations: visits to the Stone House and Spicewood Wineries and swimming at Krause Springs. I saved the best recommendation for last: The Friday night Tomato Happy Hour with Kathleen. We met so many wonderful "regulars" as well as the other two couples who were staying at Living Waters. It was a memorable experience. Kathleen is an amazing person. After I read her little book that was upstairs in the cottage, I couldn't wait to talk with her. She bonded instantly with our family and the children were taken in by her warmth and friendliness. Little Haynie hadn't come home by the time we left so Kathleen invited us to come back the next morning, bright and early, so that we could meet him. We set our alarms for 6:30 am and we were not disappointed. My grandson Evan (age 10) said that petting a deer was one of the most wonderful experiences he's ever had. We all decided that we wanted to have a pet deer of our own!!! Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to experience life in that little corner of heaven called Living Waters. “Great cozy home away from home.” We stayed in the Orleans bungalo apartment on July 15-18. It felt like we were at home. The apartment had lots of character and charm. Loved sitting outside on the terrace watching the free entertainment across the street , was it called the ship wrecked bar? I especially loved beiing able to go to the back alley and washing clothes. (I hope it belonged to the cottages property, if not then oops!) We utilized the kitchen and the gas grill out back on the patio.Everything was great and this cottage had plenty of space for two families. We met my cousins from Texas in Flordia for a vaca. We drove from Oklahoma. The flat screens worked great. I have no complaints about this place. I just want to say to all you all snotty people leaving negative comments.... Quit complaining or find somewhere else to stay. What exactly do you think you are getting when you hear the word "cottages" it's not going to have a bell hop and a maid that cleans up your messes daily. Maybe some of you never lived in 100 year old homes and only used to a lavish lifestyle. Obviously you spent your time in doors. not us we were at the beach the majority of the day until almost 9pm every night. I enjoyed my stay there. It was a good 3 day stay for us despite the rainy weather. Yet we still had fun.

“The sound of the waves, right outside your door, are like a lull” We had a "rough time" getting here (mechanical problems with the plane, canceled flight, etc.) but the cottage soothed our tired souls! We found the drum of the waves to be the best lullaby and the fresh air and abundant sunshine to renew our spirits. We appreciated the personal art on the walls and the large open space. For folks who enjoy cooking with local produce, the well stocked kitchen, the large number of pots/pans/utensils, and the full sized refrigerator are perfect. There was plenty of hot water in the shower (and good water pressure!), the furniture was comfortable (brought back memories of beach houses from our childhood), and the large counter surface in the "dressing room" was perfect for all of our "stuff". We used the outdoor patio table for several breakfasts and dinners, watched a neighbor vacationer fish from the sea wall, and took daily walks on the nearly deserted beach. There were many informative books in the cottage along with maps, Dvds, etc. We used the guide books but were too busy enjoying Oahu to need any other form of entertainment! Although we have traveled extensively in the past few years, this was our first trip to Hawaii. We have already recommended the cottage to family and friends - thank you, Peter, for sharing your wonderful home.

“Home from home” At the end of our touring holiday in California, when deciding which had been our favourite location and accomodation, this one came out tops with everyone (mum, dad, and 2 teenagers). Our main reason for going to the area was to visit Yosemite National Park, where we spent two long days. It seemed a shame that we didn't have more time to spend in this beautiful home in its peaceful location. Both of the park entrances were almost an hour away, but through beautiful countryside, so for us it was part of trip. However if someone was wanting to make an early start on some of the trails, they might wish they had chosen a closer location. Mariposa itself was a lovely town, full of character, but we made the mistake of leaving exploring it to the morning we left - and discovered that nothing opened till after 10am - and we couldn't hang around that long. The house was great, and we were completely undisturbed. Having two bathrooms helped speed up our departure each morning. And the two teenagers were glad to have separate beds instead of having to share a double. The big washer and dryer were great (this was the half way point on our tour - we were running low on clean clothes!). The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in - I wished I could take it home! Eating outside every morning and evening, in complete privacy (except for the morning visit by the wild turkeys)and quiet, was wonderful. There was absolutely everything we needed, (and a few things we didn't need - like a karaoke machine!) a real home from home.
