“Awe Inspired!” The cabin was wonderful. The Bison feeding was so much fun ,one of the Alpha males had such an assured look in his eyes it was almost regal. The bison burgers were to die first! While in the hotbed which is really nice BTW, we looked up and the sky looked like God himself filled the entire sky thick with glitter that's how many stars there were.When my dog went out here came the grey mini pony and my dog licked it's nose, I think they wanted to elope....LOL The Mtn Goats & Liamas were fun as well. We couldn't remember the last time we were so relaxed. We love Bison Overlook Lodge & we will be back!

“New River Ramble” This was a great time for the entire family. We attended the ASU football game, but until that time we enjoyed all the amenities of the home. The New River, the fire pit, the hot tub, the game room, the bicycles, etc. were enjoyed by everyone. This place has everything you could imagine you would need. We will be back! :)

“Relaxing and carefree” We had such a wonderful and memorable weekend. Very picturesque and ever so quiet when you're there mid season. There were wineries and breweries within a short driving distance, and the local restaurants are spot on. I would not suggest using GPS, it gets you in the vicinity but not to the right house. Thank goodness for pictures of the house. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful, but bring your own trash bags and sandwich bags etc. The master bath and bed is very nice. We loved the bed so much that we are buying a mattress exactly like it because we slept so well. My only other suggestion would be to have the house ready for arrival. The house was cold, and the entry way was not swept, I picked up a few pieces of trash laying around on the driveway, but I am a Manager of a very nice Boutique Hotel so I notice these small things. All in all it was so lovely and I would definitely stay again.

“Beautiful cabin and view” The drive to the cabin was fairly easy since the road is paved. However, the turn in to the private drive was tricky for our Chrysler Town and Country minivan. We couldn't make it in one turn and had to stop and backup a little then put it back in drive to make the turn. Also, any time we left the cabin we had to backup and put it back in drive a couple of times before we could get turned around. Smaller vehicles will probably not have this problem. The cabin is beautiful with all the large windows and so many gorgeous logs! We loved sitting out on the deck looking at the mountains and listening to the nearby creek. We wished a few more trees had been cut down, but were happy for those that had been. We understand the sun could be a problem since there are no blinds in the kitchen or living room and we had the sun in our eyes every morning. I would recommend some of the small pull down blinds for those windows. The decks are awesome and provide a ton of space, but we wish there had been more furniture on both decks (there is none on the lower level where the hot tub is). The hot tub and sauna were amazing. The upstairs guest bathtub is wonderful, as is the shower downstairs. There needs to be more bath/hand towels and washcloths in all bathrooms. I would recommend towels on the lower level specifically for use with the hot tub/sauna. We had fun playing pool and the table is in great shape. As much as we loved the cabin there was one thing that would keep us from going back...the beds. Not everyone slept well and when you are somewhere for a week rest is important. We realize bed preferences are very individualized and others may find them more comfortable than we did. Lastly, the reservation process and picking up/returning keys was very easy.

“Beautiful, extremely comfortable, would go back again!!!” My family and I stayed for 8 days and could not have asked for a more comfortable, clean well-built cabin to spend our vacation. The views were beautiful especially the sunrise in the morning over the deck. There were six of us, all adults, and the house was large enough that we all had our own space when needed. We were close to trout fishing, zip lining and water rafting. One of the things that stood out to me was the quality of the furnishings from the bedding, linens to all of the kitchen ware. The whole cabin has been decorated with taste and quality. My family enjoyed the hot tub every night. We grilled on the deck, made smores over the fire pit. It was truly a wonderful vacation that was made even more memorable by the cabin itself. I would definitely go back again and hope to!!!

“Perfect Peaceful Spot on the River” Jack and Christy were great. We briefly mentioned we were “getting away” for our anniversary and they had champagne and a lovely card waiting for us. We travelled to the area to visit Biltmore, which is a must see. The cabin is about 25 mins. away from Biltmore and is a perfect spot to enjoy peace and quiet and enjoy a little nature. We sat by a fire in the evening, listening to the river rumble and were able to see a deer come to the river as well as ducks and an Osprey glide between the trees. It’s only 5 mins. from I-40 but you feel like you miles and miles away from anyone. Jack and Chrsty, thanks again for your hospitality. Your beautiful cabin and attention to detail throughout made our anniversary one that we’ll remember for a long time. Oh- and the frosty beer mugs in the freezer were much appreciated.

“Perfect getaway” Is this edited version ok to put on the website? We just had the most relaxing time at Mountain Dream Cabins. We went with very little expectation as this was our first mountain getaway after moving to Charlotte 7 months ago. We absolutely loved it. The cabins are so you have a lot of privacy and we like that a lot. It was great to unwind and disconnect from the world for a short time. “Relaxing and rejuvinating” My husband, six month old daughter and I spent the weekend here in May. It was outstanding. Kendall, the owner, was warm and welcoming from the minute we stepped out of the car. She provided us with maps of her property, which you can hike and explore. We especially enjoyed the koi pond and just sitting on the porch swing. The views are amazing from the porch and deck. The cabin is in Fairview, NC which is about 20 minutes away from Asheville. It is the perfect location, far enough away to feel as if you are the only ones around, but close enough to downtown to run in for dinner. You don't have to, however, because there is a restaurant, The Local Joint, about 5 minutes away. They have a variety of local food and organic entrees. Excellent. Kendall is a licensed massage therapist and yoga instructor. We were able to get massages for both my husband and myself, which were fantastic. I also opted to take a private yoga lesson, which was awesome. I am a super-beginner, and she was able to make the class both on my level and enjoyable. We got the "relaxation weekend" which I highly recommend. The massage and yoga class (or sauna treatment) come with the cabin price. There is a hot tub which we were unable to use (because we needed to watch the baby), but looked very inviting. Overall, I would give this vacation spot 5 stars, more if I could!

“Home away from home” I own my own business, so any time away is especially precious. Kilkelly's West Wing Cottage was the perfect fit. Unlike the institutional feel of a hotel room, the West Wing is like a home away from home. Immediately, we felt comfortable and relaxed. The rooms were exceptionally clean and well kept. The rooms were equipped with every possible item anyone would need, even a tea kettle and grill accessories for the gas grill. The commercial like ice maker was an unexpected surprise. They even provided a small cooler for day trips. Normally in a hotel room, I am loathe to touch anything and notice the dirt and traces of previous guests. Immediately you can see how clean and welcoming the West Wing is - I had no hesitation using any of the amenities. We are very picky travelers and the West Wing exceeded our expectations. The breakfast casserole was so good I even got the recipe! There are several televisions with satellite, DVD, Blue-Ray, etc - available but we never even turned them on. It was so relaxing enjoying the sunrise, sunset and mountain views, we had no need for the outside world. We would not hesitate to come back and highly recommend the West Wing! :)

“What a nice little getaway place!” Dealing with Shirley was very easy and I appreciate her working with me on a last minute decision to rent a log home. A lot of house rentals want advance notice, and will not let you stay for only one evening, you have to book for 3 days minimum. Shirley's house worked great for a last minute get away for my girlfriends Birthday. The following day we got up and went sight seeing. Very nice quiet area to get away from your daily life! Would highly recommend Shirley and her Beautiful house.
