“Great Stay” What a Gem of a place! Mrs. Linda was as hospitable and welcoming as any property owner could ever be! Myself and two children (Ages 7 & 5) couldn't bring ourselves to leave the Eco Cabin as it was full of surprises to explore.. We just enjoyed the simplicity and stillness that the mountains have to offer and had a great mountain bike day at Tsali State Park which is just right around the corner.. Thank You Linda for a wonderful stay and we will be back soon!

The Trinity on Sugar Mtn w/5BR's, Firepit, Hot Tub, Pool Table

Banner Elk house

5 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 12

“Clean with Great Entertainment Features” I booked this rental for a long weekend trip with friends. We LOVED it. Because of the number of people/couples in our party, we needed several bedrooms with combinations of single and double beds and it worked out great. Since it rained for a good part of the weekend, we enjoyed the pool table and the ping pong table. The rental was also conveniently located to the ski resorts. Due to the weather, we didn't get to use the campfire area or the hot tub, but they looked nice as well.

GORGEOUS VIEW OF THE BLACK MTNS! CLOSE TO TOWN.

Burnsville house

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Relax and enjoy the view and the art” This place was so relaxing, rejuvenating and beautiful! Lovely house with all you need. The deck is awesome for enjoying the view, sunning, grilling. You are surrounded by not only mountains but by artist studios throughout the area on the Toe River Studio Tour. Claudia and John were very helpful and all of our contact with them was enjoyed. They can guide you to wonderful hiking locations too. It was so cool to see them at work in their studios creating art. Their studios are in walking distance from the house.

Becks Cabin....Ride the tail of the dragon!

Robbinsville log cabin

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Perfect Trip!” We did not travel far from where we are from, but we felt like we had escaped to the most beautiful part of the middle of nowhere. Everything you forgot or might have forgotten was available, and the six of us (8 one night) slept completely comfortably. We have already inquired about returning in summers and winters to come. We were secluded, and the yard was perfect for our endless bocce ball games. Very worth it!

Enjoy The Beautiful Lake and Mountain Views from every room of the house!

Lake Lure cottage

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Huge house, excellent location” The house is very well maintained and beautiful inside out. I stayed with my girlfriend for the weekend in June. It is close to Asheville and just few minutes from Lake Lure & Chimney rock. The house has 3 BR and 2bath which can easily accomodate 3 couples(6 people). It has good size Samsung TV that one can watch movies on with a glass wine in the living room. I recommend to take your tablet and chromecast so you can stream movies on the TV. I 100% recommend this place to anybody who is looking for a getaway in the mountains or the Lake. I will definitely stay here agan and will recommend all my friends.. Melanie(the owner) is easy/fast to get in touch with via text/phone, although we didn't had any issue to contact her but as soon as I entered the house, I was so impressed that I texted to thank her and she replied back immediately:-).

A Perfect Mountain Retreat

Beech Mountain house

3 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms / sleeps 7

“We had a wonderful time” A Perfect Mountain Retreat is the perfect name for this place. The home is absolutely amazing and in really good condition. The location on Beech Mountain was awesome and we loved coming "home" and finding deer in the driveway. It was wonderful waking up and enjoying a cup of coffee on the front porch while taking in the fresh mountain air. It's in an ideal location right up the road from the Beech Mountain Club, Lake Coffey, and not too far from the Buckeye Recreation Center. The house was not on a major road so there were rarely any vehicles that passed by. The wife and I wouldn't mind owning a place just like it some day. If this place is available the next time we head up to Beech Mountain, we will definitely stay here again.

The Heart Center - Gorgeous Log Cabin In The Woods

Robbinsville log cabin

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Awesome Cabin!!” My husband and I rented this property for the July 4th weekend. His sister and her husband traveled with us. At first we thought we were going to the end of the Earth, but after finding the cabin we were all very pleased. It was very nice! Clean, spacious, and private. Giving each couple their own bedroom and bathroom. Best of all, Liz, is an amazing hostess, checking in with us daily to be sure everything was perfect. I would highly recommend this cabin for a nice relaxing weekend.

Heaven's View of the Smoky Mountains

Franklin house

3 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“AWESOME! We felt very at home here” The house was clean, it smelled clean, and was very comfortable. Lots of comfortable space here for our 5 children 7 to 11 years old. The table on the deck was a fantastic place to eat breakfast. The view was spectacular. We started talking about coming back the first night here. The only reason I can think of for not recommending it to everyone is to keep it available for us or if you cannot handle stairs. The drive is steep, and my wife would not drive up or down it, but I had no problems at all. The house was well stocked and neatly decorated. It actually will sleep 10 with the sofa beds, so you could have one couple with 4 children upstairs, and another with 2 children downstairs comfortably. We will be staying here again, and will recommend it to our friends and family.

Cabin in the Clouds

Black Mountain house

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Awesome view, great value” We spent 3 nights at the cabin and loved it. We had a bit of trouble figuring out that the street that has a sign calling it E. State Street is Old US 70, but once we figured that out, we got the hang of finding our way to the cabin. I wouldn't suggest making the drive for the 1st time in the dark. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the back porch every day for the amazing sunset. Despite having only 1 bedroom, the cabin feels bigger due to the open kitchen/dining/living space. We didn't cook but the appliances and kitchen seemed well equipped. I did have to contact the owner because I couldn't get the tv to display any channels. Unfortunately he didn't return my call (I left a voicemail) and I called again the next day. When I reached Larry the next day, he put me in touch with a local caretaker and I was able to resolve the issue over the phone. It might be helpful for the owner to leave a back up local number if for some reason you can't reach him. In this case, it was a minor issue so no problem. Overall, I would highly recommend this cabin as it is exactly as described.

Beautiful Lakefront Cabin in Highlands, NC

Highlands house

4 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“Fabulous accommodations in great location” Wonderful rental! We loved the openness. Fully stocked kitchen with more gadgets than we have at home. Fast internet connection. Super soft sheets! Tons of games, DVDs/VHS and books of multiple genres. Washer/dryer, ironing board, iron, brooms, vacuum, hair dryers and curling irons. Plenty of soap, tissue, towels. Especially loved porch that has an uncovered section with built-in benches and a large covered section where much time was spent, particularly for morning coffee and evening cocktails. Very large, multi-level deck from porch down to private lake/pond. Nice walkway out into pond with a detachable, floating section ~8x10'. 2 kayaks and flat bottom boat conveniently located at water's edge. Downstairs bathroom has very large jacuzzi tub with extendible shower head (no shower). Very quiet location, only 5 min from down town Highlands. Close to many hiking trails/water falls. There is so much positive about this place I can't remember them all. We have already booked another long weekend 6 weeks from now!

Walk To Town 3 bedroom spacious home

Highlands house

“Cozy & Close to Town” We had an excellent stay in Highlands, thanks in no small part to Lisa & co., and their lovely home. The house is located within walking distance of downtown Highlands (food, drinks, & shopping if that's your thing). Yet, it is also located so that it feels hidden away, as it is nestled in a thicket of trees. The home itself is comfortable and cozy, very well maintained. It's set up is ideal for groups of friends (like ours) or families and can easily accommodate large-ish groups. Lisa was swift, efficient, and very helpful throughout the entire process. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks again Lisa!

Sharon Spring Wellness Retreat Ashville Mountains

Fairview log cabin

/ 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Relaxing and rejuvinating” My husband, six month old daughter and I spent the weekend here in May. It was outstanding. Kendall, the owner, was warm and welcoming from the minute we stepped out of the car. She provided us with maps of her property, which you can hike and explore. We especially enjoyed the koi pond and just sitting on the porch swing. The views are amazing from the porch and deck. The cabin is in Fairview, NC which is about 20 minutes away from Asheville. It is the perfect location, far enough away to feel as if you are the only ones around, but close enough to downtown to run in for dinner. You don't have to, however, because there is a restaurant, The Local Joint, about 5 minutes away. They have a variety of local food and organic entrees. Excellent. Kendall is a licensed massage therapist and yoga instructor. We were able to get massages for both my husband and myself, which were fantastic. I also opted to take a private yoga lesson, which was awesome. I am a super-beginner, and she was able to make the class both on my level and enjoyable. We got the "relaxation weekend" which I highly recommend. The massage and yoga class (or sauna treatment) come with the cabin price. There is a hot tub which we were unable to use (because we needed to watch the baby), but looked very inviting. Overall, I would give this vacation spot 5 stars, more if I could!

“relaxing and quiet” This cabin is a wonderful place to be if you want somewhere you can relax and spend time with family and friends. It was very peaceful and it seemed like we were the only ones around. Even though it was secluded, it was only a short drive for our white water rafting excursion and for quick trips to the store. Donnie, the owner, was awesome and very attentive to all our needs!

Hot tubs for Fall on the River in Bat Cave NC & Massage Chairs, Fire Place

Bat Cave cottage

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“Nice and Cozy” We had a great time during Spring Break 2014. We wanted to do something a little different with grandkids this year, and this Cottage was perfect. (We normally go to Gatlinburg) Cottage sits right on the river with the deck actually out over the river. Hot tub was well taken care of and located where we had a nice view of the river. We didn't realize we had scheduled opening day of trout fishing season, but we took advantage, and my son caught several nice fish right on the property. I enjoyed the fact that the cottage is a part of history, (Former Bat Cave Post Office), yet everything was updated with new fixtures and electronics. The beds slept great, and the grand kids loved the game room. Chimney Rock State Park and little downtown area are just a few minutes from the cottage on the same road. We were a little concerned about available dining close by, but were pleasantly surprised with the variety of options. Also used the available stainless Weber grill on the deck. I am certain we will return later in the summer. The owners were very nice, and made us feel like we were appreciated. Overall a very nice and relaxing vacation. (The massage chair was a bonus when I could get the kids out of it)

“More than we expected, we will be back!” This is the perfect place to get away! We came in at night and I was nervous because I know how picky my boyfriend is about staying away from home. It was very clean the pictures don't do it justice. The hot tub was great. The inside was spacious. Chimney Rock was just down the road. We did a day of shopping and climbed all the way to the top of Chimney Rock and all the trails and came back and spent some much needed time in the hot tub and massage chair. The owners were right upstairs and we talked with them they were so nice however we couldn't tell there was anyone upstairs unless we went to them. I can't wait to go back!!! I need the sound of the river to put me to sleep again!

“In a Word-fabulous!” We spent a wonderful weekend at this mountain lodge in late March. While not inexpensive, the facilities were to-quality and the working fireplace on the back deck--with its beautiful view of the mountains and early morning fog--were spectacular. The hiking was also great fun and easy to access. We will be back. It is essentially in the head of no place, which makes it all the better to feel like you've had a real get-away.

BREATHTAKING VIEWS at Kilkelly's CABIN

Boone log cabin

“The best of the best” I have been visiting and staying in rental places in Western NC for many years and the Kilkelly Cabin has no peer. The cabin is perfect and the views other worldly but the best part of the experience are the hosts. Joanie and Gary made sure our stay was more than we ever could have imagined. We celebrated my son's graduation from App St, my Mom's 80th birthday and Mother's Day all in one spectacular long weekend. It literally could not have been better. 5 stars are not nearly enough. Beary Cozy Chalet

Murphy log cabin

3 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 20

“An Awesome Time for My Family” My family drove to NC for our first family reunion. Part from Florida, the other part from Connecticut. First, let me say that the Beary Cozy has a great view. Waking up in the morning and watching the sun rise above the mist is super cool and peaceful. The area was just beautiful all around. The Beary Cozy itself is a very pleasant place to stay. It's clean, lovely, and has lots of space for 12 people. The owners really care about the guests having a great time. Finding a swimming hole for everybody was a little challenging. We weren't familiar with the area so obviously that would make it more difficult. But a couple of things that we did were: white water rafting at the Ocoee river (we had a lot of fun!), tubing down the Toccoa (fun, too), skeet shooting at the Wagon Ranch (though it was HOT!), and running...or crawling? ... up the forever stairs at Fields of the Wood. If you're looking to get some family time in a beautiful place, this is it!

Hilltop Hideaway

Banner Elk log cabin

4 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 12

“The most breathtaking place I have ever vacationed.” As you pull up the final climb and the house and mountains crest into view, you will not believe the beauty. This was my first NC mountain vacation and I hold the memory very near to heart. I can not recall a part of the Hilltop Hideaway that I did not like. The house can accomodate a few family groups but is beyond spacious, leaving a variety of places to tuck away and find some privacy. The sun rises facing the front porch and sets out back making it a perfect time to relax in the hammock and take it all in. The kids found Wooly Worms aplenty and me and my wife found a place to connect, bond and make memories that I will take with me forever. As you can tell I can't say enough about how great our experience was here. I can't wait to go back.

The Cottage on Parkway Loop

Asheville cottage

“Relaxing and Cozy” The owners of this property did a wonderful job of renovating this cozy cottage. It was clean, well appointed, cozy, and thoughtfully done. We celebrated Valentines weekend and did some sightseeing but would have been just as happy staying inside all weekend. It had everything you need in a compact but comfortable area. The setting was quiet yet the location is very convenient to asheville and Biltmore. The only thing we missed was having a fire in the fire pit outside due to cold and snow. We will return to enjoy this cozy cottage and all that asheville has to offer.
